AHSC520 Sunflower Thanks

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Hope you all had a nice weekend, we certainly did, and I relaxed yesterday and tried to get my craft room in order for all my new goodies!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge made me think of the retiring Celebrate Sunflowers!   Here's the sketch:

And here we go:

I think I may have gone overboard with the diecuts, but it was fun to get some use out of them before they retire!  I stamped the smaller sunflower in Black Stazon ink and used Daffodil Delight and Cajun Craze inks to color it, using Pear Pizzazz for all the greenery:

I used the "friend" from Love For You for the sentiment; I used layers of Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz DSPs, as well as a mat of Cajun Craze for my Gingham-embossed Basic White layer.  I stamped only a portion of the sentiment from the Sunflower set for another sentiment at the bottom:

This is such a great sunflower set, I may just keep this one!  Thanks for visiting today!

Some pictures from Easter:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SS290 Times Two

Happy Tuesday, folks!  Is it really only Tuesday?  I feel like it should be at least Thursday...it's been a busy start of the week already! I made a card yesterday for the Christmas Card Throwdown theme as well as the Sunday Stamps sketch, then realized I messed up the sketch part!  So I made another one just using the sketch! (I will show you the messed-up one too.)  But first let's see the sketch:

I had been playing around with the new Cottage Wreath bundle, but hadn't really made anything with it, so I had all these wreaths laying around on my desk, so I decided to put one to use.  I got out some Cajun Craze DSPs and went to work:

This particular wreath was stamped with Cajun Craze and Versamark on Vellum, then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder and die cut.  I added a Cinnamon Cider bow and a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers, and stuck on some Gilded Gems.  It all went on a Very Vanilla circle:

I added a little filgreen diecut under the banner, and here's the inside, with another wreath outline and a sentiment from Color and Contour:

Here's my original one; the theme for the Christmas Card Throwdown was sledding or skiing:

I pulled out an old stamp; not even sure who made it, maybe Lost Coast Designs, of two children sledding and I it's one of my favorites!  Stamped in Misty Moonlight, it went well with some Carter Bella Welcome Winter papers:

I colored the sky with a pale gray Copic, then added a sentiment from an old stamp from my stash!  The banner looked a little plain, so I added two glimmer diecut snowflakes to match the fun Metallic Mesh ribbon that I used for the horizontal piece.  My error on this card was that I centered the banner, but I certainly wasn't going to chuck it, LOL!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink:

Thanks for visiting today!

A family birthday party for the birthday girl...it was a long week of celebrating!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP597 Sketch from Joanne

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for a new Paper Players challenge with Joanne as our hostess!  She has a fun sketch for us!  Don't you just love sketches?  I know I do! Here we go:

As I said a few posts ago, I just got this SAB Designer Series Paper called Rings of Love.  Check out this lovely pattern:

I did NOT want to cover up any of that prettiness, so for my horizontal panel, I created a "window" from Sweet Sorbet cardstock, using a Stitched Rectangle to cut out the inside twice .  Behind it, I added some vellum, then stamped a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers and fussy-cut it out:

I also fussy-cut a few little designs from the DSP to tuck around the sentiment, along with some matte dots (which are a bit hard to see!).  I had an extra cut-out left over, so I adhered that to the inside:

I am having so much fun with these papers!  I need a couple of thank you cards for some customers, so I think I'll make another one!  And I hope you'll make a card with our sketch too!  Check out what the DT created over at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!

After a cloudy start, we managed to get a pretty nice afternoon for our time at the pool on Friday!  Here's Cassidy with her friend Trevor (hard to get a good shot--they never stop swimming!):

And each one of them, hurtling down the slide:

The water was "refreshing", to say the least!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TMS653 Sorbet Sunflower

Happy Wednesday, peeps! My card today is bright, you'd better put on your sunglasses!  It uses one of SU's new In Colors, Sweet Sorbet!  I paired it with Celebrate Sunflowers and Jar of Flowers for a fun thank you card for one of my customers!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I started with some new Sweet Sorbet DSP, cutting out a section with a Stitched Rectangle die, then flipping over the cut-out piece and cutting it with the next smaller size down die.  I stamped the jar from Jar of Flowers in Pool Party, then added the smaller sunflower stamped in Sweet Sorbet and Soft Succulent (for the leaves).  I colored in each section with a blender pen, then mounted them on a circle that was embossed with the Dots EF:

I added a sentiment from Ornate Thanks, a wee bit of Soft Succulent ribbon and some In Color Matte Dots to finish it off!  I think it's fun to use a floral image in a different color than expected!  I am trying to get used to the new colors....they're a little intense for me, but I am sure I will warm up to them.  Thanks for visiting today!

Can't ignore Dana and Wayne....although it looks like Wayne has a big pirate's earring, it's really his sunglasses strap, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT526 Simple Hello

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  We're on the downhill slide to the weekend!  I thought the sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday was a super one, so I made TWO!

Here's my first one, uber-simple, great for a masculine birthday, and it uses Christmas papers for a non-Christmas theme!

I used Tidings of Christmas DSPs, a Crumb Cake card base and Kraft for my stitched leaf.  The Ornate Frames tag features a sentiment from Best Year stamped in Evening Evergreen and embellished with a little Linen Thread bow:

To create the diagonal panel, I used the largest Stitched Rectangle die and angled it so that longest edge cut across the 4" DSP.  The second one is more feminine; it uses DSPs from Harvest Meadow, and a pretty flower from Color and Contour, stamped in Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent:

I used the label die from Pierced Blooms and a Tailor Made Tag with a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers; I also added a little smattering of Sequins for Everything:

Thanks for visiting today!

So remember the tree branch that broke off from a tree in our yard less than a week ago?  And I said I didn't see how the other branches could hold themselves up?

Pulled the topmost part of the tree off, and we didn't hear a thing!  John went down the driveway on an errand and noticed it!  We'll probably take the rest of it down...he had just gotten the first portion cleaned up!

More wood for our neighbor!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Sunflower

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a very simple card for you today; my friend gave me a pretty sunflower dishtowel as part of my birthday gift and I wanted to make a thank you card for her using the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set!  Here's the towel:

And here's my card:

The CAS Colour and Sketches sketch was perfect for it:

I used a strip of the retired True Love DSP with a thin mat of Daffodil Delight for the vertical piece, then stamped and colored in the smaller sunflower, using the matching die to cut it out:

I liked the shape of the element on the sketch, so I diecut two stitched squares from Old Olive using the retired Stitched Shapes dies, layered them and then added the flower on top.  It all went on a Basic White card base that was embossed with the Greenery die and embellished with some In Color Jewels.  My final addition was the "thanks", fussy cut from the Big Wishes set and popped up with some mini dimensionals!  And it's in the mail!  Thanks for popping in today!

The kids went on a Happy Hour cruise on the Chesapeake and Delaware canal yesterday!  It had rained earlier but luckily it had stopped by the time they went!  John's chiropractor's son owns the boat but was not the captain on this trip.

And I still have some birthday cards to share!!  Don't want to miss anyone!

This gorgeous one is from Sally...it's even prettier IRL!

My sweet PP teammate Ann sent this one:

And my Retrorubber teammate Maria sent this beauty!

Thanks, ladies!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TMS616 Thanks a Bunch

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  A lot of the cards I make are thank you cards for my customers!  I needed a to send out a couple, so that's what I am sharing today.  The first one uses the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch:

and the Color and Contour stamp set featuring the pretty Highland Heather:

I stamped the image in Smoky Slate, then added some color to the leaves with a Soft Seafoam marker and added a mat of the same color; the sentiment is from Celebrate Sunflowers:

I did add some In Color gems too!

The second one is just one I threw together with some scraps laying on my desk; it features a sentiment from Shaded Summer and some diecuts from the new die Summer Shadows, which will be available as a SAB reward!  I used papers from Sweet Symmetry and Flirty Flamingo DSP as well as Just Jade and So Saffron cardstock:

Several different dies were used as well!  Lots of fun using up little scraps!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hard to believe this little punkin will be eleven next month!
