52CCT2025-43 Winter Scene

Happy Thursday, all! I have a cute little winter-scened card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge this week:

SU's Winter Scenes have some sweet little scenes, and I chose this one:

I started with a Cloud Cover card base, then added a woodgrain print from Country Woods. I stamped my image in Black Stazon and used inks to watercolor it.  I added a little bit of twine to accent:

A wee bit of Wink of Stella adding some glitter to the snow!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT676 Rustic Centerpiece

Happy Thursday, peeps! My card today uses a partial image from the Online Exclusive Rustic Centerpiece along with the sketch from Try a Sketch On Tuesday:

So here we go:

I stamped a partial image on watercolor paper in Stazon ink, then did some creative diecutting with an Everyday Arches die. I colored the image with some reinkers and an aquapainter, and added a wee bit of Linen Thread for an embellishment.  I snagged a piece of plaid DSP that matched my fall colors and ran it through the upcoming Gathering Leaves embossing folder and sanded it with a sanding block:

I added a little sentiment with an enamel dot from Layers of Beauty, and put everything on a Cajun Craze card base:

I know my image is a wee bit larger than the one in the sketch but hopefully it's okay!  I really love this centerpiece set and hope to use it some more!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Happy Halloween Fun Fold for Creative Creases

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, it's the weekend!  I was asked to be a guest designer at Creative Creases this week; it's always interesting to come up with some creative "fun folds" to kick up our stamping!  I recently saw this card on Pinterest and thought I'd re-create it!  Thanks to Laura for her video!  So here we go:

There are four inside panels to the card; I used some Grapefruit Grove (and for the life of me, I don't know why I didn't use Pumpkin Pie!!!) for the base, and some Haunted Hues papers from Unity for the patterns.  I will write my greeting on the back!   Here's what it looks like unfolded:

I used an older stamp from Recollections for the two stamped panels; they were stamped with Black Memento ink and colored with SU Blends:

And it was fun to highlight some of these spooky papers too!

To keep the bulk together, I added a Black & Vanilla check ribbon!

I hope you'll play along with the Creative Creases challenge this week too! Maybe you'll be a guest designer as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

We were at a meeting last night and missed the show, but Dana took this picture of the northern lights; I am so bummed, but at least she and her family got to see them!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP709 Tic Tac Toe from Claire

Happy Sunday, peeps!  September has five Sundays, so that means the Paper Players get to have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, with Claire as our hostess!  Here's her board:

My original plan was the middle row across of orange, diecut and stencil, but I also managed to do the left column of leaves, orange, and monochromatic!  My friend Martha gave me a nice leafy stencil that I had never used, so I set it up on some Very Vanilla cardstock and gathered some Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze inks and went to work:

After stenciling, I added some Itty Bitty Background dots, then ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine with a Subtle embossing folder.  My sentiment is from Unbounded Love; I stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla in Cajun Craze, then used a Stitched Leaf die to cut it out:

I found some Very Vanilla thick baker's twine in my stash, so I added it to the panel, then popped everything up on top of a Cajun Craze card base.  I left  the inside blank, so I can use it for whatever occasion might arise.  I forgot how much I love orange hues....when I was a senior, I remember under my picture in the yearbook, my favorite color  was.....orange! And since this week at Just Us Girls, they want us to use stencils, so I am entering it there as well!

I hope you'll find something in Claire's grid to tickle your fancy, so you can play with us over at the Players!

LIM489 A Little Hi From Me

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a good weekend!  I have an uber-easy, CAS note card today for the Less Is More one-layer photo challenge:

Isn't that a sweet inspiration photo?  It made me instantly think of one of my favorite SU stamps called Garden Pleasures....it has a sweet little straw hat and some wee little birdies!  So here we go:

I warned you it was uber-easy and CAS!  I stamped each image in Saddle Brown Stazon, then watercolored them with ink and an aquapainter.  I added a wee little bit of shading using an oval stencil and a blending brush.  I added some speckles too, very lightly stamped in Lemon Lolly ink:

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from Special Moments next to a little bird at the bottom of the card:

Cutie patootie!  Thanks for popping in today!

Saturday night ice cream night---even for the pups!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP645 CAS One-Layer Father's Day

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's Father's Day here in the US, and also time for a new Paper Players challenge with Jaydee as our hostess!  And it's Clean-and-Simple time!  Here's her CAS theme:

ONE LAYER!  That means just one piece of cardstock, folded in half, then stamped!!  I had lots of ideas but one-layer is challenging, isn't it? I kept wanting to add more stuff!  In the end, this is the one-layer notecard I created:

I hadn't broken into my Gone Fishing set yet, and Wayne is an avid fisherman, so I thought it would be a perfect way to create a Father's Day card for him.  I originally started on a regular-sized card, but the images looked a little dwarfed, so I trimmed it down to a note card.  Before stamping each set of images, I used the retired Watercolor Shapes and stamped a rectangle in Antique Linen Distress ink. I don't often use Distress inks, but I feel like they made my other inks bleed a little bit; I'll have to do some further experimenting with them!  I just love these little lures and fishy:

I added some speckles to the rainbow trout with a Blushing Bride marker, too....I am not sure if that's what a rainbow trout looks like in real life, but it's gonna do for my card!  I added another lure and a sentiment from the same set on the inside:

My last part was to stamp "For You" from Country Bouquet, then add a little Linen Thread to the card front....it helped to offset the rectangles that I didn't stamp quite in the center!  I am going to enter this over at the Krafty Chicks as well, as their challenge this week is Clean and Simple too!

I hope that our one-layer Clean-and-Simple challenge doesn't challenge you too much, because we'd love to see how creative you can be with it!  Be sure to check out the Design Team's samples over at the Paper Players blog....then share yours with us too!

The kids went to the Delaware shore yesterday, leaving early in the morning in Wayne's jeep....with no sides or roof!  Brrrr!  Both Cassidy and her friend Gia were well bundled-up!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB157 Vintage Sketch

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for a new RetroRubber challenge, where we encourage you to use your older stamps!  We have a sketch for you today:

What a great sketch...lots of layers to play with!  As I was trying to "clean" my craft room, I remembered I hadn't played with these two sets from 2010 and 2011:  French Foliage and Nature Walk.  I also haven't done a vintage-style card for a while, so here we go:

I started with some vintage ephemera background papers, probably from My Mind's Eye, but they were in my scrap bin, so I don't know the maker for sure; I stamped images on a Naturals White panel in Stazon Black, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand, and lightly stenciled a pattern over them:

I added some "splatters", a couple of honeycomb diecuts in silver glimmer paper and a tattered organdy rose, which also had some glitter adhered to it.  I stamped the bird once on the panel and again on a scrap, then watercolored and fussy-cut him out:

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings; I did a bit of sponging as well to add to the shabby, vintage look.  It felt good to use all these sweet images and I always love a vintage-styled creation!

I hope you'll play along with our RetroRubber sketch this week; just remember to use stamps at least a year old, and tell us the approximate age!  Thanks for popping in today!

Three fun-lovin' girls!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI247 Speedy Blossoms

Happy Good Friday, everyone!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's the exhilarating SPEED STAMPING!  Woohoo!  We'd like to see your stamped creations be completed in ten minutes or less!  And here's your inspiration:
Well, I'll tell you....despite having all my supplies lined up and ready, I just barely squeaked this one in at 9 minutes and 45 seconds!  My initial design didn't quite work so I was scrambling to correct it.  In the end, this is what I came up with:

I used the sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday:

and I chose one of my favorite go-to (but soon retiring) floral stamps, Bloom and Grow!  I stamped the largest floral spray in Rococo Rose and diecut it with the matching die.  Before adhering it to my white mat, I used a Blender Brush to smooth on some Balmy Blue ink and added some speckles:

I popped it up with dimensionals, added a white ribbon for the banner and stamped the thank you sentiment at the bottom.  It all went on a Balmy Blue card base.  I always need thank you cards, so this will go in my stash!

You really need to be prepared for this challenge---so gather up your supplies, plan your design and GO!  See what you can create in ten minutes or less, then share it with us at the As You See It blog!  Be sure to tell us how long it to you to create your masterpiece, too!  Can't wait to see it!  Thanks for popping in today!

We'll be headed to my other nephew's for Easter on Sunday and we will be seeing this little guy with his new pet:

I am sure she has been laying some Easter eggs too!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fusion Nest of Eggs

Happy Saturday, peeps!  And happy SPRING, if you're in the Northern hemisphere!!  I am so glad to know that we might be able to sweep away that chilly weather soon!  And speaking of spring, I have a sweet little springy Easter card for you today; it uses both the sketch AND photo prompt from Fusion:

My friend Martha gave me some Easter egg dies a long time ago and I think this is the first I've used them:

I couldn't find any gingham DSP in my stash that suited me, so I printed some out on my computer!  The sentiment is from W+9, stamped in Memento Black and diecut with a die from Tasteful Labels dies.  I wanted to add a black border around it, but there is only one die in the set with that shape, so I cut two and adhered them together to create a mat:

My "nest" of eggs features eggs cut from Rococo Rose, Naturals White, Soft Seafoam, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake; I sponged them and speckled them with Crumb Cake and Memento Black ink.  I "gathered" them together with a bit of Braided Linen Trim!  This is actually a remake of this card:

I decided I didn't like the pink striped background, so I disassembled it and used the gingham paper instead!  I am also entering this in the Inspire.Create Anything Goes challenge, and the Sugar Pea Mix It Up challenge:

Thanks for visiting today---be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
