PPA282 CAS Wedding Card

Happy Saturday, all!  We are off to a wedding today, and I am using the Pals Paper Arts sketch for my clean and simple card:

PPA-282-Jan07

I wasn't sure of the bride's colors, but I do know she used burlap for some of the decorations, so I used a piece of burlap ribbon for my horizontal piece, along with some beautiful florals from the English Garden DSP:

I used a retired set called Word Play for my sentiment, stamped in Old Olive; the scallop circle mat is Blushing Bride, and the card base is Crumb Cake.  Of course, I had to add a wee bit of bling:

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to pop back in tomorrow for the next Paper Players challenge!

I don't have any pix of Cassidy today, but I thought I'd share a couple of bird shots...my feeders have been busy now that the weather has gotten colder!  For Christmas, my niece gave me a little feeder she made from a teacup, filled with suet and seed...it was a wee bit difficult for the birds to hang onto the smooth edge of the cup as it hung from a hook, so I nestled it in the branches of my butterfly bush.  This red-bellied woodpecker quite enjoyed it (sorry for the blurriness, as these were taken from inside!):

Try Stampin on Tuesday 232

DSCF1586

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It’s time for a new Try Stampin’ on Tuesday challenge!  This week we have this sketch (and I realize I forgot the little embellishments on the left side, ooops!) as well as the optional theme of “Happy”:

I needed a wedding card, and I am trying to use up some of my huge stash of DSP, so I thought this floral design from a few years ago would be pretty:

The main sentiment is from SU’s retired Word Play, stamped in Always Artichoke; the florals are from Everything Eleanor, stamped in Soft Sky.  The congrats is from a big set of sentiments gifted to me by my friend Martha!  I added a panel of embossed hearts, and the banner is woodgrain-embossed as well, to add to the botanical theme:

And of course, I had to add a “diamond” to the ring!!  And the inside uses the same sentiment set, along with some little hearts:

I hope you’ll play along at the TSOT challenge blog this week….we have a FB page too, you are more than welcome to share your creation there as well!

We gave Cassidy her big gift yesterday morning; the suspense was mounting:

We know she needs a helmet (it was at home) and perhaps froggy boots weren’t the best choice of footwear, but she gave it a go:

We definitely need practice…and we still have training wheels on the bike she got last year!  But she had fun!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 198

DSCF3316

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Sandy is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a great theme challenge for us:

This theme could be for weddings or for anniversaries…..I just happened to need a wedding card for my niece’s upcoming nuptials!  Sandy’s challenge gave me a chance to use a sentiment from the retired Word Play…this sentiment had never even been inked up!  Here ya go:

Paige’s colors are gold and pink, so I heat embossed the sentiment in Gold Glory embossing powder:

and stamped the leaves from Papillion Potpourri in Encore Gold ink on some MME papers.

I adhered the layers to a Confetti White card base; some pleated ribbon in Blushing Bride completed the look.  I used Mary Jo’s Technostamper sketch 316 from this week as well:

As you know, this is probably my favorite go-to sketch, so I had to play along!  Now, what wedding-themed creation will you share with us this week?  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Check out the beautiful samples the design team has created…they will knock your socks off!

Seize the Birthday Wish Big

DSCF0763-001

Hi everyone!  We made it to Wednesday!  I have a very simple card today, a birthday card for my nephew and I am using the Seize the Birthday challenge of using chevrons.  This is a unabashed CASE of this card by Brenda, which I absolutely adored!!!  I found some chevron paper in the Fresh Prints pack, and I used a retired SU set called Word Play, along with the car from Rev up the Fun:

I added a little additional chevron from the Tasteful Trim die, and it was done!  Nice and easy!!!

Paper Players 128

DSCF2163

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I am looking forward to celebrating today with all my hostesses!  So this will be QUICK!  It’s Anne Marie’s turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players, and she has chosen this contemporary color combo for us:

I thought that little whale in the new set Oh, Whale! would be perfect for these colors:

The background paper is from the new DP, Sunshine and Sprinkles; sentiment is from Word Play; the sketch is from Sketch Frenzy Friday:

I couldn’t help giving my little whale a couple of little eyelashes too:

Hope you can play along with us!  Wiggle on over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers came up with using these fun colors!  We can’t wait to see what you create!

Mojo Monday 274

DSCF2040

It’s been a long, long time since I played with a Mojo Monday sketch!  I needed a masculine birthday card, and I made a resolution to use some stamps and papers that I have been “hoarding”, so this was a good time to break them out!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

DSCF2039

I used some “Wanted” DP from Cosmo Cricket; a Unity stamp, which was heat embossed and watercolored; and some cool new SU burlap ribbon and another cute little pop top:

DSCF2041

Again, I found a use for those Itty Bitties stamps…..they are growing on me, those little things!!  This itty bitty star was a perfect embellishment for my country-themed card!  And on the inside, I added some more of that cool DP as well as a sentiment from Word Play:

Thanks for visiting today---and remember, if you have a question, please send me an email…..I cannot answer questions if they come through the comment section anonymously!!!

SRC156

DSCF1910

I have been making thank you cards since Christmas; this one is for a male friend of ours from church, so it gave me a chance to use some cool papers from Echo Park along with a couple of SU sentiments:

DSCF1908

The front uses a sentiment from Blessings from Heaven; I actually cut this sentiment apart, which makes it much easier to ink up the “friend” in a different color, as I did here!  And since I am hand-delivering this, I was happy to use a corduroy button as an accent!

Word Play was the sentiment I used for the inside, and I used a couple of dies from Apothecary Accents for some added interest!

DSCF1909

For my sketch, I used the Stampin’ Royalty sketch #156:

Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy was enthralled by my nephew’s iPhone….she knew just how to make it work, too!  The look of concentration…….
