PP448 Birthday Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and Joanne has a great tic-tac-toe challenge for us today!  They're always fun!  Here's the grid:

I chose the center column of patterned paper (current DSP from SU), yellow (So Saffron and Daffodil Delight) and birthday (Itty Bitty Greetings):

I began my stamping one of the florals from Bloom and Grow in Sahara Sand ink.  These large images can be intimidating, even to me!  But they color up very quickly, really!  I colored this one with a Crumb Cake center, Daffodil Delight light and dark petals, and Mint Macaron leaves.  Then I diecut it with the matching die, and instead of layering it on top of the gingham, I also cut the gingham with the die and "inlaid" the colored image inside.  Just a little thing, but I like the effect it gives:

I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake and diecut it with the Nested Labels dies, adding a little burlap ribbon underneath, along with a few metallic pearls!  I love these colors together!  And since the Festive Friday challenge this week is featuring yellow, I am entering there as well!

I hope you'll play along with us this week too....lots of fun possibilities with a tic-tac-toe grid!  Share you creation with us, and check out what the DT did at the Paper Players blog or click below:

No Cassidy pix today, she's on vacation with her daddy, but look what visited us in our back field on Friday morning:

There were four at first, but one ran off....the others were quite content to stare at us, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Over the Moon Birthdays

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I had a little free stamping time yesterday after Day One of our yardsale, so I made a couple of cards using the CAS on Sunday color palette as well as the Time Out challenge:

I rarely make funny cards, and I don't know why....but the Over the Moon set with its cute little cows (and the fact that I grew up on a farm!) appealed to me, so this is my first card using it:

I went very CAS on this one, using one layer only of thick white cardstock so my Blends wouldn't bleed through so much.  I stamped little bossy in Memento black and using the challenge colors to color her in.  I also stamped the flower on some gingham DSP, and added a Blend-colored rhinestone to the center:

I made another card with the same colors because I LOVED them together, and this one was a little more stepped up, using some DSPs in Pool Party and So Saffron, and stamping the cow and another birthday sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet on a piece of regular white cardstock, then diecutting it out with a Stitched Rectangle die.

The die didn't quite reach around the flower, so I stamped it again on a scrap and colored it with a marker and added some Wink of Stella to the center, as well as to her boots:

I didn't add quite as much shading and detail with the Blends, but I did add some sequins and a ribbon, so it qualifies for the Just Add Ink challenge:

Thanks for popping in for a visit today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

Here are some of the flowers on my patio this summer:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS394 Sweetly Swirled

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I got a late start today, we are having another yard sale this weekend...the hottest weekend of the year so far, of course!  Anyway, I needed several thank you cards and the sketch from FMS was a nice easy one to use:

I hemmed and hawed about getting this Sweetly Swirled set, but I gave in and was happy that I did!  What a fun little set!  I stamped the largest oval swirl in Mint Macaron, stamping it first on scrap, then on Whisper White cardstock and diecut it with the largest Stitched Shape oval.  Then I went to work decorating it, the fun part!

I used Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue to accent my "wreath".  There are no dies to cut out the flowers, so I fussy cut the largest one and just stamped the others.  The sentiments are great in this set, too....perfect for my thank you card!  I accented my oval with a couple of Iridescent sequins and mounted it on a matching DSP!  It's going in the mail today...or maybe tomorrow, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!

TSOT414 Seaside Sympathy

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week, and the Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge had a nice sketch:

Originally, I had different papers and colors put together for this, but when I started stamping the shells from Seaside Notions, I went in a different direction, choosing Petal Pink and Crumb Cake:

I stamped the shells and used a sponge dauber to color each one lightly (easy to do!) and fussy-cut them, layering them on a stitched square on which was stamped the coral and the little speckles, then I added a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings:

I saved the ribbon from the gift my friend Wendy made and used it for a little accent, along with a wee piece of burlap ribbon and some metallic pearls:

I forgot to photograph the inside, but I used a sentiment from the new Here's A Card; it has lots of nice ones to choose from!

Thanks for popping in today....if you're having a heat wave like we are, relax and drink lots of water, and stay COOL!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

A Little Blue Hello

Happy Monday peeps, hope you had a great weekend!  The weather was marvelous here in PA!  I have a quick little card for you today using gingham again!  This time all the elements are SU!  I used the Global Design Project sketch (oops, missed that one!) and the Color My Heart Color Dare palette:

I feel my stamping has been really stale lately; I can't seem to get out of a rut, I need to try some new things (but this isn't one of them)!  Anyway, I took a sweet little flower from Bloom and Grow, embossed it in white on some Balmy Blue cardstock three times, then colored them in with two shades of blue Blends and diecut them with the matching die:

The Budding Blooms dies also come with two scalloped dies, so I used them to cut my Whisper White panel and gave it a little extra interest by adding some stitching, using a die from the Stitched Nested Labels set:

Finally, I stamped that cute little hello in Night of Navy ink and diecut it with a die from Stitched Labels, added a wee little bit of white twine and popped it up with some dimensionals.  It all went on top of a piece of Balmy Blue gingham DSP and a Balmy Blue mat!  Easy peasy!

Okay, here's something you don't see every day...and I guess you have to be of a certain age group to appreciate them.....pool floats called "Royal Flush".....I will let you draw your own conclusion!  But the kids loved them!  (I guess it's Walmart humor, LOL!)

On that note...enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP447 Happy Anniversary

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and we have a sketch this week from Jaydee:

What a great sketch, with TONS of possibilities!  My busy week got away from me and we decided to make a quick trip to the beach yesterday to clean out the last things from my dad's house, so I needed to make this card fast and simple!  I used some pretty DSPs from my stash of 6x6 papers, and added a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet to celebrate our friends' upcoming anniversary:

The Stitched Nested Labels dies make for such an impressive focal point for a simple sentiment:

I love it when the papers do most of the work!!  And I hope you'll find some pretty papers with which to play along!  We always love to see your creations in the Paper Players gallery!  Check out what the rest of the DT did at the Paper Players blog!

Summer fun!

Jackie kept asking me to take a "selfie" of her, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI203 My Favorite Color to Wear

Happy Friday, peeps!  Thankfully, our hot, humid, sticky weather is supposed to break today---yay!  Just in time for a fun As You See It challenge too...check this one out!

Image may contain: text

What a great idea!  My favorite colors to wear are anything in the peach/coral/orange family!  In fact, in my (1972) senior yearbook likes and dislikes, I list "orange" as my favorite color!  SO....I inked up some new stamps and went to work:

I used Flirty Flamingo for my DSP and to ink up Bloom and Grow twice; I then colored the blooms with Light Pumpkin Pie and Light Calypso Coral Blends.  These images diecut like a breeze...aren't they gorgeous?  I added a lacy border from the Arts and Crafts Die, and although you can't see it, another scalloped border of Calypso Coral:

My final addition was a stamped sentiment (Sweetly Swirled) and some Iridescent sequins:

My sketch is from FMS, although I totally spazzed about the sentiment placement!  Oh well!

Maybe this is a little too much orange-ness going on, but I love it anyway!  Hope you'll share something using your favorite colors too!  We can't wait to see it at As You See It!

Our local library had a Teddy Bear Picnic in the park yesterday, and Cassidy, Lee, Lee's mom and sister all attended; we brought our lunches, listened to Miss Lisa read some books, and then the kids played games and did a coloring craft:

It was a nice way to spend our lunch hour!  Thanks for popping by today--enjoy it and be blessed!
