Merry Monday 76

DSCF8164

Happy Monday peeps!  Wow, fall is upon us for sure here in PA!  It was a chilly but beautiful weekend!  I am getting excited for the upcoming holidays!  Here is Lesley’s Merry Monday challenge for us today:

Now, I know that the colors in this challenge are cool hues, but the only criteria is to use a snowman on one’s card!  So I went in a different direction…. here is my take on the challenge:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 76 Snow Much Fun

I haven’t done a card with lots of detail like this for a while, and it was so fun!  I used the  fall sketch from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMCFALL13-04

as well as the color challenge 207 from JUGS:

I had a card already embossed with the snowflake embossing, so I used that as my base, adding the layers and my stamped image.  I wheeled the red piece with a retired snowflake wheel, and brayered some Crumb Cake ink on the polka dot paper so it wouldn’t seem so starkly white.  Of course my little snowman was stamped, colored, cut out and popped up for dimension:

I gave him a couple extra snowballs to juggle, and he is even standing on a little snowy hill!  I punched out a sentiment from the same set with my Modern Label punch:

And I added a little stamping on the inside as well:

Snowmen are so much fun for Christmas cards, so I hope you will play along with us at Merry Monday!  Check out Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper, for all the details as well as the lovely designs from the others!

Cassidy knew just what to do with this spatula….even though the gingersnaps were a wee bit too “snappy” for her taste!  Notice the partially-eaten one on the table!

Merry Monday 48

DSCF2733

Happy Merry Monday, peeps!  Lesley has a color challenge for our Christmas cards today:

Yikes!  Try as I may, I couldn’t come up with anything for these colors except a snowman….so that’s what I went with:

MM48-LeAnne

I stamped this little guy in Basic Gray, then added a little dry embossing; a little watercoloring; and a lot of glitter!   It also uses the sketch #11  from Fab Friday:

I ended up liking it a lot!

I hope you’ll put on your stocking cap and come up with something fabulous with these colors!!  I know you can do it!  Share it with us over at Always Playing with Paper, and check out what the other Merry Monday stampers have created as well!

Cassidy tried to put on her headband by “self”!  LOL!

Thank You Snow Much!

DSCF0165-1

I needed a couple of thank you cards…these were simple and cute, and I got a chance to ink up some stamps I hadn’t used for a while:

DSCF0164-1

I tried to use the word “snow” from the Snow Much Fun set to put over top the “so, so” in this phrase from Delightful Dozen, but it just wasn’t working, so I just crossed it out and wrote it with a Calypso Coral marker….a little play on words!  I colored Mr Snowman with a white watercolor crayon and some markers for his scarf & hat:

Oh, and a cute little glittery heart, too!  The second one was more clean and simple, using a little image from Every Little Bit and some red glimmer paper:

The little ornament was colored with markers and iced with glitter, too:

Thanks for visiting—be sure to come back tomorrow for the ColourQ challenge!

Paper Players 56

DSCF2398

Hi everyone!  It’s Sunday and that means a challenge from the Paper PlayersAnne Marie is our hostess today and she’s got a fun sketch for us:

PP56 sketch

To fulfill my once-a-week Christmas card challenge to myself, I made another card using the Snow Much Fun set (again), and I took the liberty of moving the sentiment because it just fit better with my image:

PP56

It’s a little smaller than a standard card, so there is room for the sentiment to extend and still fit in a standard envelope.  The base is Island Indigo with a surprise pop of Calypso Coral for a mat.  His little carrot nose and the brad embellishment help pull the colors together.   Mr. Snowman is stamped in Stazon on Crumb Cake and watercolored and markered and glittered and he is just a happy fellow:

I even glittered up the sentiment a little!

I hope that you will play with the Paper Players this week because we’d love to see your take on this fun sketch!

CAS x 3

DSCF0148

Today at SCS, the CAS challenge is to make tall, thin cards!  No problem! I managed to eke out three of them this morning while the baby was napping:

DSCF0147

This is for a couple from our church who just had a baby!  Both the gingham and image are Cornish Heritage Farms.

DSCF0141

Here’s a fun CAS card using the new Snow Much Fun set from SU!  Mr. Snowman is stamped on textured WW and colored with blender pens and reinkers. Isn’t that Lucky Limeade scarf cute?  He’s got a liberal sprinkling of snow in the form of Dazzling Diamonds as well:

DSCF0142

And finally, a cute smaller thank you using some Technique Tuesdays and MFT stamps:

DSCF0143

I wish my blues had matched a little better….this one was colored with Copics, not too much shading as it is one layer and I didn’t want it to bleed too much on the other side!

We had a busy weekend; one event we attended was my niece’s graduation party.  Did I get any photos of my niece???? NOT ONE….where was my brain?  Did get a couple photos of family members and the baby, along with my SIL’s unbelievable backyard garden.  They live in Philadelphia, and we are country folk….so just driving to the city made me nervous!  Once we saw the flowers and trees in her backyard, we felt much more at home:

It was  a little overcast, so the vibrancy of the colors isn’t captured as well as it should have been---they were gorgeous!  And here is Miss Cassidy, sitting on Uncle Charlie’s lap, enjoying her pretzel:

Thanks for visiting today!
