Candle Christmas

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a card that was definitely a labor of love....but I love the end result, so it was worth it! I don't always have the time to do these types of cards, but it was a "chill" kind of day, so I went with it!  I am using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week, as well as the FarmQuest Theme challenge of country light:

So here we go:

This card is pretty large, about 4" x 6 5/8", but it will fit in a business envelope or a larger one from my stash!  I diecut and stamped many elements for this card, using an older W+9 stamp called Merry and Bright.  Of course, over the years, I have lost two of the stamps....the flame and the berries, so I had to hand-create them with some markers, and I almost lost another one, but I found it stuck to the bottom of my Stamparatus!  Phew!  Anyway, I used every single of the elements, just sticking them around the candle here and there:

I debated on adding a ribbon and in the end, just opted for some simple twine.  The background DSP is SU's Tiding of Christmas and it's on top of a Real Red mat.

And speaking of lots of greenery and embellishments, Dana and some of her coworkers attended a wreath-making class at the same winery where her birthday party was held:

A girl after my own heart--she chose a buffalo plaid ribbon and vintage bells for her wreath!  Here they all are....just gorgeous!

And here they are again....can you see their faces peeking out from the openings in the wreath?  CUTE!

They even had a "door" on which to display them:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

More Christmas Stamp Camp Projects

Hi peeps!  Another quick post; these are the other two projects we did at my Christmas card stamp camp:

These little ornaments are Lawn Fawn dies I've had for years and I think this is the first time I've used them!  They "hang" on branches from the retired Christmas Pines set, and the sentiment is from Good Greetings, also retired. They all have some glittery doodads on them as well!

This one uses a retired set called To You & Yours, stamped in Misty Moonlight, and it's mounted on a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock diecut with the retired Card Front Builder die.  We added an accent of silver More Dazzle paper; it's simply a Stitched So Sweetly diecut, cut in half.

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Love must be completely sincere.  Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good.  Love one another warmly as Christians, and be eager to show respect for one another.  Work hard and do not be lazy.  Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion.  Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.  Share your belongings with your needy fellow Christians, and open your homes to strangers.  Romans 12:9-13

Club Projects

Hello stampers, happy Tuesday! I didn't have time to stamp yesterday, so I thought I'd share a couple of the projects my stampers made last night at my last "Christmas In" stamp camp:

The above one uses some retired SU papers along with an embossing folder from Tim Holtz, all on a  Call Me Clover card base.  It was embellished with some glimmer paper stars....easy and fun!

This one uses a stamp from Stampendous called Christmas Background.  It was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and sponged with Crumb Cake to give it an aged look.  A little pinecone and evergreen sprig embellished it, along with a Sweet Sorbet ribbon, which looked better in real life than it does here, although it definitely does has a pink tinge to it!

I'll be back tomorrow with two more!  And on a funny note, when we were at the wee little Cookie Cottage, we were asked to put our names in a hat for a drawing.  John had already gone back outside, but the proprietor told me to put his name in also.  So imagine his surprise on Monday morning when she called John and told him he won a dozen springerle cookies!  He didn't even know he entered!  So we'll be getting twelve of those pretty little treats!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS613 Christmas Joy & Peace

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend! My last Christmas card stamp camp is tonight so this will be quick!  I was intrigued by the FMS sketch for this week:

And here's my take on it:

My papers are digital papers from The Old Design Shop on Etsy.  I added a slim border of Mossy Meadow and a strip of Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper for the horizontal piece.  I diecut a Simon Says Stamp sentiment and added a little piece of vellum to soften the print on which the sentiment is popped up:

A Papertrey Ink stamp was stamped on the inside in Mossy Meadow ink.

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP668 Let It Snow Sketch

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I took a little blogging break over Thanksgiving, but I'm back!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Ann is our Paper Players hostess this week and she has an interesting sketch for us; I don't think I've ever done a sketch like it, but it was fun for sure!  Here it is:

As I was lying in bed a couple nights ago, having one of those sleepless nights, I remembered this pretty Let It Snow DSP from a couple of years ago, so I used that as my jumping-off point; here we go:

I had a piece of DSP that was 6" in width; I cut the length to about 4" and laid it on the card front at an angle, so the bottom left and top right corners of the card met the edges of the DSP.  I adhered it, then trimmed off the little triangle pieces left behind!

I then added some Stitched Rectangle panels and a diecut snowflake from Fun Stampers Journey:

I embellished it with a snowflake sequin and a red rhinestone, then added a diecut Simon Says Stamp sentiment sitting on top of a Radiating Stitches circle on which I had stamped a few red snowflakes.  That diecut circle just reminds me of a paper plate and now I can't get that image out of my head, LOL!  Another SSS sentiment was added to the inside:

I love red and white for Christmas, and I think this was a fun sketch!  I hope you'll play along with our fun sketch too!  Share whatever you create over at the Paper Players blog...can't wait to see it!

I have been following the Springerle House on FB for some time because their springle cookies (made from dough similar to shortbread, then pressed into a mold to create an intricate design) were so beautiful!  They said they had a small shop where they sold some of the cookies (it's mostly mail-order and the bakery is on another site), so I wanted to go see this little shop.  It was about a 45-minute ride, so I conned John into taking me.  I warned him it might not be quite what we expected; needless to say, here is the shop:

It is literally an 10' x 12' shed in someone's back yard!  But it was as cute as a button inside:

John was more intrigued by the construction of the shed than anything else!  I got these ornaments, which are actually made of cookie dough, so they're fragile but should last a long time if cared for properly:

I also got this one, which is not cookie dough, but some sort of volcanic ash and clay (?? I think), then molded and painted:

They're small...no more than a couple of inches high but oh so pretty. They did have samples to taste, but it was an almond one, and I don't like almond, so it's better for me just to look at them!

Thanks for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

RetroRubber 220 Watercolor Birthday

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Are your Thanksgiving plans in high gear?  Lots of things to do! My card today uses the Tic Tac Toe grid from Retro Rubber, and I chose to make a special birthday card!  I chose the left row down of frame, diecut & ribbon:

I wanted to use a set that was still current but would fit the criteria of being at least a year old, so I chose Color & Contour (2021) to create a pretty flower to sit atop my frame:

I used watercolor paper for my image, stamping it first with markers, then using an aquapainter and inks to color it in.  After diecutting it, I mounted it on a Garden Green frame, diecut with the Scalloped Contours die.  I cut an opening in it with the Stitched Rectangle die, which made an interesting double line of stitching!  That all went on a panel of Basic White, embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder, then on a Petal Pink card base:

A sentiment from Best Family Ever was stamped in Poppy Parade (oops, I forgot, this is not an old set...sorry, Retro Rubber!):

A Petal Pink ribbon and some Silver Loose sequins were my added embellishments.  On the inside, more words from Best Family Ever, along with some florals stamped with Versamark ink:

Love that subtle effect!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC552 Happy Christmas

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have sweet little card today that uses a fun sketch from Atlantic Hearts!  Check it out:

I couldn't wait to play with some new papers that I recently got from Unity, so I mixed and matched and came up with this:

My card base is Pear Pizzazz, with a Poppy Parade mat, and the Unity papers are Winter Flowers.  The papers on the left side all measure 1 5/8" wide, and the top piece is 2 1/2" and the lower two are 1 1/4".  The papers on the right side all measure 2" wide by 1 5/8" high.  Just be sure if you have a pattern that is directional, to cut them in the right orientation. You don't want your patterns to be upside down or sideways!  I stamped a Simon Says Stamp sentiment in Old Olive and diecut it, then added a Petal Pink banner behind it.  To mimic the little holly leaves on one of the papers, I used a Magical Meadow die to cut two holly leaves from Soft Seafoam, then added some red pearls:

I just love the soft colors in these papers!  Another for my stash!

Dana sent me pictures of the pups while they were watching the Eagles play; they may have their Eagles shirts on, but who can tell, since they're all wrapped up in their Christmas blankets!  The look on Eden's face:

Ginger looks like the Eagles might have just scored a touchdown!

Thanks for indulging me with the "grand-dogs"!!  And thanks for visiting today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FarmQuest Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Monday, peeps!  A busy week ahead, right?  It's hoppin' here in the Pugliese household, and we've already had our T-giving celebration!  At least on my side of the family....John's side will be having theirs on Thursday, so I am looking forward to that!

To thank my niece and her hubby for hosting our family Thanksgiving, I wanted to send them a Thanksgiving-themed thank you card, and the FarmQuest challenge this month is turkeys! SU had a nice turkey set a couple of years ago so I put it to work on my card:

I had this deckle-edged piece of patterned paper in my stash, unused from another project, so I put it to use here with Mr Turkey!  He is stamped in Copper Clay, and I layered him with another piece of burlap-print paper and a panel of Copper Clay cardstock embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder.  The sentiment from the set was diecut and added to the front as well:

A simple Happy Thanksgiving sentiment was stamped on the inside of the Honey Nut cardstock from Papertrey.

And speaking of turkeys, my niece's husband, besides being a chef, is an avid hunter.  In their little spare office room, this is sitting on a rustic armoire:

Yep.....a REAL stuffed turkey!  Quite impressive it was, too!  Thanks for visiting today---enjoy it and be blessed!

PP667 CAS Tag, You're It!

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and it's Clean and Simple week!  Yay!  Our theme is "Tag, You're It"....we want to see a CAS creation featuring a tag!  It's holiday time, so tags are a fun accessory for gift packaging, but it doesn't have to be just for a package...it can be a tag on your card or scrapbook page, or whatever you want! Just make sure it's CAS!

I chose to use some Azure Afternoon DSP and a fun diecut from Spellbinders to make a birthday card! Here we go:

My tag is a 2" strip of DSP, punched with a tag topper punch at the top and a corner rounder at the bottom.  I cut the die from some Azure Afternoon cardstock, and backed it with a scalloped circle, then adhered it to the tag.  My 4 1/4" square card allows the tag to pop up a little; I added some Iridescent ribbon for fun.  The little twinkles are from Picture Perfect Birthday, one of my all-time favorites; the Stamparatus ensured perfect placement!

A sentiment from the same sets, along with some more twinkles, went on the inside!

I resisted putting some doodads or embellishments on it, keeping it CAS!  I hope you'll play along with our CAS challenge too!  The design team came up with some amazing projects!  Be sure to visit over at the Paper Players blog to see them, and share yours with us as well!

Eden is just chillin'....she somehow folded over the edge of her bed to make a custom pillow!  She's so funny!  Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!

SS322 Sailing Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps! Happy to see the weekend arrive!  Yesterday was John's birthday, so we'll be going out with friends and family tonight to celebrate. One of the first things he said yesterday was "I wish I was going sailing today!"  He hasn't had a sailboat for several years, so I did the next best thing for him, even though it was made a few days earlier, LOL!

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

as well as papers from Come Sail Away and the sailboat from Sailing Home.  Because some of the paper had a linen print on it, I over-stamped the sailboat with the Linen background stamp, then colored it with a marker:

I also used a scribbly stamp from Label Me Bold for the background circular diecut, then added some Brushed Metallic embellishments.  The largest mat also was embossed with Stitched With Whimsy.  On the inside, I added a sentiment from Label Me Bold as well as Throughout the Year:

He loved it!  Thanks so much for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.  Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion.  The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet!  Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.  He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this?  Even the wind and the waves obey him!"  Mark 4:37-41

Funky Little Yuletide Greetings

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a fun, funky little Christmas card today....I had an idea, but it sort of morphed into something else! Anyway, it uses an unusual color palette from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, and the sketch from Retro Rubber, as well as the inspiration photo from Inspired By!  Phew!

So here we go:

This card began as note-card sized, but got trimmed down a bit as it was a little bottom-heavy!  My tree stamp is from Stamplorations and has to be at least ten years old!  I stamped it in Versafine Black ink on a piece of Kraft paper, then added some really old washi tapes and a couple of sticker greetings from Tim Holtz:

I diecut some white stars to embellish it, then mounted it on a white card.  Simple and easy!  Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Jesus answered him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me."  John 14:6
