Summery Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  My only complaint is that it went by too quickly!  I did get in a wee bit of stamping time, and found a few challenges that piqued my interest: the Just Us Girls summer challenge; the Less Is More color challenge of Tangerine, Aqua and White; and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

A Day at the Beach is a great summery set, and since it was in the Occasions catalog from a couple of years ago, I never got to use it that much!  So I inked up a couple images and colored them with some Blends, then heat-embossed a sentiment on some Pumpkin Pie DSP and put them all together to create this:

You can't see it here, but there is Wink of Stella on each of the elements, and I added some Iridescent Sequins for some extra shine!  Such happy colors!  Thanks for popping in today!

And speaking of summer, Wayne helped Cassidy enjoy the pool this weekend:

What a great step-daddy he is!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB76 Lemon Yellow

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The end of the week is approaching, yay!  It's time for another Inspired By challenge, and I just got stalled on this one!  I ended up doing what I normally do when I can't come up with an idea...I just throw some elements together randomly, maybe keeping a cohesive shape or theme, and that's what I did today!  You can see I used the square from the Stitched Shapes dies in different patterns and colors:

So let's look to see what stumped me:

A gorgeous table setting, right?!  Don't those lemons and greenery look amazing!  They DO...but I have NO lemon stamps, nothing even close!!  Hence my random elements!  I used some retired SU DSPs, some gifted DSP, a retired set for a sentiment, and some little embellishments on each square.  It's all mounted on an polka-dotted embossed mat, which is mounted on a 4 1/4" square Daffodil Delight card:

I didn't center the design to give it a little edgy look....in the end, I like it!  Hope you'll find something in that challenge photo that will inspire you!!  Hope you share it with us, too!  See you at Inspired By!

A busy day...both Cassidy and Eden were worn out:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF0027 and SS551 Wish Upon A Star

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a day off today for President's Day, and it's a good thing cuz I have a busy week coming up! I squeaked in some stamping time yesterday for two challenges:  Festive Friday and Sketch Saturday:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0027, Stampin Up, Stars

At first I was going to pass on the Festive Friday challenge, as I have NO stamps that are fairy-tale related, but I found this cool hologram unicorn paper that my friend Martha recently gave me, and I also received a new die from my friend Renita, so I thought I would put them together to create a dazzling, star-struck birthday card!  I did turn the sketch on the side to accommodate the paper:

After die-cutting the paper, I added a piece of silver foil behind the cut, heat embossed a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Upon a Star, and added some glimmer paper stars!

And on the inside, a sentiment from the retired Perfectly Wrapped along with some Swirly Stars from Close to My Heart:

So happy you popped in today!

Armed and dangerous, ready for Nerf Night..and sitting in her car seat!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTS273 and FF138 A Big Hooray

Happy Monday, peeps, and Happy Memorial Day if you live in the states!  We have nothing planned today, so it's a lazy day!  I should straighten up my craft room though!!  Anyway, here's a quick graduation card using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch and the colors from Fab Friday:

My sentiment is from the retired Perfectly Wrapped, as are the horizontal doodads; the florals are from the retired Bordering Blooms:

I stamped the solid images in the challenge colors, then colored in the outline images with SU markers:

I used a variety of sets to stamp the inside sentiments and then added a little fussy-cut grad hat:

Thanks for popping in today!!

Some people shop at yard sales....Cassidy climbs trees!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Two Fifties Make a Hundred - SIP100

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's a special day for the Stamp Ink Paper team...it's our 100th challenge!  Justin is challenging us to make a card with our favorite products this week!  And to sweeten the week, there is blog candy!  Check it out HERE!

Image may contain: text

I can honestly say that I don't have a single "favorite" stamp...each catalog, each season, each mood brings a favorite for me!!  So I really had a dilemma as to how to choose my favorite!  But my friend asked me to create a 50th wedding anniversary card for her, so I pulled out a few of my "favorite" products to make my card:

I started with thick white cardstock...I can definitely say that is a favorite, because it accepts ink, embossing and watercoloring very well!  Then I found a retired embossing folder which is just lovely, called Elegant Lines, and embossed a white panel to sit atop my card.  I know that gold is the color of 50th wedding anniversaries, but I didn't want gold foil, so I still had a few pieces of retired Brushed Gold cardstock and I created a window and a frame for my gold-embossed sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes....another versatile, favorite set!  It was embossed on vellum, and although you can't see behind it, there is music stamped in gold.  My final touches were some gold diecuts from the Flourish Thinlets, numbers from the Timeless Type die, and I added pearl accents to them and the embossed panel as well:

The photos just don't do it justice!!  For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Occasional Quotes in Gold Encore ink and added another gold diecut down the left side:

For even more shimmer, I stamped the flourish from Flourishing Phrases on the envelope in Gold Encore ink...so elegant!

Now just in case you were wondering about "two fifties make a hundred" from the title of my post...my friend also asked me to make a 50th birthday card with a bowling theme, so I printed a computer-generated image a couple of times, fussy-cut some of the pins, colored them and popped them up, to create this card!

I used the Large Numbers die, Labeler Alphabet for the sentiment and the Zig Zag embossing folder for the background!  SO...50 plus 50 equals 100, and it's the 100th challenge for Stamp Ink Paper!!!  And before I forget, let me show you my blog candy, which is winging its way to Justin to go to some lucky recipient!

A few little SU goodies all tucked away in a wee little package!  Hope you play along with us this week!  You could be a lucky winner!!

Each child in Cassidy's class made a video of themselves, telling what they liked about their teacher. One parent will put them all together to present to the teacher as a gift at the end of the school year. Cassidy wanted to get dressed up, and she was so wound up, I could barely get her to stand still to take a photo!

But the star of the show was the sandals....sparkly!  Too bad they won't make it into the video, LOL!

It's been rainy, so no work done on the addition!  But I'll keep you posted!  Have a wonderful day and be blessed!

Fusion Sketch Birthday

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I am glad this week is over, I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend! My college roommate has a birthday on Monday, so I looked through my cards but didn't find anything fresh and happy for her, so I went searching for a sketch and found this one at Fusion:

Although my intention was just to use the sketch, I guess with all the hearts going on here, it sort of qualifies for the photo as well!  Anyway, I just love these Simple Stories' I Am papers...they coordinate so well!  I paired them with some elements from Perfectly Wrapped to make her card:

I stamped the sentiment in Palette Noir black and Lost Lagoon, then diecut it with a circle die and backed it with a Lost Lagoon scallop diecut.  I had a little bit of Lost Lagoon thick baker's twine to add to the banner, and I found some stickers in my stash that were just begging to be added....they're translucent and in just the right colors!  I added them randomly around for some shiny fun!

And finally, I added a sentiment from Endless Wishes along with the Perfectly Wrapped ones and stuck a heart sticker inside too!  Thanks for popping in!

Despite the cold temps, Cassidy and my brother's grandsons insisted on sledding (I KNOW they slept well that night!).....Cassidy got a push from Chaz on the saucer:

and she spun around so much her scarf flew up in the air!

Here, Cassidy is giving Trent such a push that she is almost airborne herself!

And as a side note, the green sled had a small crack in the bottom until Grammy went down the hill on it....now there is BIG HOLE in it, and there were many tears.  Sigh, I guess I have to buy her another one!  Oh well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge!

CYCI143 Another Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  As I am sitting here posting this, there are little tiny white flakes fluttering outside...I know there are some areas that are getting buried in snow, but we haven't had a thing! Anyway, we are having DH's family Christmas tomorrow, along with two birthdays, so here is another birthday card; this one uses the Can You Case It sketch...I haven't played with them for a while!
143
I thought this was going to be a simple card, but I kept adding stuff to it!  I chose yellow and gray as my color palette...here we go:

I used Perfectly Wrapped and Jar of Love for my stamping, along with several stitched and scalloped dies:

I love the little row of hearts in the Everyday Jars framelits set:

I sprinkled the cutouts inside and out!

A few more pix of Cassidy opening her Advent calendar!  One day she got gold, silver and bronze Sharpies!  Woohoo, Grammy might have to borrow these!

The only disadvantage to opening the calendar first thing in the morning is that she wants to try everything out right away and we can't get her to eat breakfast!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
