Just a Little Note for CASC&S583

Happy Thursday, all!  You know I like things in threes and when I saw the Clean & Simple Colours & Sketches challenge this week, I was quite happy:

I did a class recently at my neighborhood retirement center and had some leftover pieces from that project, so I used them for my project:

The butterflies were diecut with some Shimmer Pool Party cardstock, then layered on a butterfly-embossed piece of Basic White.  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps' Whittle Sayings, using an Impression Obsession Small Tags die.

Here is the original project; I just used two of the single butterflies and trimmed one from the trio for the above card:

I am also entering this at Krafty Chicks, where they're looking for Clean and Simple too!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.  He is like a tree growing newar a stream and sending out roots to the water.  It is not afraid when hot weather comes, because its leaves stay green; it has no worries when there is no rain; it keeps on bearing fruit."  Jeremiah 17:7-8

AYSI368 Happy Easter

Hello again, peeps! Another post today, because it's As You See It time!  This week we have a lovely sketch:

Because I was really short on time, I let the papers from SU's Easter Joy do all the heavy lifting on my card:

I used a full 4"x6" panel from one of the sheets, diecut a striped egg from another and added a banner sentiment from the retired Easter Friends.  My little bunny is actually diecut from velveteen paper--so soft and fuzzy! Isn't he cute, hopping along?

And a sweet little sentiment on the inside:

I hope you'll find something in your array of stamping supplies to use on our sketch this week!  We can't wait to see what you create! See what the Design Team did with it as well, at the As You See It blog! Thanks for visiting again today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Club Projects

Hello friends, happy Friday!  I am sharing today the two projects my stamp clubs made for this month!  Here we go:

The first project uses the Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Masks (stencils), which sadly are backordered until the first part of April.  We used Blending Brushes to color in the layers in shades of Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Poppy Parade, then the leaves in Granny Apple Green:

A sentiment from Easter Friends, some speckles from Quiet Meadow and a few sequins finished it off before mounting it on a Granny Apple Green card base!

Here's another one, same design, but with Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie!

Our second project used the Ombre Gift Bags, but we stepped them up a notch by turning them into a paper bag shape and decorating them with the little duck from Easter Friends:

It's quite easy to transform these flat bags.....simply score along the two sides and bottom at 3/4", just taking care not to score too hard so as not to tear the bag.  Here's one I started:

Fold each section and score with a bone folder, then put your hand inside the bag to open it out and begin to shape it.  You'll see what I mean when you do it!  The outer edges of the bottom of the bag will form two little triangles; glue these down (I put two acrylic blocks inside the bag and press down to get a good seal).

Fold the sides inward on the score lines, and you have a bag!

Just a heads-up...decorate your bag after you score the sides but before you begin to form it...much easier that way!  We colored Mr Ducky with some Daffodil Delight ink, added a sentiment from A Wish For Everything, diecut the Shimmery White panel with the Scalloped Contour die and then added a butterfly from Positive Thoughts.  We put some Easter candy inside and tied it shut with some Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Dana shared her sunset picture with me yesterday:

"The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.  But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken."  Psalm 37:14-15

JAI594 Masked Bouquet

Hello stampers!  Hope you have a fun weekend planned!  We are supposed to see a school play of Shrek this afternoon, but the forecast isn't looking too good!  Crazy weather!  Well, I have a spring-like card for you today, (inspired by my friend Joanne) for the Just Add Ink challenge of masking!

And here we go:

First, you can see Joanne's card HERE.  I was inspired by the way she used multiple colors with her stencil but I couldn't seem to create the same effect without getting ink where I didn't want it!  So I traced the smaller flowers as well as the center flowers (as a pair) onto some scrap paper, then snipped them out to create a mask. I placed the masks on top of my stencil, covering the areas I didn't want to get ink, and although it was a little tricky, it worked!  I used Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody for the larger flowers and Blushing Bride and Poppy Parade for the smaller ones.  The leaves are all Pear Pizzaz, I just used a heavier hand on the one set:

I added a Poppy Parade mat, and stamped a sentiment from Easter Friends in Poppy Parade too.  It all went on a card that I covered with a pretty print from Sweet Symmetry, and finally, added some red sequins and Frayed White ribbon banners.  Thanks for popping in today!

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:  He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." Isaiah 37:5-6

Enjoy your day and be blessed, and continue to pray for Ukraine!

AHC461 Happy Easter

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a card to share that should have taken no time at all to make, but my original plan didn't quite pan out, so back to the drawing board I went!  It uses the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

and some cute papers from Nina Stajner called Little Fawn and Friends.  So here we go:

Still struggling with getting my photos to brighten but hopefully you'll get the idea!  I originally planned to stamp a bunny and use it as my focal point but it just wasn't working, and those cute bunnies on the paper itself seemed to be appropriate just as they were!  So I diecut them with a stitched circle die, added a Baked Brown Sugar scalloped mat, then added some coordinating Petal Pink DSP and a little strip of Mossy Meadow embossed with a die from Ellen Hutson:

I added a little sentiment from the retired Teeny Tiny Wishes, used a banner die to cut it out, and then added some enamel dots to complement!

And a sentiment from Easter Friends was stamped on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!

Dana and Wayne are getting new furniture, so they got new beds for Ginger and Eden so they won't be tempted to jump on the new stuff!  Ginger was thrilled:

Eden, not so much:

LOL, she probably thinks she's being punished!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS520 Duckling Congrats

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I've got a baby congrats card to share with you today, and it uses one of those adorable little critters from Easter Friends!  This little duckling seemed perfect for that special occasion:

I stamped my little duck on Shimmery White cardstock and colored her in with reinkers, then fussy-cut her out.  Once I assembled my background, I stamped the image again on top of the background DSPs and popped her up with dimensionals.  It's just impossible to fussy cut around all her little fuzziness, so stamping the image again in the background lets the fuzzies show through:

I used the sketch from FMS:

with DSPs from Hand Penned and Pansy Petals along with some borders diecut with the Basic Borders die.  The sentiment from Special Moments was made into a tag and tied with some Bumblebee Gingham ribbon.  It all went on a Basic White card base that was embossed with the Ornate Floral embossing folder.  I just love this little duckling!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"But Jesus called the children to him and said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.'" Luke 18:16

TSOT538 My Friend

Happy Monday, peeps!  Today is a good day to stay inside and stamp!  I did a wee bit of that yesterday before watching PBS's All Things Great and Small....love that show!  Anyone else watching it? I remember reading those books when I was younger!  Anyway, I had been pushing these scraps around on my desk from another project and finally saw a sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday that would work with them:

And here's how I worked my scraps into the card:

I trimmed down the Hand Penned DSP to fit the card front and matted it with some Basic Black.  The banners were cut from the same DSP, adding a fishtail cut so that the patterns were opposite.  The tag, tied with some gingham ribbon was already finished (the sentiment is from Easter Friends). so I plopped that on top with a dimensional:

Finally, I adhered it all to a mat that was embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder and it went on a Basic White base!  Easy and cute!  Thanks for popping by!

We celebrated Wayne's birthday and our anniversary, both on the same day, on Saturday night at a local pub!  Lots of fun and yummy food!  You can see there was nothing left of that chocolate dessert on the center of the table!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC144 Easter Friend

Hello, peeps!  Time for the first Tic Tac Toe challenge of the new year!  It's Team X's turn and here's our chart for you:

I chose the middle row across because I couldn't wait to use this cute little chick from the new Easter Friends set:

I stamped him in Stazon Black on some Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored him in, then embossed it with the Stitched With Whimsy die.  Isn't the look on his face so cute?

Both sentiments are from the same set; this is the one I used on the inside of the So Saffron card:

I hope you'll play with our Tic Tac Toe grid this week!  Check all the samples out at our blog, then come play along!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
