FMS373 Brad's Birthday

Hello, everyone!  Wow, I am having a real lazy day today; this card almost didn't make the FMS deadline, so I had to scurry to get it posted!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card!  I did turn the sketch on its side; check it out:

My nephew will be 25 on Friday, so this is for him!  I pulled out a really old set from 2011 by Mark's Finest called Big Boy Toys; I stamped the image on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock with Early Espresso ink, and brayered it with some (retired) Bordering Blue ink:

That shade of blue matches this DSP from Authentique's Nestled line;  I added some Early Espresso strips which were diecut with the little dotted-line die from Swirly Snowflakes.  I added a sentiment  from Itty Bitty Birthdays, inside and out, both of which were diecut with the Rectangle Stitched framelits:

No Cassidy photos today, but I did get a few pictures of our yard and field from early this morning; the warmer temps and the snow-covered ground caused some unusual fog; if you look closely at the last two, you can see a fox trotting through our field!

Thanks for popping in to visit today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Colour Me…! 20

DSCF2949
Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It’s time for another Colour Me…! challenge, and this was a perfect one for me to start on my Father’s Day cards:

These striking colors shouted “nautical” to me, so I pulled out some retired stuff and went to work:

I inked up the Chevron embossing folder with Crushed Curry ink before running it through the Big Shot to get the chevron background; the rest was just stamping, punching, diecutting and snipping!  I also used the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch:

I hope you’ll play along with us this week and be sure to check out what all the fabulous designers at Colour Me…! have come up with!

CQC133 & OCCC

DSCF0298
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Today, Arielle has a unique retro-feeling color challenge for us:
cqc133
As I was laying these colors out, I really had to resist the temptation to make a Halloween card!!!  I wanted to make a masculine birthday card for my BIL’s upcoming big day, so I went with that instead:
CQC133-LeAnne
I did some embossing with a CB embossing folder, stamped my retired SU image in black Stazon and then used my aquapainter and reinkers to color in this baby.  The Tasteful Trim die was used to make the zigzaggy embellishments.   And a jumbo eyelet adds some heavy metal to make it extra-masculine!  Although my BIL used to ride bikes a lot, his last accident cured him of that desire!  Nothing major, just enough to make him realize at his age, with a family, some things are better left to younger men!  So hopefully he can enjoy it vicariously through the card!  That being said, this card also qualifies for the Our Creative Corner Challenge this week----boys and their toys!  As always, feel free to email me with any questions!
I hope you zoom on over to the ColourQ blog to see what all those creative crafty chicks have come up with!  Such a diverse group of stampers, you’ll be sure to find inspiration from someone!  And thanks for visiting!

Chillin’ and readin’ in Grampy’s chair!!!

Motorcycle Birthday

DSCF9967

Oh my, time is flying by and there’s not enough of it in the day!  I feel like I have been neglecting all my blog friends, but the season is pulling at me!  My little brother’s birthday is coming up, and I liked the sketch at SCS today, so I sat down while the baby was napping to make him a card:

While I am sure this does not match his Harley (!!!), I am hoping he will still like it!

I only wish I hadn’t “shabbied” the image up quite so much….it’s looking a little smoky!  Oh well!  Enjoy your day and if you have any questions, email me!  Off to make some more cookies!

JUGS91

DSCF2106-1

Happy Saturday!  It is a lovely, hot summer day here in PA, perfect for the start of the 4th of July holiday!  Hope you have some fun plans lined up!

I hadn’t played with the JUGS girls for a while, and this week’s challenge was a sketch:

I had to laugh when I saw Elise’s card here, because I had just printed out a cool cowboy silhouette and wanted to use it on a card.  Mine is not as spectacular as hers, but it was fun to make nonetheless, and will be a great addition to my masculine birthday card stash:

I can’t remember where the digi came from, but the other images are from Mark’s Finest, and papers are from Cosmo Cricket.  Here’s the inside:
