Addicted to CAS Pretty Little Bird

Happy Monday, peeps, and happy Labor Day if you're in the states!  I am slowly getting back into my stamping groove, I think I am mostly still in vacation mode!  The challenge at Addicted to CAS this week is "birds", and since I love birds, I thought I'd give it a go:

This challenge is pretty strict about their CAS requirements, so I kept it to one layer and one color:

This Inky Antics set is one I've had for a while and I love the pointillism effect!  I stamped everything in Starry Sky:

And stamped a big "Thank You" from Pinkfresh on the inside:

A very sweet friend from church handed me a card yesterday; I was a little puzzled because my birthday had come and gone, so imagine my surprise when I opened it up and it was a sweet thank you for making and sending cards to our church members! And even better, she included some postage stamps inside the card!  I was so encouraged by her sweet, generous gesture!  So this card is going to her! Any excuse to make another card, right?!

A couple more pix from downtown Lewes and the beautiful flowers:

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB162 Quote Me

Hi everyone!  Happy Thursday!  Time for a new Inspired By challenge!  Here's our prompt and the optional sketch:

Oh my, this little Pooh image brings back such memories!  I remember reading Winnie the Pooh as a child and thinking the same thing..."I wish this book would just go on and on and not be over!"  I don't have any Pooh stamps so I thought I would choose a Bible verse for my "quote"...I had this Inky Antics Songbird stamp, and I paired it with some pretty Bo Bunny Felicity papers:

I stamped the bird and branches in Smoky Slate directly on the DSP, then stamped the sentiment on top, using Tranquil Tide ink, stamping it again in Versamark and heat-embossing it in clear embossing powder.  It stood out much better once I embossed it!

My final addition was a couple of little banners at the bottom along with a shabby seam binding bow in  Soft Sky, adhered to the top left corner.

I hope you'll find a nice quote or saying for our challenge this week...I am really looking foward to seeing what everyone comes up with!  Share it with us at Inspired By and check out the cute things the DT stamped as well!

I hope I'm not boring you with all our snowy pictures, but I wanted to share with you a video Cassidy took of us sledding.....it's a little wobbly and it's not been edited, so just take it as it is!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI223 Branch of Rainbows

Hi peeps!  Yay, it's Friday, and time for another As You See It challenge!!  This is a fun one...check out this cute inspiration prompt:

No photo description available.

I had several ideas for this challenge, but in the end went with a very simple design that I really loved:

I have a small die that cuts out four different birds, so I cut some out of Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue, Blueberry Bushel and Gorgeous Grape, then perched them on a Crumb Cake branch, cut using the Seasonal Layers die:

My sentiment, stamped in Smoky Slate, is from an Inky Antics set called Songbird:

I mounted it on a Basic Black card base and added a white panel on the inside; it was stamped with a retired Cornish Heritage Farm birthday sentiment, and I added a couple more birds for fun:

And for this Good Friday, I'll leave you with these verses from Genesis, chapter 9:

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

What a beautiful way to remember what the rainbow signifies!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP387 Sing to Him

Happy Easter, everyone!  Or, as our church family likes to say, Happy Resurrection Day!  I hope that you have a wonderful time with your family and friends today!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess with a wonderful theme...I don't think we've ever had this theme, so I'm even more excited about it!  Here we go:

I remembered I had gotten this pretty little Inky Antics bird stamp a couple years ago and thought it would make a nice card to give to our church's praise team as a way to thank them for the lovely music they provide each week.  I love this verse! Since the stamp is photopolymer, I actually cut the bird apart from the rest of the stamp; that made it easy to ink the branch in Smoky Slate and the bird in Memento Black.  I stamped the verse over a portion of the branch so it would fit into the circle diecut a little better.  The musical panel is from a retired Cornish Heritage Farm stamp, also stamped in Memento Black:

I added a partial scallop in Lost Lagoon as well as a little stitched scallop along the music piece.  My final embellishment was some Silver Glimmer leaves cut from the Everyday Jars Framelits:

For my layout, I used the CAS(E) This Sketch for this week:

I hope you'll play with our musical challenge this week!  We can't wait to see your creation in our gallery!  For more inspiration, check out what the DT created:

As I promised, here are the tie-dyed eggs we did!  Basically, you wrap a hard-boiled egg in a layer of paper towel, drip food coloring on it, spray with water and let it dry.

I have oodles of bottles of retired SU reinkers, so we used those, but I had too many layers of paper toweling, so the designs were rather faint.

They were cute, though!  Maybe I should say "psychedelic"!!!  She had fun doing them and that's all that mattered!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Viva la Verve

Hi everyone!  Hope your week is going well so far!  I found a pretty sketch at the Viva la Verve blog:

I never realized how much I depend on sketches to get me "going"!!  I needed a special birthday card, so I put this sketch to good use, using some papers from Petal Garden DSP and a pretty verse and image from Inky Antics:

I used a doily from my stash for the horizontal panel, and added some glimmer and white ribbons to hide the cut edge.  I stamped the verse and bird directly on to the DSP with Tangerine Tango ink, and added a birthday sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet in Pool Party:

I added another strip of that pretty DSP on the inside and another sentiment from Colorful Seasons:

Thanks for visiting today!

PPA311 and CTS183

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I am back from my wee vacation and have a CAS creation for you today!  This uses the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and the colors from Pals Paper Arts:

PPA311

It's a challenge to leave your craft room with new goodies sitting unused, so I put this Inky Antics stamp set to work as soon as I got home!  The background is from Gorgeous Grunge, and the rest is pretty simple:

I did "cannibalize" my wee little birdie from the rest of the photopolymer stamp so that I could stamp him in a different color:

The set also comes with this lovely Bible verse:

Thanks for popping in today!

My MIL has decided to keep the park model RV she and my FIL had at a nice little community on the Elk River near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, so we took a couple days to rest and relax during my birthday week!  Here's a sunset view:

Since it was HOT HOT HOT, everybody jumped in the pool as soon as we got there!  Of course, I'll share more photos later!

And since I got so many lovely cards, I will be sharing them all with you over the next few days as well!  This cutie is from my friend Martha:

And this fun-fold one is from my friend in NJ, Doris:

It features a butterfly from a Godiva wrapper and a cute little bookmark inside!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge, too!  Enjoy your day!
