IB108 and The Challenge

DSCF1199
I normally don’t post two times in one day, but I saw a cute inspiration photo on Inspired By, and time was running out!!!  Here it is:
This reminds me of London during the time of 101 Dalmatians….LOL!!!  That was the first movie my parents took me to, so it sticks out in my mind vividly!!   I don’t have any images like this but I liked the color combo, and after seeing Laurel’s sample, as well as this sample from Lorraine, I pulled out a few sets and went to work:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Vintage Bingo Stampin Up
I printed out a little bingo card (sorry, I don’t remember where I got it!), some Jenni Bowlin papers, a few SU stamps, and a bunch of embellishments, some of which were already sitting on my desk!   I think my favorite is the little bird:

And here are the rest of the embellies:

This also uses Lesley’s sketch at The Challenge!!!  Here’s what it looks like:
‘You should play along!!  And I am feeling lazy, so if you have any questions about what I used, just send me an email!

Paper Players 159

DSCF7380

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Ann is our hostess today with a clean and simple challenge:

Oooh, that is a challenge—one layer!  But I managed to make a one-layer card that was pretty CAS….not a lot of white space….but some pretty stamping and a wee bit of embossing:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 159 Papaya Collage CAS Gorgeous Grunge Petite Pairs

I used a set that I haven’t used for a while, Papaya Collage, along with Gorgeous Grunge….amazing how versatile that set is!  This card is smaller; note card size; so the images work quite well with it.  I diecut the edge and embossed it, then stamped the stripes on the inside of the card to peek out from behind the embossing…such a pretty effect!  (Be sure you diecut first, THEN emboss…..you can figure out how I know to do that!!!)

DSCF7383

Then I stamped my foliage and butterflies, simply coloring them with some ink and a blender pen, then adding the pearl centers:

I did dye some seam binding for a little bow, but Ann said that was okay to do!!!

So, what will you do with this one-layer, clean and simple challenge?  Can’t wait to see!  And be sure to check out the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers created as well!

We are having Cassidy’s party today, so hopefully I will have some pictures to post this week.  Meanwhile, a little shot of the fashionista from last week, courtesy of her mommy:

PPA165 Silly Halloween

DSCF6846

Howdy, peeps!  Thank goodness it’s Friday!  Wow, it was so chilly yesterday here in SE PA, I wore a sweatshirt almost all day!  Can you say “refreshing”?!  Loved it!  It felt like fall, and my new orange and black glitter from the holiday mini was calling my name, so I made a silly Halloween card:

LeAnne Pugliese PPA165 Papaya Collage Halloween

I was really just sort of experimenting with my glitter, having fun with it!  First, let me tell you…don’t let the price of it throw you off; these are fairly good size jars of glitter,  so I think you get a lot for your buck!  You’ll be able to do lots of Halloween glittering with these!  I used an Adhesive Sheet adhered to a circle of Basic Black for my circular background.  I adhered my Smoky Gray embossed piece to it first, then simply sprinkled the black glitter on top!  Easy…the adhesive sheet provides a nice even surface to which the glitter can stick!  Then of course, I HAD to use the orange, so I ran a few lines of Sticky Strip across the panels and sprinkled them with the orange glitter!  Wheeee!  I glittered up the pumpkin and the bird’s hat too!  Don’t look too hard at my sewing.  I just had my machine fixed (I dropped it, remember?) and I am getting used to the new tension.  I’ll have to practice on that!  Here’s a closeup:

DSCF6846-001

I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch from this week, but I flipped the sketch so my bird would be looking inward:
PPA165[1]
So, it’s not the most elegant card out there, but like I said, I was having fun with that glitter!  And this is the way I store my glitter….in Gerber baby food containers:

DSCF6849

I know this isn’t a very good picture, but you get the idea.  The glitter fits in it perfectly, it sits neatly in my drawer and the glitter is all contained inside the container. If you don’t have any babies, just go buy some baby food applesauce and eat it yourself…it’s worth it to have these little containers! I use them ALL THE TIME in my craft room!  Or maybe you know someone who has a baby…that would work, too!
My shared card today is from my friend Linda:

This beauty was embossed on glossy paper, then ink was brayered over it….such a cool technique, and I love the little gem on the sentiment!  Linda has been a faithful reader and has given me ideas on how to keep Cassidy occupied, entertained and growing!  Thanks, Linda!

Gratitude X Two

DSCF4608

Wow, what a couple of beautiful spring days we have had here in SE PA!!  Absolutely gorgeous!  I am filled with gratitude for them…..and my customers!  Here are a couple of “gratitude” cards I made for them!  The first one uses the colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

2013 Thursday Challenges-013

and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch, which I turned on its side:

and here’s my card:

DSCF4607

I wanted to use some retiring sets, in this case, Nature Walk, along with the This & That Epic Day DP, which has the perfect colors for the challenge!  It also uses a retiring die, Two Tags…..SO SAD that is retiring!  I love that die!

DSCF4606

The second one uses a sketch from  the Deconstructed Sketch:

Deconstructed Sketch 100

as well as the Inspired By photo inspiration:

Another one of the papers from the Epic Day line had these same colors!  I added a a rose from Papaya Collage and some buttons:

DSCF4601

I even overstamped the rose in Very Vanilla ink with the Linen background stamp to give it a more subtle look:

DSCF4604

The banner was stamped on the same DP in Wild Wasabi….I am really liking that look!

So there you go….two fairly simple cards, ready to be sent out to my customers!   And here are a couple of pix of Cassidy….she had on NEON pink sneakers yesterday….the photos just don’t do them justice!  She was pumped!

FMS81 & IB70

DSCF4002

Happy wet, rainy Friday to everyone!  After temps in the 70s and 80s over the last two days, I am happy to see some cooler weather…we needed rain too!

Today’s card is for the Inspired By challenge photo for this week:

as well as the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

Sadly, I had NO Midnight Muse DP that had white in it….they were all full of vanilla!   So I went with that, although I may try another one for this inspiration photo again!  So here we go:

DSCF4005

The floral images are from Papaya Collage; the tag uses Lovely Letters, Tiny Tags and Teeny TIny Wishes.  DP is from Print Poetry, which is still available in the Spring mini catalog!  It’s fastened to some Natural ribbon with Linen thread:

DSCF4004

I also dyed some  flowers from the Flower Trim (also in the mini) with some Crumb Cake reinkers to make my embellishment:

DSCF4003

I just love this effect!

Tomorrow I’ll be attending the Baltimore Regionals---I am really looking forward to spending time with some of my downline and friends I’ve made along the way!

A whole pad of post-it notes and a receipt from the grocery store equals half an hour of uninterrupted play!!!

ColourQ182

DSCF3458

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another wonderful ColourQ challenge!  But first, let me show what we woke up to yesterday morning:

DSCF3451DSCF3444

DSCF3447

This is more snow than we’ve had ALL WINTER!!  Pretty….and probably gone by this afternoon!

Anyway, here’s the gorgeous springy palette Arielle has chosen for us today:

Beautiful!  I needed another hostess thank you card, and since my hostess purchased the Papillon Potpourri set and the matching punches, I decided to use them for her card.  She also loves purple…..so that Wisteria Wonder was perfect:

LeAnne_CQC182

I used the Unscripted Sketches sketch #203 to get me started:

US_Sketch203

I already had a little piece of white cardstock embossed with the Delicate Designs embossing folder, so I used that for my left panel.  I stamped the foliage from Papaya Collage in Lucky Limeade, but it looked a little too bright with my butterflies, so I layered it with a piece of vellum to soften it a bit:

DSCF3456

The butterflies themselves were stamped first with the silhouette outline stamp, after “stamping off” the ink on some scratch paper, then over-stamping the detailed image in full-strength ink.  The punch makes it a breeze to cut them out!  Added some pearls and mounted them on the vellum.

I stamped the “thanks” from Kindness Matters in Always Artichoke and punched it out with the small oval punch, but it looked naked without a mat!  Much to my surprise, I found that a 1 1/4” scallop circle punch-out, cut in half between the scallops and repositioned, created a perfect oval mat for my sentiment!  I LOVE it when I can get extra use out of my punches!!! (Somebody else probably already thought of this, I am sure!)  You can just barely see the overlap in this photo:

DSCF3457

I finished my card by embossing the front with the Elegant Lines embossing folder…I love the effect, but it does make the card front a bit “floppy”!!!  But I hope she likes it!  I hope you will stop over at the ColourQ blog to see the amazing projects the other designers have come up with too!  They are fantastic!

After spaghetti for lunch, Cassidy totally enjoyed the green jello cake I made….she even had some on her nose!!  Have no idea how THAT got there!
