PP602 Tic Tac Toe Boo

Hi peeps!  Happy Sunday, and the last day of July!  Yikes, the summer is whizzing by!  Today, since it's the fifth Sunday, the Paper Players have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Claire!  Here's the grid she created:

I chose the top row across of yellow, person or animal (got them both!) and embossing!  Here we go:

I started with some Hues of Happines DSP....the "watercolor" side, in shades of yellow, and used a retired Stars embossing folder to emboss it.  I then diecut some little Poppy Whittles to create my kitty:

My pumpkins:

And my little pumpkin witch:

I added a sentiment from Scary Cute, diecut with a flower center from the retired Pierced Blooms!  Each little set of diecuts was mounted on some Smoky Slate cardstock, diecut with a Stylish Shapes circle die, and I did add some spooky "clouds" with Versamark ink and a stamp from the retired Label Me Bold set.  Each element was shaded with a Blend, and the witch's little dress was diecut with some retired Plaid Tidings DSP.  The pumpkins and the witch had a wee bit of Gold Wink of Stella applied to their mouths to make them look like they are glowing---you'll have to take my word for it!  My sketch is a cute one from Amy over at FMS:

On the inside, I combined an old Paper Pumpkin Christmas stamp with another sentiment from Scary Cute, and used the retired Ornate Frames dies:

I had so much fun making this card!  I hope you'll have some fun and play along with our grid as well!  Be sure to stop over at the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers came up with!  Thanks for visiting today!

As promised, here are a few of the beautiful birthday cards I received:

This beauty is from my stamping friend and church co-worker, Robyn; I just love the colors and papers she used!

My Paper Players teamie Ann wowed me with this one:

And another PP teamie, Laurie, (who is the QUEEN of dies), sent me this fun card! Just adorable!

And my upline Pennie sent me this elegant creation:

Thanks so much, ladies!  And everyone enjoy their day and be blessed!

AYSI280 My Favorite Christmas in July

Happy Friday, peeps!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and we're challenging you to fill in the blank!  Tell us what you like to create most for a Christmas in July project!

It could be a card, a 3D item, a hand-created gift item....anything!  I love making Christmas cards, that's why I began stamping, and I especially love vintage images!  I have had some gorgeous vintage papers that I've been hesitant to use because they are 6"x8", so I decided to make a tall card so that I could highlight a couple of them!  So here we go:

This card is a whopping 8 1/4" x 4 1/8" and fits nicely into a business size envelope.  I fussy-cut the Santa image and adhered him atop some vintage ephemera paper and adhered it to my Naturals White card.

I used a vintage sentiment, stamped in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of paper from the same pad, and created a mat from the print on the opposite side.  I added some large holly leaves cut from some Be Dazzling specialty paper SU had from last year, along with some Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper berries and swirl:

Finally, on the inside, another vintage sentiment from Flonzcraft along with some stamped holly:

I hope you'll play along with our Christmas in July "Fill in the Blank" challenge and share your favorite Christmas creation over at As You See It!  Can't wait to see it! And be sure to  check out what the DT created as well...they're pretty awesome!

Yesterday was my birthday, and I want to thank everyone who sent cards and well wishes!  I'll share some pictures of the cards in the coming days!  John and I went to see Jersey Boys on Sunday as my birthday present, and on the way, we stopped at Burger King---not my favorite fast food place, but it was convenient.  When I saw this big emblem as we walked in, I made John take my picture with it...now you know how old I am!  As old as BK, obviously!

Thanks for popping in -- enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC172 Warm Wishes

Hi everyone!  It's Thursday and that means it's time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here's our grid from Betty and Team X for today:

I chose the bottom row across of Watercolor, Bright Colors and Floral.  And here we go, with another Christmas card for the year:

I chose the retired Poinsettia Petals for my florals; I heat embossed them with Versamark, Real Red and Garden Green ink, then watercolored them in before diecutting.

I used the diecuts to create a Diamond Flip fun fold that I first saw on my creative friend Cindy's blog.  You can see her directions here.  Here is the card partially open:

I used some Boughs of Holly and Garden Green DSPs for my layers, and I also embossed the Real Red panel with the Greenery EF, but it's hard to see.  And here's the inside:

I stamped a few holly leaves directly on the DSP, and I will warn you: even though I blotted the ink before closing my card, I still got a little on the sentiment when I closed it.  I added a few more "sprinkles" by flicking my aquapainter with some watered-down GG ink on the rest of the sentiment!  My final addition was some sequins from my stash and a diecut sentiment banner!

I am also entering this at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, where they're looking for watercoloring!

I hope you'll find a fun Tic Tac Toe "recipe" on our grid with which to create something this week!  We can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at the TTT blog!  Thanks for visiting today!

We saw my great-nephew Cole yesterday for the first time!  Cassidy was in heaven:

Once she got the hang of how to hold him close and snuggly, he went right to sleep!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fusion Beachy Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  The middle of the week already!  My niece's birthday is coming up and while she is a dog fanatic, she also loves going to the beach, so I thought I'd use the Fusion sketch and theme challenge to make a card for her:

I used both the sketch and the inspiration photo, using stamps and elements from Friends are Like Seashells, Biggest Wish and the A Little Smile kit from SU:

I embossed a Basic White card with the Seashells EF, then added some papers from Kaisercraft along with a embossed panel of Seaside Spray:

I stamped and embossed the sentiment in Craft White ink and embossing powder to begin. I heat embossed and diecut a starfish from the Seaside Seashells dies; the sparkly starfish is from the kit, and the smaller shells are diecuts from Impression Obsession.

I stamped the small sand dollar from the kit in Sahara Sand; the fronds are also from the kit.  I added some Linen thread behind it to add a beachy touch.  And on the inside, I stamped a sentiment from  Friends are Like Seashells:
Hope she likes it!  Thanks for popping in today!

AHSC483 Congrats

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I got some new goodies and have been itching to play with them!  The Cottage Wreath bundle is so fun...if you like wreaths, you will like this one!  I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge to get started:

And here is my fall wreath:

I have a friend in my TOPS group (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) who reached a major goal and so I thought she would appreciate a little congrats card!  I stamped the wreath in Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze, then added some Soft Suede acorns and Cajun Craze leaves:

I added some Cajun Craze banners, a panel of Very Vanilla, diecut with the Stitchery background plate, and it all went on a Crumb Cake card on which I stamped the Knit Together background stamp.  I added some Braided Trim, along with a tag with a sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals.  I'll hand-write a note on the inside!  Thanks for visiting today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF0114 From the Funny Farm

Happy Monday, peeps!  A little late this morning....have to get back into my "working" mode after having a couple weeks off from babysitting!  I thought I'd play with the Festive Friday challenge, since I had not played with it for a while:

I got this cute IO owl last year and I thought he would be fun to use as a non-Halloween card:

I chose from the inspo list owl, feather and brown, and I guess I could throw in woodland too!  Mr Owl was stamped in Soft Suede and blended with some Crumb Cake ink:

I added a Soft Suede mat, then used a sentiment from Charming Sentiments, diecut with the matching die, and an older Artistic Outpost sentiment because this lil dude definitely looks like he is from the funny farm!  A sentiment from Biggest Wish was stamped on the inside, along with some feathers from PTI:

I am sure I have some friends who would appreciate this card, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

While visiting Driftwood Beach, the kids found a rope swing.  Cassidy found out it's a little harder than it looks on TV!  She managed to get a foot in the loop:

Held on tight while Wayne spotted her:

Wheeeeee!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP601 A Smile for a Sketch

Hi there, stampers!  It's Sunday and that means a new challenge from the Paper Players, where I am the hostess again!  This week I have a really versatile sketch....so many possibilities, I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to use!  But let's look at the sketch first:

Since my garden is taking up a lot of my time, I went uber-easy and used some of the pretty papers from Hues of Happiness to create my card:

Both the background and the vertical piece are from the DSP, diecut with Stitched Rectangle dies; I had some pre-cut florals on my desk left over from a previous project, so I tucked one behind my double-banner sentiment, which is from Lovely You, stamped in Pool Party:

I couldn't help adding a couple of the new Festive Pearls along the larger banner...so soft and pretty!  I left the inside blank so I can add a sentiment at the proper time, since this could be for any occasion!

I know you'll enjoy playing with our sketch...and I hope you'll check out what the DT did at the Paper Players blog.  Comments mean so much to us all...be sure to leave some love!  I cherish all the comments my regular readers leave! ♥  Thanks for popping in today!

The kids should be home by the time I post this, and it has been so fun seeing all their sightseeing expeditions!  My sister Gail lives in Charleston, so she showed them the amazing Angel Oak:

That is one magestic tree!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Mix It Up Things with Wings

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I stepped a wee bit out of my comfort zone with the CAS Mix it Up challenge for this month:  Things with Wings!

So here we go, although I am not sure if the watercoloring is the "main element"...oh well!:

I had a piece of 3" x 6" Very Vanilla cardstock already scored for another (unused) project, and a piece of watercolor paper already cut to this size, so I thought I'd used them together. I heat-embossed a Tim Holtz butterfly image in black, then added a watercolored background to each one.  I chose blue, green and purple so I could play with the Seize the Birthday challenge:

I used Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather inks with an aquapainter and just blended them into each other:

I did a bit of speckles with some Highland Heather ink.  The background looked a little blah, so I coated it with some Wink of Stella.....that really jazzed it up a bit!  Too bad you can't see how awesome it looks here!

I added a sentiment from a really old Crafty Secrets bird set, but I thought it was appropriate since it was about wings!

I added a birthday sentiment on the inside and it's added to my stash!

Thanks for visiting today!

The kids went to Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island recently:

It's a pretty amazing place!  Check out that driftwood!  It's hard to imagine how huge these pieces of wood are!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
