Happy Monday, everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!  It is definitely spring….I look out the window one minute and it is pouring, and a few minutes later, the sun is shining….crazy!

I am playing with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week:

and I am not sure why I am attracted to bold colors this week!  Yesterday was Real Red and today’s creation features Pacific Point:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Vintage Fashion Thank You

This card is a thank-you to my SIL!  She invited all the women in John’s family to a fund-raising fashion show and luncheon on Saturday, hosted by the Eastern Hemophiliac Association in Philadelphia.  Her husband, John’s brother, was a hemophiliac and died due to complications from a blood transfusion before I even met John.  It is a wonderful organization and we had a lovely time!  I had been perusing some old Workbasket magazines from the late 1950s and when I saw this pattern page, I thought it would be fun to make it into a card for her!

The card itself is 5”x6” in order to accommodate the larger panel; I stamped and embossed the sentiment (from Feb’s Paper Pumpkin), then added some flowers from Pictogram Punches, stamped in Pacific Point on Naturals Ivory.  Other embellishments were some Very Vanilla seam binding and a designer button.  I love these images; this one reminds me of my mom!!

The sentiment from SAB’s Lotus Blossom seemed fitting for the inside:

And here is a shot of all of us:

Hemophilia Luncheon April 18 2015

John’s sister Mimi is to my right, John’s stepmom Trish is to my left, and John’s SIL Colleen is to her left.  Colleen’s DD Olivia is behind Trish and Mimi’s DIL Michele is behind Colleen!  The rest are friends and family of Colleen’s!  The meal was delicious and I actually won a couple of nice door prizes!  A fun day!

And just in case you are missing Cassidy, here is a pic Dana shared with me from yesterday:

They were flying a kite!  Enjoy your day!

I do love your pattern page - and I especially love how you played up the Pacific Point. It's so classic, yet so fun and cheerful! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Love the sweet polka dot flowers you added to the vintage pattern. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. No flying kites around here, the wind has been crazy today!! Hang on,it's probably headed your way :)

What a great card- so appropriate! Sounds like your weather is having an identity crisis much like ours. We had hail today, preceded and followed within 15min each side, by full sun... and 30min on each side of that by rain. It's been like that all day and it's rained almost every day since Tue. Definitely monsoon season!
