LIM74 & SSC

 DSCF5178
Wow, two posts on a Saturday!  If you’re looking for Linda’s Grandmom-to-be Blog Hop, you can click HERE!  I had an absolutely marvelous Saturday---it’s after 3pm and I just got out of my jammies…..which is UNHEARD of for me!  I had a chance to use a new set that I just won (thanks, Justin!) called Papaya Collage…SO pretty!  The Less is More challenge had a challenge to use their header as an inspiration, and the Simply Stamping challenge, which is a new one to me, was CAS.   I did a lot of masking and used several other sets beside the Papaya Collage:

It is almost one-layer----I popped up the butterfly and added a single markered pearl, but other than that, it is just stamping, stamping, stamping!  The frame was stamped in Soft Suede and I added a little Crumb Cake shadow, then stamped the other images in Stazon Black or Basic Gray.

I used Nature Walk, Creative Elements, You’re A Gem and Bring on the Cake for the birthday sentiment inside:

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!  I have run out of Cassidy pictures, but here are a couple of nature shots for you---we came home from church last week to find that a branch on a large pine tree had split off….in a very interesting way:

Doesn’t it look like a pencil point?  DH was wondering if it was at a knot….any ideas?

Hi LeAnne, great LIM card. The stamp is so lovely and shows ups beautifully. As for the tree, I don't know. It certainly looks like a knot but I've never seen one pop out like that Very interesting and I LOVE trees, well actually all of nature.

Hi LeAnne, I got my husband to look at the picture of your tree, and he says when a branch grows out of the trunk at too flat of an angle, and it gets too heavy it will break at the weakest point. And, yes, that is a knot. That's how a tree grows. It had probably been slowly separating at it's weakest point for a long time now, and that's why you see the formation so perfectly.
Love your card - I got that set but haven't used it yet. Your card made me look at it differently.
I enjoy your blog and watching Cassidy grow. I have 5 grandsons, the youngest being 17 months old. I'm blessed to have them all to be living close by and being able to see them almost every day.

Wow! I think this card takes the record for most stamp sets used. I counted six, maybe I'm wrong. Wonderful use of all of them. ... Strange what happened to your tree. ... Can't wait to see more Cassidy pics. I'm *sure* you miss her!

Hi LiAnne,
Saw your amazingly beautiful card on the Less is More challenge.
Just wantend to tell you, that you made it so very beautiful.
Like that you hardly only stamped and masked in one layer.
Think this is what stamping is all about.
