ColourQ131

Happy Tuesday!  Arielle has the sweetest color palette for us today….check this out:

cqc131

If my creative mojo wasn’t sapped by my 3-week-long sinus infection, I think I could have made a couple of these little Easter baskets myself---just little paper favor cups, I think!  Sweet!  I had to settle for a plain ole card:

CQC131-LeAnne

Although I often do things in threes, I was inspired by these pretty cards from my friend Diane’s blog; I just translated it a bit differently.  I originally had three eggs placed in different places, but ended up with little flowers from Itty Bitty Bits.  The egg is from last year’s Easter Blossoms, and the sentiments are from a retired set called God Bless II.  The letters are cut from the Timeless Type die set.

 DSCF0156 Here’s the inside sentiment:

I am also entering this in the Just Add Ink 111 Challenge – Easter; and Stampin’ Royalty’s Spring Thing Challenge #117.

Here’s a non-stamping related question.  Check out this pic of the baby:

Can you see the red rash on her cheeks?  She has had this for several months, all around her mouth.  It does not seem to bother her; I have looked it up online and it seems to be fairly common, but no one knows how to prevent it or heal it, or even what causes it!  She is not teething; she doesn’t seem to be allergic to anything.  It seems it may be from saliva, but I am interested if any other moms/grandmoms out there have any advice!!!  She just had a 18-month check-up at the doctor’s but she was screaming so frantically that I totally forgot to ask the doctor what it might be!!  I am interested in hearing your comments!

Hi LeAnne. My daughter had a rash like that and we found out she was allergic to milk. We had to put her on soy milk and it cleared up. Maybe you could try one of the lactose free milks to see if it clears up. She is such a little cutie.

Every day I love checking out your new creations and to see what Miss Cassidy is up to :0) You may have to quiz a dermatologist to get to the bottom of the matter. My kids are teenagers now but my one daughter has sensitive skin. She had a reaction to cinnamon that turned her mouth area red. Is okay now eating cinnamon. For rashes and dry patches my dermatologist recommends Aquaphor. It is pricey, though, and comes in different forms. Good luck! And, Happy Easter!

My baby would get red cheeks like that after she went out in the wind. And they stayed red for a few days at a time. I put some chapstick on them and they got way better. Don't know if it's the same thing, though.

My ddl has switched the kids to soy milk as well and the rashes have pretty much gone away and they really have learned to like it too. Putting some Aquaphor on it can help it from getting to the point where it will start hurting her.

Lovely card today! Hope you weather is wonderful and that you have a beautiful Easter. ~chris

Beautiful card! I love how you added the sentiment inside too! Could Cassidy's rash be related to a yeast infection?

LeAnne, ditto -- exactly! -- what Selma said! We also had trouble with apple juice -- back then everyone gave their kids apple juice. Well it turned out it caused the irritation so we switched to cranberry juice (watered down of course). My daughter (24 tomorrow) pretty much tolerates milk, my son (26) does not to this day. He's a rice milk kind of a guy. It's not an allergy, but more of an intolerance -- thresholds are different for different people. Try it and see what happens! Now there are so many options for lactose intolerances and so many juice choices!

Such a pretty, fresh card, LeAnne! I love the gingham :) I don't know about this particular rash, but might be worth having a pediatrician look at. My son had strep a few weeks ago, and he got better quickly, so we didn't do antibiotics... then he got impetigo (mild case, thank goodness!) because the strep went untreated. We'd never had strep before, so I had no clue! Anyway, some rashes are easily treated with a Rx cream. Hope you are having a great week! :)

My daughter's name is JOY and with a birthday coming up, I needed this inspiration.

The area of the rash is exactly where she would rub her hands against her cheek if there was drool present.

Two thoughts: it could be any of the million things she touches throughout the day. It also could be the handy wipes you use for her hands. VERY drying for her face.

Very pretty card! I might have to take your suggestion about makining baskets like this how cute!

About Cassidy's rash, Tate had one like that when he was a baby and I would wipe his face with regular baby wipes. After I switched to either a wet paper towel or the green package of Wet Ones sensitive skin (safe for babies)it went away. Hopefully it is as easy as that. Good luck!

Years ago, my pediatrician suggested that if you use dryer sheets with the bedding, and then they drool when they sleep, it could cause irritation on their cheeks. Also, possibly using scented lotion could cause it.

Looks like you have plenty of creative mojo to me. This card is so pretty - great job with these colours. I like your gingham papers and the inside sentiment is wonderful.
I'm glad to hear that Cassidy's rash doesn't bother her. I hope you can find some answers and help it clear up soon.

LeAnne I live this card!! The gingham is too cute!!

My little one had a rash like this also, my DR gave me several options and we started with the cheapest and easiest - Caldesene Powder - the one in the pink bottle. It is a medicated baby powder - it did the trick. Cleared up the rash and we just kept the powder handy to apply whenever she was "drooly"!. Cheap, easy and workes quick.
