Color Throwdown #51

CTD51 swatch

Our CTD challenge hostess today is Cathy, and she has chosen So Saffron, Garden Green and Lavender Lace as the colors--they were challenging to me!  CTD is also being sponsored today by a wonderful company, DRS Designs!  They are offering some goodies to one lucky stamper!  So get out your stamps, ink & paper and get to work!  There are a few "rules" that have to be followed, so just check out the CTD blog for all the deets!  Remember that you don't have to use SU colors, just use something closely matching--post your creation on your blog or an online gallery using CTD51 as you keyword, and then go back to the CTD blog and link the exact post through Mr Linky, so we can see them all quickly!

I made my card a little bigger than the standard size today....one of our family's fun activities is to yard sale, and I am always on the lookout for envelopes!  They always seem to come in odd sizes, so sometimes I fit my cards to the envelope.  This one is 4x6":

DSCF4610

It uses the Large Sunflower stamp shown here (L313); and the Get Well Prayer shown here (G476), with Garden Green, Very Vanilla and Lavender Lace cardstocks, as well as some BG DP.  My sunflower has been embossed with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and clear EP, then colored with watercolor crayons; a little tiny bit of MS glitter was added to the center.  I also stamped the sunflower around the Lavender Lace panel, which was cut with the Nesties Label 4 die; a bit of sponging added some dimension.  I added some ribbon accents--I didn't have any Lavender Lace ribbon, so I took some SU white organdy and colored it with my marker!  I also did not have any So Saffron or Garden Green dew drops, so I drew a little "dot" with my markers right on the spot where I wanted the dew drop to go, then added some Crystal Effects and glued on a clear dew drop--tada!!!  Colored dew drops!   Since this card is for my minister's MIL who is going through some cancer treatments, I added this little poem to the inside, which I found in my Daily Bread devotional this week:

DSCF4611

If God sees the sparrow's fall,  Paints the lilies short and tall,  Gives the skies their azure hue,  Will He not then care for you?

Wow, this post has been long, if you're still with me, good for you!  Now here are the links for the other stampers--be sure to check them out!

Thanks for visiting today!

Your card is very special and sure to bring joy to someone who needs it. I love the inside sentiment and the way you used the colors this week, but that tip about coloring dewdrops is a dose of genius! WOW! I never would have thought to do that! TFS!!
