Blessed and Thankful

DSCF6995

Just a quick post today…I have lots to do and I am sure you do too!  No challenges for me but I was just playing around with some of my new mini holiday catalog goodies and came up with this:

LeAnne Pugliese Truly Grateful Expressions Wee Inklings Stampin Up

It uses a new set, Truly Grateful, as well as new DP, thinlits and ribbon!  I will say that it was a challenge to adhere the “thankful” to the burlap, but I used some heavy-duty glue and it finally stuck!

My next one was for our associate pastor who is taking asenior pastor position in Raleigh, NC.  Although we will miss him and his family, we know that is a good move for them.  I made this card for them from our congregation:

Images are all  from Artistic Outpost.  There was a Bible verse on the inside, but I forgot to photograph it!

As a birder, I had the thrill of a lifetime on Tuesday; we have had hummingbirds swooping and looping around our two feeders like CRAZY the last few days….I have seen them do this before, but not for this duration!  Anyway, they are such creatures of habit, they know exactly where they can go, how they can maneuver around our house, the shed,  through the porch, up into the trees, etc.  Well, John moved a trash can and it got in the way of their normal path and this is what happened:

We think she smacked head-on into the trash can and it knocked the wind out of her.  You can see her eyes are closed, but she was breathing heavily.  I picked her up!!!!!!

She kept opening her eyes and shutting them, but she was quite calm.  I remember Ann’s story recently, so I tried to feed her but she wasn’t receptive.  Eventually, she recovered and she flew out of my hand, but for about 15 minutes, I was in heaven!!!  I didn’t have Cassidy that day, but when she saw these pictures, even she was amazed!

Enjoy your day!!!

I love the bird photos & story... when I read a story like that I often wonder, "what would the bird have posted?..."my near death experience...touched by an angel.."??? :)

Wow I can imagine what a thrill that was for you to hold and help out this gorgeous hummingbird. I love watching them and when I was away last week I tried to get pictures of the ones that were visiting my friend's flowers. I'm not sure how successful I was (haven't even had time to look at the pictures I took while I was away).
I love your cards today.. I'm intrigued by the new thinlits. I know your pastor will appreciate the one you made for him.

Two wonderful cards indeed :) I'm sooo jealous you got to hold a hummer!! They are such amazing little birds. Ours didn't come back to our feeder this year -- was so sad. Hopefully next year! Glad she was okay after a rest :)

dear LeAnne. Those 2 cards are so sweet. They are so well done. the sayingsare so precious and i can see that it can be tricky to stick them down. but way to go.. you did it :) i don't know how you keep us inspired each and every day with your art on your blog. But i love it :)

And thanks for your little note on my blog. I so appreciate your time and your encouragement.

Shalom, Pauline

The cards are wonderful but the experience is one I would be trilled to have as well. That is so amazing and such a trill. I found a monarch caterpillar the other day for my MIL and is has made a chrysalis. We are all watching the change. This is my kind of excitement.

Hi LeAnne, Your cards are fabulous, I am ready to start Fall cards. I love the hummer photos! Isn't God amazing, look at those tiny feet! A few years ago I read a book about a lady's experience with a hummingbird, A Hummingbird in My House by Arnette Heidcamp. Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Kym
