Spice Cake Tote Bag and a Card!

 DSCF5495
Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost here!  Before I show you my card, I want to show you something I made after seeing it at convention last year!  SU was selling tote bags made from Spice Cake fabric in which to carry the new Simply Scored tool.  I KNEW I could make it myself, so I didn’t get one.  Now usually what I do, when seeing something that I can make, I go home and promptly forget about it.  This time, I didn’t forget….it took me a while, and it’s not exactly the same, but it works for me!

It’s nothing fancy, it’s not lined or anything, but it works wonderfully to take my Simply Scored and the Diagonal plate to workshops or just from one room to another when I have a stamp camp!  Here’s the flower that adorns it:

I also am sharing a card I made with the promotional set, Reason to Smile; this features a Cajun Craze card base, DP from Comfort Cafe, a shortened Two Tags diecut, the new large scalloped Embosslit, the Itty Bitty Banners stamp and die, and the new Naturals buttons!!!

You can see I didn’t quite get my diecut lined up properly when I shortened it, but I hated to throw it away, so I used it anyway!  I heat embossed the flower in white embossing powder, then watercolored it in!  Thanks for visiting today!

And how about a nature girl, playing in the dirt in our garden?

I’m telling you….who needs toys when you have rocks and dirt?

Very cute! I guess kids are like cats? Don't spend money on toys because they'd rather have the free things like dirt and boxes to play with? LOL

Your bag looks great. They're handy for so many things. Really pretty card too.

All three are wonderful LeAnne, the tote (amazing!), the card with the perfect die cut and your adorable gardener.

Ha! Me too - usually when I find something I can make I go home and promptly forget about it. Glad you remembered this. It's pretty and quite functional. And the little gardener is a real smilemaker!

Your bag turned out great, and I wish I'd had one at the scrap expo last week! LOL Love the card too, what a pretty flower image!

Love this colour combo - very rich. I like how use this tag on your cards - it inspires me with new ways to use it. The embossed/watercoloured flower is so pretty.
What could be simpler the digging for your own toys and getting "back to nature" ;) Cassidy looks like she's mastering that concept.

I laughed when I saw your post. I had the exact same thought when I saw the bag last year at Convention, but then I realized that I am not superwoman and did not have the time - so I bought one. Yours is fabulous. Oh yeah, and the card is great too - thanks for joining us at SR this week!!!!
