Hi stampers! It's Friday, and it's time for a new As You See It challenge! Joanne chose these colors for us this week:
And I must admit, as yummy as that lemon meringue tart looks, these colors were definitely a challenge for me! I decided to use my new Celebrate Sunflowers set, using the smaller sunflower to create a square card:
My layout comes from the sketch at The Spot this week:
My 4 1/4" square card was embossed with Pinewood Planks and I used Soft Suede DSP to create the horizontal and vertical layers. To add some interest, I added a diecut from Nature's Thoughts in Lovely Lipstick on each one. After stamping the sunflower in Soft Suede ink, I used Daffodil Delight Blends to color it in, and Call Me Clover ink and a Blender Pen for the leaves, then diecut it with the Sunflowers dies. I stamped it again on a piece of Soft Suede and used the circular die to cut it out, giving the center some height as I popped it up on dimensionals. I added a couple of stitched circles and a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, backed by a Lovely Lipstick mat.
This was my first time playing with this set, and I can't wait to play with it some more! I hope you'll find some inspiration from our challenge photo and play along with us this week too! See you at As You See It!
Dana sent me a screen shot that Cassidy took with Wayne's phone....while Dana was at work, Cassidy made her own lunch:
I can't wait for her to come make me some eggs---someday! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I never would have thought to combine these colors either......PIE!! lol You've done it beautifully, LeAnne! What a happy hello this is!
Now, I'm off to make some eggs... xx
=]
What a gorgeous inspiration photo and luscious looking eggs! I am debating ordering the Flowers for Every Season Collection because I already have Jar of Love. I'd appreciate your opinion. Now I'll give you my opinion on your creation :-) I think you did a great job with those colors and I really like your design. Have a blessed weekend. Will we get to see John in uniform or will there be no Memorial Day celebrations?
Oh my, this is one beautiful card, LeAnne! You definitely used those colors very well and that sunflower reminds me of a SU stamp from many years ago! Well done, my friend! Scrambled eggs....my favorite! Great job, Miss Cassidy! She sure is growing up!
I would have looked at those colors together and walked right on by, but I love the card you made with them! The sunflower looks so pretty and I love how you added those intricate die cuts and the fun little sentiment! I love Cassidy's photo too - how good she is at making her own lunch! Smart :)
That fabulous sunflower makes this a sunny hello! Great job Cassidy ;)
You've done a cracker job, LeAnne. I thought this was indeed a challenging combination but once again, you made it look effortless.
LeAnne, love your luscious colors on your card! The sketch you followed you really did a wonderful job! The sunflower really makes your card standout!
I’m not sure what possessed me to think these colours were a good combo in retrospect, but you made them work brilliantly on your square layout LeAnne! Your bright sunflower is the perfect focal meeting point for those strips of colour and with that lovely textured background too this is one cracking card! Those eggs look mighty fine too!
So beautiful LeAnne! I'm thinking those Sunflowers are going to be my favorite for this catalog! Thanks for joining us over at The Spot Challenge this week!
Super cute card thanks for playing along with us at the Spot this week
