Paper Players 168

DSCF8726

Howdy, partners!  Today’s Paper Players challenge is brought to you by me!  And here it is:

pp168

Yep, a CAS masculine birthday challenge!  I have several birthdays coming up, so this will help me get started!  I chose a Baked Brown Sugar base and added a stitched mat diecut from some Cosmo Cricket Wanted paper:

I just love those little cowboys bustin’ broncs on that paper!  I added a sentiment from a retired SU set called Afterthoughts, along with a diecut cowboy boot and a banner from SU’s burlap trim:

One little brad is my only other embellishment!  Sometimes it takes discipline not to add a bunch of other stuff to one’s card, right?!

Now, let’s see what you can come up with for this challenge—we all need masculine cards, so let this be your starting point!  Share it with us and be sure to check out the other designers’ creations as well:
DH is slowly working on his garage…and Cassidy turned it into her own little playroom; she made a (wooden) cake and put it in the “oven”:

Then she took it out and laid it on the “counter”:

And served a piece to Grampy!

Yum!  The power of imagination!  Enjoy your day!

Yay, it’s Friday!  I’m popping in with a quick card using the Seize the Sketch sketch #6:

I flipped the sketch so my little Storybook Friends pup wouldn’t be running off the side of my card!

I had a pleasant surprise when a sweet blog friend signed up as a demonstrator!  I wanted to send her a happy card to tell her she made my day!  I used some fun papers from Birthday Basics and I watercolored the wee pup in Crushed Curry with an aquapainter:

I also added a little Needlepoint Border embossing on the side…love that little extra touch!

A Plethora of Fall Cards

DSCF8689-001

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I had a little time to stamp this week, although a bout of insomnia is really ruining my crafty time!  Not sure what is going on…I either can’t fall asleep, or fall asleep, wake up and can’t go back to sleep!  Anyway, my craft counter is a MESS….there are fall stamps everywhere, Christmas stamps everywhere, cards everywhere….I really need a non-stamping day to get organized!  Anyway, I have been waiting all year to use this little W+9 Pretty Patches Pumpkin set, and I thought this would be good for the CASology 66 this week, which is pumpkins!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Pretty Patches Pumpkin CASology 66

I already had the gingham square laying on my desk from something else, so I just diecut and stamped the images and layered them on top:

The sentiment in the set is so pretty, I had to use it on the inside as well:

Here’s another card, this one uses stamps from a new-to-me company called Creative Time; this one uses the ColourQ colors from this week as well as some images from a Halloween Recollections set:

and finally, a Thanksgiving card, again using the same Creative Time set (it’s called Just For You) and the Retrosketches sketch for this week:

The leaf is from Waltzingmouse.

Cassidy is becoming quite a good helper in the kitchen, although she always wants to use utensils that aren’t quite age-appropriate!  I did let her use a plastic lettuce-cutting knife while I supervised; she actually did very well and contributed to the salad for that night’s dinner!

Orange Thankful Thoughts

DSCF8642

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Hope your week is good so far!  Today’s card makes me so happy!  It’s for two challenges:  The Shabby Tea Room has a beautiful fall inspiration challenge of a fall theme, pumpkins and a stamped sentiment:

and Linda’s Catered Crop challenge is ORANGE!  Growing up, my favorite color was orange.  I remember an orange dress that I made in high school, and if you look in my yearbook, under “likes”, orange is listed as my favorite color!  SO, I jumped on these challenges!  I pulled out a retired SU set that I have always loved, I think it’s called Thoroughly Thankful and my aquapainter and went to work:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings STR188 Orange Thankful Thoughts

I found some older Basic Grey paper and did some wonky stitching on it, then mounted my watercolored image on top, adding my sentiment in Cajun Craze at the bottom.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard and Cajun Craze for my images, and the little shadows are Crumb Cake.

DSCF8641

I also found some pretty patterned paper but I couldn’t make it work on the front, so I added it to the inside, along with my framed sentiment:

DSCF8643

Isn’t this a sweet sentiment?  And speaking of pumpkins, check out my wee pumpkin:

ColourQ 211

DSCF8609

Hey, peeps!  Today’s ColourQ challenge will crack you up:

Although this table is definitely not my style, it is whimsical and fun!  Perfect inspiration for a funky Halloween card:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ 211 Digital Halloween

I snagged this free digital image from Alison Spelman quite a while ago and this was the perfect time to use it!  I printed it out and colored it in with Copics and added some SU orange glitter:

DSCF8606

I used the sketch from this week’s Retrosketches for my layout:

and I used a piece from an old square dance crinoline to make my little ruffle along the side:

DSCF8610

A couple of button embellies and some chevron embossing, and this Halloween card is ready to mail!  I love that it uses non-traditional colors, too!  What can you make with this fun color combo?  Can’t wait to see it---share it with us at the ColourQ blog!

I pinned a cute craft for Cassidy last week and thought she would enjoy it since we had been talking about pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns.  It was just a pumpkin cut from orange felt and some black and yellow shapes that she could stick on the felt to make a face.  She didn’t’ quite get the concept because she hasn’t really made a jack-o-lantern yet!  She did enjoy cutting the felt scraps and lining up the shapes, though!

Oh, and she thought the pumpkin would make a good hat:

Merry Monday 79

DSCF8521

Happy Monday, peeps!  Lesley has a lovely inspiration  for all you Merry Monday stampers:

I just loved those little blue iced snowflake cookies, so I pulled out a retired SU set called Snow Flurries, and went to work:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 79 Snowflake Christmas Tree

I stamped an assortment of snowflakes in Encore Silver ink, then punched them out with a 1/2” circle punch.  The images actually fit inside a 3/4” punch, but I found they were too big to make my tree, so I went down to a smaller size.  I added some Marina Mist and Silver Glimmer circles as well:

DSCF8522

I added a glimmer star and trunk, and my little snowy tree was done.  To finish it off, I added a sentiment stamped in silver as well.  This was a really fun card to make!  Here’s the inside:

DSCF8524

Both sentiments are from Waltzingmouse’s Compliments of the Season.  Enjoy!

Paper Players 167

DSCF8555

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend!  Jaydee has a lovely BLUE inspiration for us this week!

Blue is my favorite color, especially these shades, but I was really stumped as to what to make this week!  I think my mind is on fall shades!  I pulled out a set from last year (that I was VERY sad to not see in this year’s catty), Perfectly Preserved.  It has a lot of nice fall images, but it also has a pretty floral image, so I used it for my card today:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 167 Perfectly Preserved

I stamped the jar in Versamark and Midnight Muse, then embossed it with clear embossing powder so that I could easily add the “water” inside without bleeding.  I used watercolor paper so the ink flowed easily.  I stamped some florals in the challenge colors (and I added Pistachio Pudding stems….I hope Jaydee doesn’t kick me out!), and then a sweet sentiment from Petite Pairs.

DSCF8557

I always need sympathy cards, so I am trying to get ahead!

DSCF8556

Hope you can find some inspiration from these colors---and share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog!  Can’t wait to see it!  And check out what the other designers created as well:
