PP598 A Garden Is a Friend

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Laurie as our hostess!  Here's her theme challenge for us this week!

Wow, you could go in many directions with this one!  I would say I do NOT have a green thumb...I always joke that my father was a farmer and my grandfather had a florist shop and greenhouses, but none of those genes were passed down to me!  However, I do have some pretty greenery and floral papers, so I decided to use some of them today.  Here we go:

I started with the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I diecut circles from Hues of Happiness DSP and Awash in Beauty DSP, then matted them with some Blushing Bride cardstock diecut scallops using the Layering Circles Dies and Stylish Shapes dies:

They were layered on a piece of Granny Apple Green DSP that was embossed with the Stitched Greenery die...can you see the little leaves?  So cute!  The sentiment is a really old Cornish Heritage Farms one, and I think it is such a sweet one! I stamped it in Old Olive and diecut it with a Tailor Made Tag die, then added some Blushing Bride ribbon, and I also fussy-cut a couple of flowers from the scraps of the DSP. I added a birthday sentiment on the inside, and this card is ready to go!

The possibilities for this challenge are wide open, so I hope you'll come play with us.  Check out what the design team created over at the Paper Players blog, and share yours too!  Thanks for visiting today!

That view is breathtaking!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

'And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.  God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.'  Genesis 1:9

What a sweet card LeAnne! I love the added texture with the stitched greenery on the dsp! And cutting out some of the images from the paper was a great idea to add to the sentiment. I also do not have a green thumb and I think that is why I love the flower dsps! Thanks for joining the hand stamped sentiments sketch challenge!

I think you're doing yourself a dis-service - you are more green-fingered than you give yourself credit for!! Love your delicate and pretty floral choices for your card and that sentiment made me smile - so true!

LeAnne, I just love that DSP it is so pretty and I love the layout, too. You mixed these DSPs together beautifully and I love the additional detail of the leaf pattern on the polka dots, the scalloped edges and that cute little ribbon on the tag. Fabulous card - oh... and what a view!

Beautiful card, LeAnne! I love how you layered the Stitched Greenery die on patterned paper, and your floral paper choices are fabulous. I, too, have black thumbs--but at least my paper can have pretty flowers on it!
