TCC165 Tis the Season for Peace

Hi there, stamping friends!  Happy December!!  It's time for a brand-new Card Concept challenge, where we create a card with a certain concept! (If you need help on what the concepts are, check out the CC blog!)  Here's the inspiration photo that Julie has for us this week:

Gosh, what a beautiful mantle!  So much to inspire us, too! For my clean and layered card, I took inspiration from the greenery, the plaids, and the candles (although mine is red!):

Several years ago, I bought a W+9 set from a fellow stamper and I don't think I've used it but a couple of times, and I know I never used the candle image!  So I set about to remedy that, stamping it in Real Red, then adding different greenery and pine cones from the same set.  I mounted everything on a whitewashed woodgrain panel of DSP, added a sentiment from another of my plethora of Christmas sets, then added a plaid diecut ribbon:

I didn't have any tiny bell dies, so I added some silver metallic pearls, and mounted everything on a panel of the same red plaid!  I just love the traditional seasonal colors together!  I am also entering it at Inkspirational, which is looking for plaid!

I hope you'll come play along with us and show us how this gorgeous photo inspires you!  It may be just what you need to finish up those last-minute Christmas cards!  Check out what all the designers created and see what their "concepts" are at The Card Concept blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

Remember the baby shower that Dana planned a couple of months ago?  Here's the guest of honor!!  Her name is Isla (pronounced "Eye-lah") and she is so tiny!!!  But what a cutie!  Cassidy was thrilled!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

LeAnne, you're so right - that IS a beautifully decorated mantle! I love that you were drawn to the plaid of the ribbon, and think your greenery, and candle is just as beautiful!
