PPA100 Delft Tile

PP47 banner

I was excited to see the 100th challenge on the Pals Paper Arts blog---I have been following them regularly, and their design team is superb!  I had this card made for another challenge, but never posted it, so I thought it would be fun to do for their “magnifique technique” challenge!  I first saw the Delft tile technique on SCS here.  I changed mine a tiny little bit by embossing the whole image that had been stamped with Vintage Vogue.  Let me know what you think:

Here is a closeup of the “tiles” with the clear embossing:

Almost looks like real tile, doesn’t it?  I didn’t want to detract from the image itself, so I left my Curly Cute sentiment and embellishments fairly simple.  Thanks for visiting today!

LeAnne very pretty card. I have done this but never did the clear emboss powder. So cool. AND how it could distract from the main image..... that adorable little grandbaby...of course!
Mine are coming to visit this weekend! Yippee. Hugs.

This is lovely - I have never seen it done and I love it! I think you will soon have to set up a separate craft desk for some little cutie :)

Love your card. I've never tried the embossing over the "tiles", -never thought of it, but it should have been a "given". I so enjoy your granddaughter's pictures (my youngest is just a little older)--keeps you busy,I'm sure, but what a joy and a blessing! I just chuckle seeing her expressions.

Wow it really does look like tile. Great idea.
Oh the pictures are going to be good now. And think you will have a reason to why your craft room is messy. LOL

Love the tiles! Great pattern you created too :) I had to giggle at your grand daughter getting into things as it brought back a LOT of memories of my son. He had an endless curiosity and got into everything (not to mention having to put it all in his mouth too!)

Love this look, LeAnne! It does look like tiles. Have you placed your first order? I finished my order while watching the tennis semi's. Looks like you little gd is so sweet. Mine is a rounder(from the beginning, a second). Colin the first, was so good and so much fun(still is). Colin has always been so good in my craft room and anywhere else for that matter. Just tell her no firmly, but nicely and she will be OK.

Awesome technique, especially with that stamp set! I have to give this a try, for sure! Uh oh, looks like you may have a future stamper on your hands. Hee hee! :)

Gorgeous card. I love this technique. I'll have to look through my stamps and see what I have that will work as I don't own any background stamps.
