Stitched Get Well

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The week is on the downhill slide!  I've been busy planning for clubs and camps but I did manage to squeak in a little card for a couple of challenges!  I haven't played with the Color Throwdown challenge for a long time, and Amy at Freshly Made Sketches has an interesting sketch:

I went way, way, way back in the archives of my stamp room to retrieve some retired colors for my card today....anyone remember Certainly Celery or Barely Banana?  I used cardstocks in those two hues, plus the more recently-retired Seaside Spray, to diecut some My Favorite Things flowers to create this:

I layered a few of the flowers, added some simple punched centers and a sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals, then attached them to a Basic White mat embossed with the Stitched Greenery die:

I mounted it all on a Certainly Celery base!  It was fun to pull out those old colors!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

St Patrick's Day Card--Sorta

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a fun, simple little card for you today; it's sort of a St Patrick's Day card, although I don't normally send out cards for that holiday, I do have a couple of friends whose birthdays are close, so I thought it would be fun to combine them!  I saw a very sweet card on Dawn Olchefske's blog (it was a swap from Deb Snyder, and you can see it here) so I thought I would CASE it in some Garden Green papers and ink:

I warned you...super simple!  I embossed a piece of Basic White with the Stitched With Whimsy die, then mounted it on a card of Garden Green.  I had a piece of Garden Green DSP left over from another project, so I folded it on the diagonal and adhered it. I then created my shamrock by stamping and punching three of the smaller hearts from the Country Bouquet stamp and punch:

I added the "luv ya" from Conversation Bubbles and a birthday sentiment on the inside from A Grand Kid, also embossed with the Stitched With Whimsy die:

I am also entering this at the AAA Birthday Challenge, where they're looking for Stripes and/or Dots, and I have both!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC304 You're In My Thoughts

Happy Monday, peeps!  Mondays are always errand days for me...how about you?  I had a wee bit of stamping time yesterday and needed to make a few thank you/thinking of you cards for some customers, and when I saw the sketch from Sunday Stamps, I knew I could put it to use!  Here's the sketch:

When SU sends out their mini catalogs, we sometimes tend to forget all the goodies in the regular catalog!  I still have a fair bit of Hues of Happines DSP left, so I pulled out a couple pieces and went to work:

I chose some of the watercolor-ish paper for my background, then diecut some matching roses to put on my Basic White panel.  It was diecut with a Scalloped Contour die, then I added another layer on top which was embossed with the Stitched Greenery die; it's a bit hard to see but it's peeking out from behind the florals!

I did decide to use a current mini catalog sentiment, stamped in Highland Heather; it's from Best Family Ever, which is a really versatile set to have!  After stamping it, I diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die:

And it's on its way!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.  Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. Psalm 111:2-3

PP630 Happy Easter

Hello, stamping friends!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess this week and she has a fun theme for us; check out her little mood board:

I have a lot of stamps I could have used for this challenge, but I remembered this cute little lamb I had from a few years back, and even though there's no lamb in the theme board, I thought it would be okay!  So here we go:

I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches, which is also Joanne's:

I started with a Petal Pink card base and added a layer of Soft Seafoam to peek through the openings of my Dots & Spots Basic White diecut layer. The bottom layer is a Petal Pink plaid from Country Gingham DSP.  The little lamb was stamped in Smoky Slate, then colored with some Blends:

I stamped the sentiment from the same set inSoft Seafoam and diecut it too:

The inside sentiment is from a CTMH set from a few years ago:

I am sure you'll be able to find some inspiration from Joanne's challenge!  Please share your creation with us at the Paper Players and check out what the DT created while you're there!  Thanks for popping by---enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS575 Peace on Earth

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! Ours is pretty quiet!  I did a bit of stamping yesterday and created a Christmas card using the FMS sketch:

I recently saw a post about embossed vellum, so I thought I would pair some sparkly DSP from Christmas with a snowflake-embossed piece of vellum and a pretty gold-embossed sentiment:

It's a bit of a challenge to see the embossing here; maybe this angle will be better:

I added a gold foil diecut border behind the black and gold DSP, and a few swirls and pearls for pizzazz!  When I first glanced at the sketch, I didn't realize the sentiment was supposed to be in the lower right corner, so after embossing the sentiment in the diecut circle, I added another tiny one, tucking it under the gold foil swirls:

A simple sentiment on the inside:

Another card for my stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

So Cassidy's been playing rec basketball; there were four teams of sixth, seventh and eighth graders, some of whom are really, really good players!  She held her own, for only just taking it up in the fall!  Last night was a playoff game and although they lost, they held the other team to only three points and they played a great game.   Here's a (very poor) photo of Cassidy taking a foul shot:

She had a really supportive coach; after the playoffs he game them each a gift: a personalized water mug with their name and number on it, and COOKIES.....look at those cute cookies!!!  Their team name was Sun:

You can tell she was excited!  And here they are...they had fun despite the loss!  They'll be even better next year!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT596 Let's Celebrate

Hi peeps!  The week is winding down, looking forward to the weekend!  I have a birthday card using some pretty papers from Regency Park and a sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love peach and coral hues, so these prints just make me happy!  So here we go:

I ran a piece of this pretty polka-dotted pattern through my Stitched With Whimsy die and added the elements with coordinating patterns.  The flower was diecut with the retired Pierced Blooms (which in my opinion, should never have been retired!!!) from some Sweet Sorbet glimmer paper, and the sentiment from Simply Fabulous was stamped in Sweet Sorbet on a stitched panel from the same die set:

Peaceful Moments provided the sentiments for the inside, and I stamped a little two-step floral from Simply Fabulous in there as well!  This will soon be winging its way to a birthday recipient!

Easy peasy!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC514 Gift Card Holders

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have a couple of little gift card holders for you today; I rarely make them and yet they really come in handy when you don't know quite what to get someone!  I am using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

The folded card holder measures 3" x 4 1/4".  I started with a piece of cardstock that measured 4 1/4" x 7 3/4", then scored at 3" and 6".  The remaining 1 3/4" flap gets folded to the inside and adhered close to the edges so that the gift card can slide inside.  For this particular one, I used Mango Melody cardstock and some Dandy Designs DSP:

I created a little faux gift bag, gave it a twine handle and some tissue paper, then mounted it on a retired Stitched Nested Label diecut.

The cupcake is from Lawn Fawn, and the sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs:

I used sentiments from the retired Picture Perfect Birthday for the inside panels.

I decided to do another one, this time using current products (although the Dandy Designs was a SAB gift and is no longer available), but I used a sentiment from Charming Sentiments directly on the DSP, made the gift bag a single layer so that it would be simpler to create, and added a birthday candle from the Sentiments Silhouettes dies:

The sentiments for the inside of this one are from Peaceful Moments:

Still fun and cute!  The possibilities for these little gift card holders are endless!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
