Happy Sunday everyone! It’s Paper Players time and this week I am the hostess! With Lesley’s help, I made my first sketch! I hope you’ll play with us this week! Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my card:
I took the opportunity to make another Christmas card for my stash using some new stuff—Well Worn designer paper—as well as some old stuff—the reindeer from Winter Post. Although it is difficult to see, my little reindeer are heat embossed:
I don’t have Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, but I do have clear embossing powder, so I inked my stamp in Versamark, then Cherry Cobbler ink, then stamped it on River Rock cardstock. I sprinkled the clear EP on top, heated it up and voila—Cherry Cobbler embossing! You can use this technique with any color ink—just be sure to clean your stamp between each stamping!!!! I used the Music Notes wheel for my background on the Very Vanilla panel as well as part of the Well Worn panel, and added some of that sweet new quilted ribbon that will be available in the Holiday Mini:
The inside also uses a new set that will be available in the mini, Sounding Joy:
Thanks for visiting, and please do stop by the Paper Players blog to play long using my sketch this week!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Four the Holidays, Winter Post, Music Notes Wheel
- Paper: Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, River Rock, Well Worn DP
- Ink: Cherry Cobbler, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Versamark
- Acc: Antique Brad, Quilted Ribbon, Scallop Die, Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Crumb Cake Marker, Clear EP, Heat Tool

Love your card LeAnne! I have just decided I'm going to get one of those wheels, your just so clever! Can you tell me about the shading around the reindeer? I love your sketch, it has sent me upstairs to see what I can come up with.

Great sketch - and I love how Well Worn looks in a Christmas card! That is my favorite DSP! Just might have to invest in some of that quilted ribbon :)
This gorgeous!! I love the embossed deer! Such an elegant card!
Gorgeous! River Rock and Cherry Cobbler are amazing together; I just discovered that last week and WOW! Now I actually LIKE River Rock!

Love it! Thanks for the tip on using the versamark & the ink pad together. So, we can go right from the versamark, directly to our ink pad? I didn't know you could do that. I will give that a try since wondering how I could use all my beautiful ink pads with the clear embossing powder.
LeAnne... how adorable! Love your sketch and hope to play along. Just LOVE the reindeer circles and the music notes are fab! I too have been inspired to get those out and use again. The background paper works so great here.
That little cutie face is adorable too. Hugs.
Lovely card. Yay, Cassidy has gotten her front teeth and she loves to show them off. So cute.
