No Stampin' Diva #157

Happy Wednesday!  Today's Diva challenge is a sketch for you to try:

DCBD157

After much frustration, I decided to go the non-stampin' route and pulled out my Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' kit and began playing around with all the little elements to come up with this:

I trimmed the sentiment panel to make it fit better, then used my corner rounder to give it a little pep; the striped border was cut in half to make it more visually pleasing, and all the elements are just peel & stick!  EASY!!!

So we'd love to have you play too!  After posting your creation using this sketch on your blog or online gallery, link it to Mr Linky at the Diva Coffee Break Designs blog--exact links, please!  You might be chosen as our Featured Designer of the week!

To be honest, the above card was not my first attempt at this sketch!  (Remember I said I was frustrated?)  So here is my FIRST attempt.....and it is really not finished; there is supposed to be a bow/ribbon on the vertical panel, but I just can't bring myself to cover up that "JOY"!!!  Any ideas?

I might just send it out the way it is!!!  Let me know what you think!

I like it just the way it is. That dp is gorgeous and I love the way you used the punched pieces. ~chris

Love the color combo. How 'bout some thin silver cording just below the Joy...

Thanks for not only sharing your beautiful card but your "failed" attempt too. I may try this sketch, but it's intimidating....
I'd restamp the center of the joy on another color and pop it up. But silver cording would be nice too.

The first one, FABULOUS! LOVE that twill ribbon with the line of color in the middle! The second one... don't do anything to it! It's beautiful! Oh, but Caryl's idea is a good one! Pop up the JOY part, and then take Doris' idea and run some silver cord under it!

Hi LeAnne, I am home is the middle of a blizzard. You should see all the snow. We have about 12 inches so far and more to come with 30 to 40 mph winds.
I love your cards today. The layout is great and I love the colors. I am wondering about the colors names. I made a chart of the SU colors. The only one I have is pretty in pink. Are the other names the new ones that are coming out? What SU colors would be the same?
Thanks,
Linda

I like it the way it is too! I think that your colour choice is divine and the words on the panel are a real feature!

Very beautiful cards! I love the colors on your joy card. Although it is nice the way it is, you had asked for suggestions? I would do something to the word joy, like add glitter or another stamped panel, and that could be in place of your ribbon. You always have such nice work, and I don't think you need any advice!
