A Case of Hearts

DSCF3081

A Kristina Werner case, anyway.  I saw this card on her blog and thought it was sweet, so I did my own little take on it:

DSCF3080

I was annoyed at the way the white fibers showed on my hearts when they were punched from the DP, so I did some outlining with a marker.....not sure if I like that effect or not.  But it was a fun, quick card, right up my alley.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Color Throwdown Challenge!

  • Stamps:  Best Wishes & More
  • Paper:  Kraft, Candy Lane, RHR Patterns, WW
  • Ink: Riding Hood Red
  • Acc:  Scallop Border Punch, Hearts Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, dimensionals, Ruby Red marker

This is so sweet, LeAnne! I like the hearts outlined...it gives it definition. BTW, thanks for choosing my card for last week's Color Throwdown! I totally was not expecting it! I truly honored!

Great idea for the edging. Sometimes if you just turn the punch over you get a better cut on the side of the paper that you want to use.

Jeanette's advice is true, but who ever thinks of that until it's too late?

You know what you COULD do?? Run the edge of the heart over an embossing pad, dip the edge into silver embossing powder and melt it. I did that once to little squares and made it look like a foil frame.

This is just adorable! It's simple but those hearts just pop right off the page!

Maybe you need to sharpen your punch...have you tried aluminum foil? Your hearts still look great!

This is absolutely so sweet! (P.S. I HATE that when white edges show on punched papers!)
