JB Snow Much Fun

Happy wet, rainy, damp, dreary Friday, everyone!  Hubby keeps saying, "It could be SNOW" but personally, I wish for some snow--we've have none this winter!  Anyway, to channel my wish for snow, I made a snowy Christmas card for the Jingle Belles challenge this week, which is embossing!  I actually made this card a wee bit ago but never posted it for the intended challenge, so I was happy to use it for the JB girls!  So here we go:

While looking at the gallery of the Christmas cards I've created so far this year, they've all been BLUE!  So I think I'd better give some of my other colors a go soon, LOL!  Anyway, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock with a Darice embossing folder and used some Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush to give it some color.  I then diecut some Marina Mist glimmer paper snowflakes and adhered them on top of the blending:

I added a mat of Marina Mist cardstock as well as a little sentiment from the retired Snow Much Fun, and it was done!  Easy peasy!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Yesterday was Dana's actual birthday so I gave her forty gifts (wee little things) all wrapped up in a big box!  I had to put two of them on top as I couldn't fit everything inside!

Almost to the bottom of the box!

Soda-flavored lip gloss!  Yum!

Then we took her out for lunch!  It's become a tradition, and a fun one I really enjoy!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.  Isaiah 64:4

FMS573 Hand Penned Thanks

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The sketch that Kim designed over at FMS is really cute this week, but they're always cute!  I used it to make a thank you card:

And since I love all the prints and plaids that SU currently has using Petal Pink, I gathered a few together, cut them out with a Stitched Rectangle die and here's what I came up with:

This is my second monochromatic card in two days...I think I need to change things up here soon, lol!  The panels were a wee bit shorter than a standard sized card, so I trimmed my card down a bit, then added some Petal Pink stitched scallops at the top and bottom, then stamped and diecut a simple floral image from Hand-Penned Petals:

I fussy-cut the sentiment, popped it up on some really skinny pieces of dimensionals, then added some iridescent sequins for fun!  Clean and simple!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana could do some moonlighting as a hairdresser:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RR200 For The Newlyweds

Hi stampers!  A very quick, simple card today; a young-ish couple in our church is getting married on Saturday and the bride loves purple, so I used the sketch from my friends at Retro Rubber to create a card for them. Here's the sketch:

I used a simple sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and some purple papers, so here we go:

I embossed a Basic White panel with a retired Heart embossing folder, then added some retired Highland Heather DSPs along with some Valentine papers from last year for the lower portion of the card.  I stamped the sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes, 2009) in Gorgeous Grape ink.  I added two white glimmer hearts, although it's hard to see the glimmer here, and a purple gem:

I did cheat a wee little bit and added some hearts from Country Bouquet to accent the sentiment from Peaceful Moments (2021):

Now if I could just figure out what to wear, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

The party is in full swing here!

The kids escaped to the balcony where they had their own little party!

Poor Avery was outnumbered by all those girls!  And we did manage to get a family shot:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC512 Football Thanks

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Happy Valentine's Day too! I took a little break from stamping this weekend (more about that later) and finally got back into my stamp room yesterday!  We were invited to a Super Bowl party on Sunday and I wanted to send our hosts a thank you card, so I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week:

This card is a little unusual...no flowers, but lots of footballs and Philadelphia Eagles colors:

I embossed a panel of Tranquil Tide with a polka dot embossing folder and tore the edge, then adhered it to a Basic White card base on which I embossed some stars!  I stamped and fussy-cut some footballs and arranged them behind a Cinnamon Cider panel and added a green glimmer paper star!

I added a sentiment from Country Bouquet, and a big thanks from Biggest Wish on the inside, along with some other embellishments!

Even though the Eagles lost, it was still a fun party!

SO.....Dana has a big birthday coming up on Thursday, and a few weeks ago, Wayne told me he wanted to surprise her with a big party!  He took care of the getting the venue, the food and a list of all the guests; I sent out invites, got the cake and made cupcakes.  He arranged for her friend to get her to the venue, and IT WORKED!  She was totally surprised and Wayne, Cassidy and I breathed a big sigh of relief!  I talk to her every day on her way home from work, and it was so hard to not spill the beans, especially since my sister and BIL flew in from South Carolina to surprise her as well!  I didn't take any pictures myself because I wanted to enjoy all the moments, so I didn't get a photo of her coming through the door, but it was priceless!  She took a moment after all the excitement to get a picture with her momma, wearing the tiara and sash that Wayne got for her:

Here she is with her girlie cousins (one guest saw Paige and Kelly, the girls on the left, as they were getting out of their car and said to her husband, "This has to be the right place...those blonds are either sisters or cousins!"); sadly, we were missing one from Chicago who couldn't make it (by the way,  Allyson, on the right, is Sawyer and Jamison's mommy!):

The venue was spectacular: Britain Hill Vineyard, out in the rolling hills of southern Lancaster county features a large barn set on top of a hill with spectacular views!  And it's only a few minutes away from their home!  This is the calm before the storm:

I know Dana likes rose gold, so her friend provided these gorgeous balloons!

I'll share more later!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP627 Retro Typewriters

Hi stampers!  Ann is our hostess at the Paper Players this week and she has a wonderful color challenge for us! Check out these pretty pastels:

I saw a cute card with a typewriter on it a few days ago, and when I saw these colors, I knew I wanted to get out the typewriter die I'd gotten a few years ago and put it to use:

The FMS sketch worked great for my little typewriters:

I cut out two typewriters from So Saffron and Petal Pink cardstock and backed them with some scraps of Basic Black and Gold Foil, then added little notes I created with Basic White cardstock on which I drew lines with a Balmy Blue marker and punched a wee little hole:

I used a black magic marker to ink in a couple of sentiments from Conversation Bubbles on my "notebook paper", then mounted everything on a piece of Crumb Cake that was stamped with a sentiment from Country Bouquet and embossed with a Typewriter embossing folder.  On the inside, I added this sentiment, also from Country Bouquet; I also stamped a few hearts and a flower from Lovely You:

One of my college roommates also sends me a Valentine card, so I am going to send this to her!  We've been friends for over 50 years!  She would also be familiar with my little blue typewriter I had in college...and I still have it!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from our colors this week!  They're perfect for spring, for a baby card, or something floral!  Be sure to check out what the design Team at the Players created as well!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT593 Shaded Summer Thanks

Hi stamping friends!  I needed a couple of thank you cards, so I decided to use the sketch from the week's Try Stampin on Tuesday along with the Shaded Summer stamp set and some papers from the SAB Dandy Designs.  First, the sketch:

And here we go:

I would never have thought to put the colors of Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia together, but the prints are so fun, I decided to embrace them!  I stamped the floral image in Fresh Freesia, then diecut it and added to a circle of DSP.  Another pattern created the vertical panel and I added a scalloped edge of Fresh Freesia as well.

I diecut a panel of Basic White with a Scalloped Contours die and stamped a sentiment from Biggest Wish in Pale Papaya, adding some sprigs from the Shaded Summer set as well.  That cute little flag banner is from the All That dies, and I added some Pale Papaya ribbon and some Iridescent sequins for shine!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name.  For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

CAS Valentine Love Note

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a CAS Valentine card (almost the last one, LOL!) today and it uses the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments along with the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I had several ideas in mind for a card but since the color challenge is a CAS challenge, I decided to go mostly white with a few accents in the challenge colors.  So here we go:

I used several retired products on top of my Stitched Greenery panels: the circular "wreath" and flowers are from a set called Perfectly Wrapped. The Mint Macaron leaves are from the Pierced Blooms dies.  The little envelope and love notes are from a set called Sealed With Love, along with the matching Love Note dies:

I added some rhinestones, colored with Blends, to the centers of the flowers.  And the inside sentiment and hearts are also from Sealed With Love:

It took a while for Sweet Sorbet to grow on me, but now I really love it! It's a pretty shade of red!

And speaking of red, this little lady flashed outside my window yesterday but she flew away when she heard my camera...and I was inside!!!  The picture is a little blurry because I was taking it through the screen:

The male pileateds have a red moustache, so I knew this one was a female.  She's come to visit several times this winter!  Look at those claws!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!
