CPS107 Seeds of Kindness

You might say that I am addicted to these digital images from Arielle; it’s just that it is so easy to print out a whole sheet and then color them up!  I don’t have many Copics in the purple family, so I added some blues to make this little pansy card:

I can almost believe that spring will arrive by looking at this card….today’s weather is not very springy, that’s for sure!  Hope your day is super!

CTD134 Decidedly Different

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Another Color Throwdown today, with Danielle as our hostess!  Fun colors today, and I’ve used them in a crazy way!  First, let’s see the hues:

I have been trying to keep on track with my weekly Christmas cards, so I made a wacky, decidedly different Christmas card using Danielle’s colors:

Since this image is fairly large, I sized this card to fit into a business-size envelope.  I stamped the panels in the three colors, then cut out the smaller sections and adhered them; the scalloped mat is actually two mats aligned and adhered together as one.  I used some dyed seam binding, baker’s twine, (thanks, Tammy!) a button and a flashy orange snowflake (roll with me here, people) for my embellishments:

Definitely out of the box, but I am loving it!  I know some jolly soul will enjoy it at Christmas time!  And just a hint…..remove your project from your work area before dying your seam binding…..let’s just say that a white gel pen came in handy on this project.

Ay, caramba!  Arielle’s color challenge today for the ColourQ really had me going!  What do you think:

A gorgeous inspiration photo!  But Concord Crush  scares me!  But I persevered,  and I thought I would take my little “jewel” of a DGD and make a 6x6 scrapbook page, since her mommy likes to dress her in purple:

I am scrapbook-challenged, as you know, and this little page took a lot longer than it should have!  Anyway, there are lots of little embellishments:

See the little raggedy edge of the journaling piece?  That’s the top edge of a piece of DP torn from its binding.  I fished it out of the trash---shameful, but that little edge was so cute, I couldn’t resist!  Not much stamping, mostly doodads…..now if I would just do some more to add to my scrapbook!

Today’s SCS challenge is a sketch challenge! What a lovely one it is, too! I chose the same digital image as yesterday, changed up the sentiment, colored it with Copics and added a simple bow. A totally different look:

Pretty Palette 1

Two posts in one Sunday—wowza!  There’s a new challenge out there called Pretty Palette and since I needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her FIL, I thought I’d play along!  Here’s the palette:

I used another of Arielle’s images and sentiments (just can’t stop using them!) for my card:

My friend loves gerbera daisies, so this was a natural choice for me.  I used Copics to color the image and printed the center of the flower on some SU Patterns DP.  Thanks for visiting today---gotta run!

Paper Players CAS Sketch 39

Happy Sunday to everyone!  It’s another Paper Players Challenge, and this week Jaydee has given us a Clean & Simple sketch:

and here is my card:

I love CAS, so I couldn’t wait to start playing!  I chose a sheet of designer paper from the Botanical Gazette line; one side became my focal image, the flip side became my background.  I did a little spritzing, distressing and shading on the focal image, and I stamped the Woodgrain BG stamp on my background image.  My CTD teammate, Kristin, made a very cute little bird’s nest shown on this card, and that gave me the idea to make one for my card too!  Thanks, Kristin!  Mine is a little bit different, as I used hemp twine, then colored some pearls with a Copic marker to make my “eggs”.  Since my card is Not Quite Navy, I added another piece of the DP on the inside, stamping some of the Nature’s Walk images as well as a sentiment from Bring on the Cake:

Coinky-Pink

I seem to have been using a lot of pink lately!  I guess perhaps it is because it is a nice spring color and I have been eagerly awaiting the warmer temps and the first signs of magnolia blossoms!  Here are a few pink cards I’ve done lately:

This is a gorgeous digi image from my friend Arielle; it was printed on Very Vanilla and colored with Copics, then simply embellished with pink satin ribbon and some buttons.  This was also for the SCS “How Does Your Garden Grow” challenge yesterday. 

This adorable vintage girl stamp was a gift from my sweet friend Martha, along with those beautiful crocheted flowers (among other things!).  In my craft room, the ink and paper seemed to match a bit better than it does on my screen; I used Regal Rose ink on Pink Pirouette CS, and the DP is actually Blushing Bride and Pure Poppy!!!  I had some gigantically wide organdy ribbon that I tied into a bow and crinkled with my heat tool….and that was it!  I will add a sentiment inside when I decide what I’ll use it for!

These little beauties are a digital image from the Graphics Fairy; I made them into a simple birthday card using PTI stamps and some K&Co paper, mounted on a Pretty in Pink card.  The sweet little floral punchout is another nifty gifty from Martha!

Finally, this was for Thursday’s WT314 challenge at SCS, which was to use a smile!  This little digi image from Mo’s Digital called “What’s Cooking” is being used to raise funds for relief in Japan….at $1, it is a gem, and for a good cause.  I colored her with Copics too, mounted her on some recipe-imaged papers, again from K&Co, and added a little tag stamped with a Purple Onion sentiment and a crinkly doily from a PTI diecut.  Just look at that smile!
