Fluttering by the Stamper's Showcase

I feel like I have been MIA lately!  I have been busy with LIFE so I haven't been stamping much.  I found out this morning, much to my surprise, that a card I submitted to Stampin'Up! was on their Stamper's Showcase!  If you're not a demo, you won't be able to access it, so I'll just show you here!

Fluttering Glittery Butterfly SU

Actually, you're more fortunate if you can't access it....you can see it much more clearly here!

Hopefully I'll do some stamping today and post again; if not, tomorrow is Color Throwdown day and I'll have a real cutie for you then!

Apples for Me

I am so blessed to have wonderful stampin' friends who send me wonderfully stamped cards to post on my blog on  weekends that are so crazy, I have no time to stamp!  This beauty of a card is from my sweet friend Beth:

Beth's Apple Basket

The colors on this card are just glowing--she did such a great job with the watercoloring.  I have it sitting on my desk just to look at it over & over again!  She used to be a Longaberger consultant and said she hadn't used this stamp in ages.....I am so glad she did!  Thanks, Beth!  Hopefully this week will be a tiny bit less hectic and I can get some stamping in!  TFL!

For a Special Friend

I won't have much time to stamp today so I thought I would share a little gift I recently made for a new blog friend! (Hi Elaine!)  She placed an on-line order through my Stampin'Up! demonstrator website, and I wanted to thank her.  She lives in Washington and I live in Pennsylvania!!!  Imagine that---and we have been getting to know each other a little bit at a time!  I made her a card folder from one sheet of cardstock folded in half, then folded up from the bottom.  I made four cards using Best Wishes & More, kind of staying with the same design and DP, but using different ink colors and images.  Then I decorated the front & tied it off with some ribbon.  This is the kind of project that could be really embellished to the hilt, or left simple as I did. It would be a great stamp camp project---might just have to do that!  Anyway, since she let me know she received it, I can share it with you now:

Elaine's Folder Front Here's the front of the folder.  I used Autumn Vine, More Mustard & Baja Breeze for my cardstock choices.

Elaine's Folder Open Here's the folder open with the cards and envelopes (stamped also!).

No No No! Challenge

Meaning....a no embellishment card!  Sounded like a fun SCS challenge today, and without even realizing it, I stamped a card that fit that bill when my stampin' friends Alison & Athena came over today.  Alison designed this card:

10-03-08 challenge 3

It uses all SU products--I am in a hurry, so I am not going to list the recipes, email if you need to know!  Then later tonight, using some SU & Cornish Heritage Farm Vintage Christmas Sign stamps, I made this one:

10-03-08 challenge 2

I am dying to add some glitter, but rules is rules!  TFL!!

NMBS Challenge

I have to work today, so no stampin' this morning. I thought I would post the card I did for the NMBS (see link at right) Mini Holiday Catalog swap since most everyone received theirs yesterday.

NMBS Challenge Holiday Mini

I love this card, but it isn't one I would make in quantity to send out!  But it sure was fun to put all the elements together, and you know how I like to watercolor.  Hopefully within the next week, I'll post some of the other swaps I received!  Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

A No Stampin' Card & Happy Mail

My downline, Laura, let me play with her new Sissix and dies!  Wow, what fun!  I cut out a few diecuts and went to work assembling this little number:

No Stampin Card 3

First, I need to credit Melanie with the pumpkin tutorial.  I saw how she did hers on her blog and I couldn't wait to try them!  I cut my pumpkins with my oval Nestabilities.  I couldn't quite figure out how to do it with the Big Shot; I know there is a way, but I was missing a plate or something, so I did it in my CB.  Her stems are much better than mine, but this was sort of a prototype.  I can fine-tune them later!  The flowers and birds were from the Birds & Blooms die; the background is the Top Note die cut from gingham paper (a digital DP from My Favorite Things), printed on Kraft.  Flower stems are retired narrow Old Olive twill ribbon.  Everything is mounted on Naturals Ivory cardstock.    This is a bright fall-colored card that was a lot of fun to do!  Again, I'll put a sentiment on the inside when I decide how I'm going to use it!  TFL!

  • Paper:  Naturals Ivory, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, So Saffron, More Mustard, Old Olive, Kraft
  • Ink:  Pumpkin Pie, Craft White, Old Olive, More Mustard
  • Acc:  Big Shot & Dies, Old Olive ribbon, sponge daubers, white gel pen, dimensionals, black marker, WC Pencils

Now, imagine my surprise & delight when I opened my mailbox and found these two beauties:

Candy from Bee Candy from Pat

All the goodies on the left are from Bee; she had a little contest on her blog to guess the gender of her baby.  I guessed wrong and she still gave me some goodies!  Can't wait to use them!  And just because Pat is such a sweetie, and because I visited her blog, she made this cute post-it note magnet.  Let me tell you, this pen writes so smoothly, NOBODY is using this pen but me!  And the paper on the coaster is glittery & cool!  THANKS, LADIES!   Make sure to check out their blogs and give them a shout!

Lucky 13 Color Throwdown Challenge

CTD13 banner

Wow, 13 challenges so far, and this week I get to be the lucky one to pick out the colors!  I have picked Baja Breeze, So Saffron and More Mustard.  I think I could use Baja Breeze on just about every card I make.  I have loved all the blue In Colors and this one is no exception!  I hope you will take some time to create something with these colors and post it in the comment screen, linking it to your blog.  Or if you want to post on SCS, be sure to use the key word  CTD13.  If you don't have these exact colors, don't worry, just use something close!

CTD13 swatch

Today's card is 6x3" and uses So Saffron for the base and Baja Breeze and More Mustard for the scalloped squares.  The base is also stamped in So Saffron with the leaf image from Best Wishes & More.  DP from Autumn Vine and Manchester form backgrounds for my sticker letters from Basic Grey.  I added some accent ribbons, stamped "happy" in Craft More Mustard and embossed it with clear EP and popped everything up on dimensionals.

CTD13

This is a little out of my comfort range--I don't usually mix letter cases on my cards like this, but it looks kind of fun and it will be a good birthday card for one of the guys on my church birthday list!  You can seeCTD13 Happy closeup a closeup of the embossing here:

  • Stamps:  Happy Everything, Best Wishes & More
  • Paper:  So Saffron, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Autumn Vine & Manchester DP
  • Ink:  Craft More Mustard, So Saffron
  • Acc:  Clear EP, Square Scallop Punch, Asst SU ribbons, dimensionals, Basic Grey sticker letters
