This card is probably a bit more elaborate than my typical “clean and simple” card, which usually tends to be one layer, but I really wanted to use some of my new goodies, and the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary fit my plan! Here’s the sketch:
New goodies that I used were: Watermelon Wonder & Cucumber Crush inks, Friendly Wishes stamp set, Cherry on Top DSP and Cotton Paper and Watermelon Wonder cardstock!
I cut rectangles of the Cherry on Top DSP and stacked them up, embellishing them with a wee strip of the Cotton paper in Cucumber Crush….it’s a very thin paper, heavier than tissue paper, but very flexible and fun to use! My “thx” diecut is from the Circle Card thinlet, and I hand-cut the hearts out. Embossing is with Decorative Dots EF!

Cassidy’s last day of preschool was Wednesday, although she will have a “graduation” ceremony this week! Dana put these two photos together of the first and last days…..how quickly they grow up!

Ok. You are just teasing me with the cherry on top paper! It is so cute and I love how you used it on this card,too. I love all that white space..really makes the papers and sentiment pop!

Oh these colors are so perfect together--fun and happy. Great idea to use the cotton paper like ribbon--can't wait to play with some of it. Love these pics of Cassidy--she's just adorable!

Hi Kathy! I am so thrilled you visited my blog! The bright pink border is the new In Color Watermelon Wonder, and it was punched with SU's Scallop Edge punch, and then I embossed it with a little stitched embossing folder that SU had called Needlepoint Border. It is (sadly) retired, but perhaps you can find it on ebay somewhere!!!

Well, my friend - this is gorgeous, with a cherry on top! I love that green and red pairing against the white - so very clean and fresh and that sentiment panel with the diecut 'thx' just pops! Love the cotton trim and border edge too. As for Miss Cassidy - where does the time go?! I hope she has a fun graduation this week. xx
This is a perfect card for this time of year LeAnne! Love the little cherries and the mix of patterns. I can't believe how much Cassidy has grown this past year. She still had a sweet baby face when she started pre-school and has sprouted into such a pretty little girl!!

It doesn't feel much like cotton, it feels more like plastic....it's very thin and a bit hard to manipulate unless you cut it in smaller pieces. I am interested in seeing what others do with it!

I just love seeing what you are doing with new products, LeAnne! I think my favorite part of this card is the adorable paper with the cherries. That is most definately on my wish list. Wow, Cassidy grew alot in just a few months! Her face looks so much more grown up, too. I'm sure she thinks so!

Margaret, this "cotton" paper does NOT feel like cotton at all...more like very thin plastic, so just be prepared! I am anxious to use it for some other applications to see how it works! Thanks for popping by, too!
