Merry Little Stocking

Happy Friday!  It’s been rather a whirlwind around our house; my DH had a medical emergency which prompted an overnight stay in the hospital, so I am feeling a bit weary.  He’s okay and home now…we appreciate all the prayers that went out.  I had stamped this sweet little Christmas card last week and this seems like a good time to pull it out:

I had purchased SU’s stocking punch but not the coordinating stamp set; even without that, you can make a cute card!  I had a scrap of Real Red already embossed, so I popped it in the punch, along with a piece of white and Garden Green Patterns DP for the coordinating pieces.  I ran a piece of GG cardstock through my Big Shot using the medium-sized Square Scallop die, then slid it over in the die and ran it through again to get the size of rectangle I wanted.  I stamped the Christmas Collage background stamp on it, sponged the edges, added a sentiment and a little baker’s twine hanger, and my stocking was ready to be the perfect little embellishment for this card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Wee Details:

  • Stamps:  Tiny Tags, Christmas Collage, Four the Holidays
  • Paper:  WW, Garden Green, Real Red, Garden Green Patterns DP
  • Ink:  Real Red, Garden Green
  • Acc:  Scallop Squares Duo, Stocking Punch, Bakers Twine, Dimensionals, Dauber

I'm so sorry about your emergency but I'm glad all is well now. I pondered over the stocking punch and passed on it, but it sure does make a cute and simple card! I don't comment every day either, but as you said.......I'm checking out your blog every day, and loving all these precious pics of Cassidy :)

This is a perfect example of CAS. The simple sweetness of it perfectly captures what Christmas should be (at least the gift-giving part of Christmas!)

The card or Cassidy... which is sweeter??? Well, Cassidy I think, but the card is darling, too! LOVE the twine for the stocking "hanger!"

Glad John is home and getting better!

I have the Christmas Collage stamp and have not used it....I didn't realize it was so BIG. What a clever way to get a background. That's what I love about your blog..I always come away learning something!
