I have been in crafting heaven here the last couple of days (but my craft room is a disaster!!!)! I saw these adorable altered Altoids tins on Cathe Holden’s blog, Just Something I Made, and wanted to recreate one for a gift exchange. Actually, the blog post was about making your own bottle brush trees, which really excited me, but that will have to wait a while! Anyway, here is my first attempt:
My vintage “stash” grows larger & larger, so I thought I had better try to use some of it! The lid features an old postcard I printed on the computer, which I glittered up with some “snow” and a little snowflake:
This side features a background of some music paper from a little Melissa Frances 6x6 pad, a deer from a Crafty Secrets journaling pad, and a little tree from a craft store:
I added some batting for snow, glittered it all up, then made a banner using a Sweet & Sassy Christmas sentiment and anchored it with a SU star punched from gold glimmer paper.
Here are the front & back….I just LOVE the collage effect on the back! The words were stamped in Basic Gray and Smoky Slate, and I just looked through all my Christmas sets and mixed them all up!
I covered the side with a piece of washi tape I got last Christmas….it covers it nicely without adding the bulk of ribbon.

Unlike some parts of the country which are suffering through really cold temps, it was overcast but fairly mild here yesterday and we took a long walk down a back road; there used to be a bridge you could drive over, but the township closed it and it is open to foot traffic only. Cassidy is all about water, rocks and bridges, so she enjoyed it!
It would be pretty with snow, but too warm for that!

Oh my gosh, LeAnne! This is adorable! I will check out the bottle brush tutorial. I have scads of them...seriously, a small rubbermaid container full, but it sounds intriguing!
On my "to-do" list? I have some very cute vintage Christmas tags/stickers I want to scan and preserve...love the vintage!

Cute! I've got a load of Altoids boxes I need to use up- definitely will be referring back to this when I finally get to them. Isn't this weather the weirdest? We're supposed to be in the mid-70's tomorrow w/ rain, 34 on Sun with freezing rain, back to 60's on Mon. Pneumoniaville!
