PPA98 Open Sea

I made a quick card for DH for Father’s Day---I had all my other cards made, then realized I forgot him! Ooops….well, technically he’s not my father, but you know….! Anyway, the sketch from Pals Paper Arts was perfect for the ship image from The Open Sea. Here’s the sketch:

And here’s the card:

There is nowhere my hubby would rather be than on his sailboat….or any sailboat, for that matter! So I was quite happy to see this stamp set in the mini catalog! I was a little tired of using the companion DP so I pulled out some Newsprint paper and just used vanilla and black as my colors:

I made a sailor’s knot based on Barbara’s tutorial here; and Word Play made the perfect inside sentiment:

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge---and a non-Father’s Day card! Thanks for visiting!

(Not too happy---her bottom was sliding out of the back of the rocker!!!!)

  • Stamps: The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Newsprint
  • Ink: Basic Black
  • Acc: Circle Punches, Hemp Twine (ret), brads, dimensionals, TH Brick Embossing Folder

This is stunning! Black/white and black/vanilla are really become two of my favorite color combinations; they just look so elegant and make such beautiful cards when paired together.

This is the most beautiful card you've made, not sure I guy wants to hear that, but....
BTW, all of your cards are beautiful, this one just has something extra!

Here's another vote for that elegant color combination. It seems that you have made THE perfect card for your DH. Hope he has a great day and gets to go sailing, after he opens your card, of course :) That rocking chair wasn't smooth sailing for Cassidy, though, LOL!

Hi LeAnne, I am in the Delhi NY boy is it beautiful here. I forget how beautiful the hill are here.
Your card is wonderful and DGD is so adorable.
I have phone and inter net now but last night I didn't. That was strange. We were in Andes. What a fun town but no phone reception. Have you been there?
Great card today!!!

Poor little Cassidy - you realize she'll be in therapy for 30 yrs because of that chair - giggle - NOT

My husband is color blind and he loves the sea but I never thought about doing a black and white/vanilla combo for him. Thanks for the inspiration.
