PP624 A Little Birdie

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Jaydee hosting our latest Clean-and-Simple challenge!  Check it out:

I have tons of bird stamps, but most of them are "serious" bird stamps and I wanted a more "whimsical" bird for my card today!  I sort of hit a happy medium; I used a "semi-serious" diecut bird, coloring it to resemble a Carolina wren, and "sort-of whimsical" sentiment from Pure Innocence.  So here we go:

The bird was diecut from Sahara Sand cardstock and watercolored and perched on a Soft Suede branch:

I found some DSP in my stash that looked like little birdie foot prints, so I used the Stitched With Whimsy die on it and mounted it on a card base of Crumb Cake as well.  I heat embossed the sentiment on a Basic Black banner:

And since I LOST the stamp that said "Happy Bird-Day" in the abyss of my stamp room, I resorted to a computer-generated sentiment to adhere on the inside!

I am also going to enter this at the Seize the Birthday challenge--Winged Things!

I really wish I could have come up with a more whimsical image for my creation today, but sometimes you've just got to go with what you have! I hope you can find something to play with for our "Happy Bird-Day CAS" challenge and share it with us at the Players this week too!  Be sure to see what the DT came up with...they'll make you smile!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS 569 Jingle All the Way

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Off to another basketball game to watch Cassidy!  I do have a little Christmas card to share; this turned out totally different than what I envisioned when I began!  Does that ever happen to you?  Anyway, it uses the FMS sketch as well as the Jingle Belles theme of bells!

And here we go:

I began with a Basic White card base and some retired Classic Christmas DSP, stamping my sentiment from Stamplorations in Evening Evergreen.  The bell was stamped in Silver Encore ink on Champage foil cardstock, and heat-embossed with silver embossing powder.  I didn't notice until I photographed it that part of the embossed area on the bell is missing!  Drat!

I had stamped some greenery to tuck under the bell but didn't like how it looked, so I opted for some silver Metallic ribbon and that looked better.  The "all the way" is from the retired Jingle Jingle Jingle, and it was also heat-embossed in silver; I wanted the strip to be a little narrower, so I cut out the "y"and adhered it on that way!

I used a cute sentiment from Snowman Magic for the inside!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CASC&S502 Sunny Splash Birthday

Happy Friday, everyone! I have an uber-simple one-layer card today, a fun birthday card in a summer theme, designed to chase away the rainy-weather blues we're having right now!  It uses the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch:

I got this Summer Splash set a while ago but hadn't inked it up yet!  So here we go:

I stamped the bathing suits and speckles in Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, and Poppy Parade, and the sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells, in Tahitian Tide:

I did round the corners and I added some shimmery sequins for fun!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Collage Sympathy

Happy Thursday, peeps.  Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week and I felt the need to do some collage stamping, which I haven't done for a while!  I pulled out an Artistic Outpost stamp that hasn't seen very much ink, and some linen-printed CTMH paper and went to work:

The linen paper had a gray tone to it, so I randomly stamped all the background images from Birds of a Feather in Smoky Slate ink, then added the bird and the sentiment (Special Moments) in Versafine Onyx.  For fun, I added some Stitchery "bird tracks" along the edge in Smoky Slate and Basic Gray and a row of hearts diecut from Basic Black cardstock along the top.

It all went on a card base of Papertrey's Soft Stone cardstock.  I really wanted to add some ribbon or bling, but the recipient is kind of a plain-and-simple gal, so I left it as it was.  I added a Bible verse to the inside and it's ready to mail.  Thanks for popping in today..enjoy it and be blessed!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.  And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.  Romans 8:28-30

AHSC508 FLoral Thanks

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am using these pretty Regency Park papers again...hope you're not tired of them!  I needed a thank you card so I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week:

And here we go:

I may try another one again; the skewed panels make me feel a bit tipsy, but I wasn't going to toss it after diecutting those borders, LOL!  I mounted a piece of the DSP on a Basic White card, added some Petal Pink and Basic White diecut borders, a retired doily and some fussy-cut flowers:

A few snippets of Glittered Organdy Ribbon added some shimmer, and a sentiment from Best Family Ever finished it off:

This will get popped in the mail real soon!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy is playing rec basketball; this was her second game.  It's really hard to get a picture, they move on the court so quickly!

Her team won both games they're played and although Cassidy didn't make any baskets for this game, she did on her first game!  I am not quite sure where she gets her athletic ability; it's certainly not from my side of the family, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Club Treats

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  My hostesses and I had a fun time on Sunday at my appreciation lunch, and I even had a helper!  Cassidy told me she wanted to go home with me after church and when I told her I had stampers coming and I was going to put her to work, she said okay!  I can't show you all the projects we made, but I will show you a couple of treat things we stamped; one at the luncheon, and one at my latest club!  We made this one at club; it uses the little mini treat boxes that were on the Clearance Rack along with some Country Floral Lane bundle goodies:

Images were stamped in Sweet Sorbet and Mint Macaron and punched with the punch; a layer of Petal Pink helped tie everything together.  The back featured Country Gingham DSP in Mint Macaron, a heart in Petal Pink and a little "sweet" from Conversation Bubbles:

And the sweet treat inside was M&Ms!!!

We made this chocolate bar cover at the hostess party; these are no-sugar bars from Russell Stover, but any chocolate bar would work!  We stamped a little design from the On the Farm on a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock to wrap around the bar, then added some Dandy Designs DSP.

The cow was diecut from A Day at the Farm DSP and the "yum" is from Conversation Bubbles as well.

The girls actually used the burlap ribbon from the Country Floral Lane bundle for their ribbon (when you pull on it, the candy bar comes up) but I ran out for my sample!  Tying the ribbon at the top keeps the bar in place within the sleeve until you're ready to pull it out.

Cassidy actually stamped both projects we made, but we can't share the other one for a wee bit (wink wink).  She is quite absorbed in making her candy sleeve here:

After all my guests went home, she went back into the craft room and made another card for her friend:

I don't think that dirt bike stamp was ever inked up, glad it got some use!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP623 Pretty Hello

Hi stampers!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Claire as our hostess!  She has a brilliant color challenge for us, and I will admit that it WAS a challenge for me!  Here is her color palette:

Shades of purple are always a challenge for me!  I began by choosing some DSP in the challenge colors, but I used all the same patterns so they would coordinate a bit.  I borrowed a sketch from Mary Fish

and off I went:

This little floral pattern is my favorite from the DSPs this year!  I did some layering, added a Basic White tag on which I stamped some florals from Simply Fabulous, popping up the largest Orchid Oasis one:

and then embellished my tag with some Glittered Organdy ribbon and some baker's twine from my stash. I diecut a "hello" from a retired die, mounting the cardstock on an adhesive sheet so it would really stand out.  Of course, running it through my Big Shot made those little holes on the die really pop out, but I guess you could call it a decoration!  It matched the matte dots I added, I guess!

I hope you'll accept this challenge and play with our colors this week!  Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see all the lovely creations our DT has come up with!  Thanks so much for popping by, enjoy your day and be blessed!
