Odds and Ends

DSCF4637

Just a couple things to share with you today; this card is my thank you card to my in-laws for taking us on their boat last weekend:

DSCF4639

Nothing spectacular; the image is CHF's July Stamp of the Month, Harbor Scene, which I watercolored rather poorly; I should have left some white on the boat.  It is stamped in Stazon on watercolor paper and colored with reinkers.  The sentiment is from Flourishes' Violets; the bird image and the inside sentiment are from Crafty Secret's Seaside.  Bashful Blue and Real Red finish the nautical theme.DSCF4638

This one is a CASE of this card by Tami Mayberry; this is for my nephew's birthday, which was yesterday!  Ooops!  I don't know why I have not noticed her creations before this; she has a wonderful CAS style!   The images are from PTI's Star Prints; I just love this set and they fit the SU star punch so nicely!  It also uses the colors of Old Olive, Real Red and Basic Black, which I thought were the SCS challenge colors today----NOT!

DSCF4640

I desperately "need" a light tent, as these colors just aren't true despite my adjustments!  This is a CAS card, as most 18-year-old young men are only interested on what's INSIDE the card, right?  Thanks for visiting today!

Flippin' Out

DSCF4622

Here's a quick CAS card for challenge #24 at SCS today: to use turquoise, yellow and orange to make a summer card.  Since flip flops remind me of summer, I made a flip flop card!  Sentiment is from Impressions Obsession; images are from SU's Holiday Blitz; ribbons are from SU (some retired).  I also used the Clean & Simple Fall to Layout #50.  Here's the whole shebang:

Hi Everyone!

Just to let you know I am back from Tilghman's Island, MD, where we went on a mini boating vacation; I feel like I have been away forever! I am still rocking (for those of you who have ever been on a boat trip, you'll know what I mean!). Hopefully I will have a new project to share later today, as we start VBS this week too! AND I'll explain that little seagull over there on the side of my blog! Later, alligator!

Couldn't Do Without You

Just a quick little card, trying to use some new products and sets!!

The background is the new Cornelli Lace wheel, stamped in Crushed Curry; the paper is Razzleberry Lemonade, which I know is old hat to some, but I just got it! I also added a jumbo grommet with some Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon.

My flower is the Flowers 3 diecut, centered with a circle from Circle Circus; sentiment is from Best Wishes & More, which I have neglected!! I also used my neglected spiral punch on the DP! Thanks for visiting today!

More Happy Mail!

I will be away from blogging for a couple days, but hopefully Blogger will cooperate and these posts will arrive at their appointed time!

I received a couple cute cards in the mail last week and would love to share them with you! The first is from Lorraine. She is such an enthusiastic stamper and a real encouragement to me! She is a customer, but more importantly, she is a real friend and an extremely generous person!!! This card is such a reflection of her in its bright cheerfulness:
I just love it! It makes me smile. The next one is from my upline, Pennie.....just for fun, no real reason, she sent me this cutie:

It quacks me up!!! You have to realize that Pennie's group of stampers is called the "Rubber Dubbers"!!! How appropriate! I am loving that ribbon treatment, too!

Thanks for visiting today, I hope everyone is having a happy Thursday!

Color Throwdown #51

CTD51 swatch

Our CTD challenge hostess today is Cathy, and she has chosen So Saffron, Garden Green and Lavender Lace as the colors--they were challenging to me!  CTD is also being sponsored today by a wonderful company, DRS Designs!  They are offering some goodies to one lucky stamper!  So get out your stamps, ink & paper and get to work!  There are a few "rules" that have to be followed, so just check out the CTD blog for all the deets!  Remember that you don't have to use SU colors, just use something closely matching--post your creation on your blog or an online gallery using CTD51 as you keyword, and then go back to the CTD blog and link the exact post through Mr Linky, so we can see them all quickly!

I made my card a little bigger than the standard size today....one of our family's fun activities is to yard sale, and I am always on the lookout for envelopes!  They always seem to come in odd sizes, so sometimes I fit my cards to the envelope.  This one is 4x6":

DSCF4610

It uses the Large Sunflower stamp shown here (L313); and the Get Well Prayer shown here (G476), with Garden Green, Very Vanilla and Lavender Lace cardstocks, as well as some BG DP.  My sunflower has been embossed with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and clear EP, then colored with watercolor crayons; a little tiny bit of MS glitter was added to the center.  I also stamped the sunflower around the Lavender Lace panel, which was cut with the Nesties Label 4 die; a bit of sponging added some dimension.  I added some ribbon accents--I didn't have any Lavender Lace ribbon, so I took some SU white organdy and colored it with my marker!  I also did not have any So Saffron or Garden Green dew drops, so I drew a little "dot" with my markers right on the spot where I wanted the dew drop to go, then added some Crystal Effects and glued on a clear dew drop--tada!!!  Colored dew drops!   Since this card is for my minister's MIL who is going through some cancer treatments, I added this little poem to the inside, which I found in my Daily Bread devotional this week:

DSCF4611

If God sees the sparrow's fall,  Paints the lilies short and tall,  Gives the skies their azure hue,  Will He not then care for you?

Wow, this post has been long, if you're still with me, good for you!  Now here are the links for the other stampers--be sure to check them out!

Thanks for visiting today!

Christmas in July 2009

Yes, it's that time of the year again! I had my 4th annual CIJ Stamp Camp and we made some fun, simple cards! I will not be listing all the ingredients, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

DSCF4612

This card uses Holiday Blitz images; base is Sahara Sand. I believe the layout came from the CAS blog.

DSCF4614

I thought I had gotten this idea from Nicki's blog, but I couldn't find it there, so perhaps if someone remembers, they can let me know. It is very simple but striking! Here is what it looks like on the inside:

Edited to add: It was Leonie's blog! You can see her sample here.

DSCF4615

These images are all stamped in Encore Gold for a rich look.

(Sorry for the bad pix--I am dealing with a sinus headache today and just don't feel like dealing with them!)

DSCF4616 This uses the pinecone image from Autumn Days along with the Soft Holly wheel.

DSCF4613 And last, a non-SU card; these images are from Artistic Outpost. They have wonderful vintage images that I just love!

Be sure to stop back tomorrow as it is Color Throwdown Wednesday! We're changing things up a little, so make sure you "tune in!" TFL!
