IB28 S'mores for a Boy

Happy Thursday, peeps, and welcome back to another Inspired By challenge!  I needed another baby card, another boy one, too and the prompt Laurel had for us today gave me just the colors I needed for this little bruiser...he weighed in at over eleven pounds when he was born!!!

And in case you were wondering about the "s'mores" in the title, here's the prompt:

Now I am not much of a s'mores fan...I know, weird, right?!  I like all the ingredients of these gooey treats, I just don't like them together!!  I love chocolate, I love marshmallows on a campfire, I love graham crackers with some milk, but they're just too sweet all smooshed together!  But these colors are perfect for the wee little critters from I Dig You, don't you think:

The colors of Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso and the retired Creamy Caramel all worked together so well!  I added some Candy Dots and brads for the wheels, and I just happened to find this little corrugated star I had punched for a previous project but never used!  The sentiment is from Nursery Necessities, stamped on a stitched tag die and also embellished with a Candy Dot:

I added a sentiment and stars from the same Nursery Necessities set!!

Finally, the sketch I used is from the past Fall to Layout #79; I flipped the sketch so the truck wouldn't be driving off the edge of my card:

I hope you'll find some sweet summer inspiration from our photo this week!  Be sure to post it over at the Inspired By blog so we can ALL enjoy it!

Just a girl and her dog, out for ride in the jeep.  Cassidy doesn't seem to mind that Eden is sitting on her lap, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!   Enjoy your day and be blessed!

shhhh, LeAnne, I don't like them either! But I loved this photo, and I ADORE how you've been inspired by the shapes, and colors!
If my mom were here, she'd say that kid will be ready for kindergarten next week! Congrats to the family, blessings to his mother!

What a fun & super cute baby card, LeAnne! Love the colors!!! I posted a card yesterday using non traditional colors for a baby boy card too. Sometimes ya just have to think out of the box! LOL The little truck is adorable and I love how you popped up the wheels and added the animals in the back! The polka dot background is just perfect for this as is all the stitching on the panels! Love, love, love! As for the s'mores...I feel the same way! Love all the ingredients but not together...much too sweet for my liking! Your not alone on that one! TFS and enjoy the day! :)

My nephew was 11 pounds too. I think babies like that are less intimidating to hold! I totally agree with the s'mores. I eat them to be polite. Your card is sweet and I'm not saying that to be polite :-) Cassidy and Eden riding in a jeep?

I think they're pretty sweet too. My dad used to spread a little peanut butter on one of the grahms to cut that sweetness! This is one of the cutest abbey cards I've ever seen! That big wheels truck seems the perfect fit for that 11 pounder!!

I love this set!!! It's an oldie but a goodie. It was one of top faves from way back and is still in my stash. You've inspired me to pull it out and play with it again! Your card for Inspired By is fabulous as usual!!!
