Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a bittersweet post today! The long-standing Color Throwdown blog is ending and today is the last post, and the team has asked some of the original members to participate! Our first post was in July of 2008 and I remember the excitement I felt when Tammy asked me to be on the team! I'll share that first card in a moment, but let's see what the CTD Design Team has picked for us this week:
A lovely seasonal palette for sure! Here is another quilted card, similar to the one I made earlier (HERE is the link to the original designer) and I wanted to recreate it using the challenge colors! So here we go:
This quilted card is such a great way to use up some scraps! I used my Taylored Expressions Easy Strips 1/2" dies to cut out some fall patterned paper, then layered it on a piece of Very Vanilla, , added some Quilt Top embossing, then adhered it to a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that had been embossed with a leafy embossing folder:
I did a little faux button and some twine, and then around my Honey Bee sentiment, I added some punched leaves and dotty embellishments:
And a lovely Bible verse for the inside:
Now, for a walk down memory lane; here is the first color challenge CTD had, as well as the card that I created for it:
I still love those colors!! My photography skills were not too good then; in fact, it was pretty funny looking back at some of my posts! We all have learned and honed our skills along the way, haven't we? Anyway, I hope you'll go play with the last Color Throwdown challenge, give the ladies' cards some love and perhaps walk down your CTD memory lane as well! Thanks for popping in! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

So sad that this challenge is ending! Your card is every bit of lovely and I love the colors and the quilted look it gives! Perfect Fall card! So pretty, LeAnne!
LeAnne, I love your quilted card in all these gorgeous colors of Fall! Such a beautiful send off, my friend! [we all had lots to learn about photography when we started!]
I will miss the CTD challenge so much - those photos were always such a wonderful inspiration to use the challenge colors.

Your card is beautiful with the challenge colors! That is so neat you were there at the beginning of the CTD challenge! Your first card is lovely and I, too, still love those colors! And Pretty in Pink is back with us!
So sad that the challenge is ending, I've been playing along with them for years. Love your card for today though, that quilting technique is so pretty! I do know some quilters too so I need to try making one : )
A gorgeous fall card, LeAnne. I'm probably going to CASE it! Too late for Thanksgiving this year but put it in my planning for next year. And the original CTD colors...still some of my favorites!!
A beautiful Fall quilt card, LeAnne! I LOVE these colors!
