GDP253 Times Two

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a couple of cards today, both use the colors from the current Global Design Project challenge:

I happened to see a free digital image offered on the FB page of the Coffee Loving Papercrafters, so I printed it out and was just playing around with one of the images using the challenge colors.  Other than the fact that my Blends bled a wee bit, it turned out pretty good, so I fussy cut it out and made this card:

The green cup was colored with Granny Apple Green Blends; the coral cup was colored with Calypso Coral markers, and the white cup was dotted with a So Saffron Blend.  I fussy cut the words from the sentiment as well and mounted everything on a stitched rectangle embossed with a polka dot embossing folder:

The sketch I used is from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

The second card uses the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP, on which I colored several of the flowers and leaves with Blends; they are outlined in gold embossing, so they're quite easy to color in:

I added some Gold Foil borders, Calypso Coral embossing and Granny Apple Green DSPs; the sentiment is from Seaside Notions:

And this sketch is from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

Thanks so much for popping in today!

I don't think I had shared this on my blog, but a couple of weeks ago I woke up to find my sunflowers pretty much decimated:

Some were bitten off altogether and strewn in the flower bed and yard;

some were just nibbled on:

On my FB page, suggestions were raccoons (my thought), deer and squirrels.  We managed to see the culprit a few days later:

I haven't been filling my feeders because the squirrels clean them out in a day....so the sunflower seeds were the next best thing!  Well, I didn't plant them...they seeded themselves from the same feeders, so I guess I can't complain!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

WOW! These are Digital....they are great. I have seen many that I like, but really don’t know how to use them.

LeAnne, first card: these colors are made for each other... and your sentiment is made for me! Can we talk about those dots?
Second card: I love the color you've added to your paper - such a clever idea! Loving the embossing so much I wish I could see more of it... you'll use it again, I'm sure!
Two very pretty cards... but a very naughty visitor!

Love all the colors on your post today and your designs. Squirrels...cute but so destructive and greedy! Sorry about your beautiful sunflowers.

What a beautiful pair of cards today! I'm especially fond of the cups along with that cute sentiment! I can relate :) The papers and design look so beautiful on the 2nd card and I love the touches of gold too! Sorry about your sunflowers! My neighbor out back planted a small patch of corn with sunflowers this year and that wicked storm that went through last week blew over most of the corn along with a couple of the sunflowers! Here today, gone tomorrow - and life goes on. Your squirrels must be well fed by now! LOL

You had me with the sweet polka dot cup and polka dotty paper! Your floral card is delightful too. Now about that squirrel... naughty little bugger!!

Love those bright coffee cups - such a cheery card! As for your sunflower destroyer - what a minx!! Glad you solved the mystery though.

Like your choice of colours and how you used the sketch. So glad you figured out who the Sunflower destroyer was. Thanks for playing along with us at AHSC.

I absolutely love your first card, the second is pretty as well, but I am a coffee lover, so that coffee card spoke my language! But I just wanted you to know, I love your bio even more. It's so encouraging to see other Jesus lovers professing Him and bringing honor and glory to Him! Have a blessed day!

Ooooh what lovely colours! The coffee sentiment made me chuckle and I love the stack of cups. The second card with all those textures and patterns is fun too. As the vandalisation of the sunflowers, for creatures that look as cute as squirrels, they are total criminals!! Vicky x

Love the "Thinking of You" card. The use of the embossed panel is great to add texture. I love how you fussy cut a flower from the patterned paper to use as an embellishment. Sorry about your sunflowers. Thanks for joining us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
