CASEing Doris

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  I received a pretty card in the mail from my friend Doris, and I thought I would re-create one of my own.  I had this panel of watercolor paper already on my desk; I was playing with the stamp set Flower Patch and my aquapainter, and when I saw Doris's card, I thought it would be a good way to put this little panel to use!  I think it is called a Z-fold:

It's a little tricky to photograph, but here is the card folded:

I stamped the florals in Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and Crushed Curry; the leaves are Pear Pizzazz.  I stamped them on watercolor paper, then just swooshed a wet aquapainter around the edges to draw a wee bit of the ink out.  Some speckles, enamel dots and a sentiment from a fall Paper Pumpkin kit finished it off.  And here's the inside, using the SAB DSP Carried Away and a sentiment from Suite Sentiments:

Basically, you create your card exactly as you would normally, but score at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" and fold the first fold back.  Then decorate as you wish!  My angled panel is Pear Pizzazz, and I also stamped the corners with a crackle stamp from another Paper Pumpkin kit!  And here is Doris's pretty card, outside and in!

You should try this fold--it's fun, easy and adds some interest to your card!

A little hike on Saturday before the cold weather returned!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a blessed day!

I love making Z Fold cards! Your card is beautiful, LeAnne! Love that there is so much to look at on it from the different panels to the pretty flowers! Doris's card is beautiful too in those colors! Both are really pretty cards!! I hope Dana & Cassidy got home from their hike before that crazy weather came Saturday! My hometown of Wrightsville had an EF-1 tornado! I was watching it all unfold on FB with live video and I just kept saying....holy crap! I was scared!

This is a pretty card and I like the layout and fold. Do you prefer the textured side of the watercolor paper or the smooth...I'm assuming yours has both. I use Tim Holtz paper. I haven't used my crackle stamp but I believe I'll be CASEing this too. Your girls look great hiking :-)

What a fun fold, I don't think I've ever made one of these! Love the pretty fresh colors on the first one and the lovely spring colors on the second. My hubby has been itching to get back to the park for hiking and photos! Looks like your girls had wonderful weather for it!
