Mojo Monday 422—Wish I Had Some Mojo

DSCF2734

Happy Thursday peeps!  I am moving in slow motion today, and I have misplaced my mojo…not sure where it went, but hopefully it will return.  I tried to make a card for the Mojo Monday sketch:

and ended up with two, neither of which really float my boat.  My first one was an attempt to use some of the gorgeous papers in the Home for Christmas DSP pack…not even a bit of stamping on the front of this card at all:

It’s a little bit busy, but better than the second card, which uses Winter Wishes:

I finally figured out what it wrong with it, after looking at the photo; the Basic Gray ink is just too light for the watercoloring on the sled.  The skate looks okay because the coloring is lighter than the gray, but the brown overpowers the gray.  It’s sort of like wearing dark nylons with white shoes….a definite no-no!  But since it’s already assembled, it’s going to stay that way.  But I’ll know better next time!  I did like stamping on some twill ribbon I snagged at a yardsale:

And I do like the ice skate!

Thanks for popping in!

A few more shots from our little outing earlier this week…love the shadows!

I think sleds are hard to color but it looks great! Love the pictures.
We just got home 33 hours on the train and I still feel like I am moving. It was great to see the kids.

Hi LeAnne, I actually like both cards but I think you are right on your sled. I think just stamping the sled and leaving uncolored would have been nice. Love the stamped on ribbon and the first card with NO stamping! TFS your thoughts... Barb

Both cards are beautiful, on the first one, I love that paper combined with the beautiful poinsettia and the second one, maybe a lighter color for the wood on the sled would've look softer?
Love the shadow pictures, how fun.

Shadows are so much fun aren't they?
I do love the papers in your first card. I do like the second card too. Now that you point it out I think I agree with you about the sled.
I'd say your mojo is still there though. Mine is definitely gone these days and my creations are not like these with it gone;)
