PPA165 Silly Halloween

DSCF6846

Howdy, peeps!  Thank goodness it’s Friday!  Wow, it was so chilly yesterday here in SE PA, I wore a sweatshirt almost all day!  Can you say “refreshing”?!  Loved it!  It felt like fall, and my new orange and black glitter from the holiday mini was calling my name, so I made a silly Halloween card:

LeAnne Pugliese PPA165 Papaya Collage Halloween

I was really just sort of experimenting with my glitter, having fun with it!  First, let me tell you…don’t let the price of it throw you off; these are fairly good size jars of glitter,  so I think you get a lot for your buck!  You’ll be able to do lots of Halloween glittering with these!  I used an Adhesive Sheet adhered to a circle of Basic Black for my circular background.  I adhered my Smoky Gray embossed piece to it first, then simply sprinkled the black glitter on top!  Easy…the adhesive sheet provides a nice even surface to which the glitter can stick!  Then of course, I HAD to use the orange, so I ran a few lines of Sticky Strip across the panels and sprinkled them with the orange glitter!  Wheeee!  I glittered up the pumpkin and the bird’s hat too!  Don’t look too hard at my sewing.  I just had my machine fixed (I dropped it, remember?) and I am getting used to the new tension.  I’ll have to practice on that!  Here’s a closeup:

I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch from this week, but I flipped the sketch so my bird would be looking inward:

So, it’s not the most elegant card out there, but like I said, I was having fun with that glitter!  And this is the way I store my glitter….in Gerber baby food containers:

I know this isn’t a very good picture, but you get the idea.  The glitter fits in it perfectly, it sits neatly in my drawer and the glitter is all contained inside the container. If you don’t have any babies, just go buy some baby food applesauce and eat it yourself…it’s worth it to have these little containers! I use them ALL THE TIME in my craft room!  Or maybe you know someone who has a baby…that would work, too!
My shared card today is from my friend Linda:

This beauty was embossed on glossy paper, then ink was brayered over it….such a cool technique, and I love the little gem on the sentiment!  Linda has been a faithful reader and has given me ideas on how to keep Cassidy occupied, entertained and growing!  Thanks, Linda!

This is what happens when you leave Grampy alone with Cassidy’s mega blocks:

It was chilly here too. Jeans and a cardigan were necessary for my walks with lady. It was a nice change though because it has been so hot! Wonderful card and what a cool robot!!

I just love the way you inserted the white floral image inside of the script background! Pretty cards, and what a rocking robot too!

LeAnne, I have an intense aversion to glitter, but I love, love, love this card! What a clever use for that Papaya Collage bird (he fits perfectly in a Halloween card). I also love how you flipped the sketch. Awesome card! Thanks for playing with The Pals Paper Arts.

Love your card- fun hat, crow/raven (or close enough), glittery strips and black moon, Halloween...what's not to love. Of course, after my little Halloween spending spree last summer, I'm sure that comes as a HUGE surprise to you. LOL! Linda's card is lovely- thanks for sharing. And kudos to John- great MegaBloxbot! :)

I don't think your card is silly at all! When I saw the bird and the Halloween theme, I immediately thought of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven". Quoth the Raven "Happy Halloween!" Thanks for playing at Pals Paper Arts.
