Ah, Susan’s Simplicity challenge yesterday was to make a one-layer card….something I have not done in a while….using a masked background technique. Since the man in brown delivered some NEW SU goodies, including my much-awaited Marina Mist (love my blues), AND my beautiful new free stamp set, Because I Care, I had to break them out!
I actually used three new colors on this card; the mask, which was cut with a Labels One nestability, was sponged with Crumb Cake and Marina Mist. The flower was stamped with Marina Mist and a Garden Green marker; and the sentiment was stamped with Early Expresso. I love this technique---easy and impressive! Can’t wait to play some more!!!

I love the blues too, and this one is gorgeous the way you've used it! I love that big beautiful flower - it reminds me of the ones my pop-pop used to grow when I was a little girl. I was fascinated with their rich, purply-blue color and especially their gigantic size! Thanks for the memories:)
