RRCB228 Yarny Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps! A quick card today that uses the sketch from Retro Rubber:

We have a little craft group that meets each week at our church; some of us knit, some cross-stitch, some make cards and some crochet!  One of the crocheters has a birthday coming up and I made her a card using the yarn skein from Hand Knit (2010) as well as a sentiment from Here's a Card (2019):

These 12"x12" papers from Echo Park called I'd Rather Be Crafting were bright and cheerful, so I created my layers and mounted them on a retired Soft Sky card base.  The yarn was stamped in Calypso Coral and colored in with a Flirty Flamingo Blend.  I added a Flirty Flamingo circular mat as well as a Soft Sky mat, diecut with a Zigzag Stitched circle die from Sissix:

A wee little baker's twine bow finished it off.  I stamped a punny sentiment on the inside, along with the little knit garment from the same set:

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Inspire.Create#165

Happy Tuesday, stamping friends! I sometimes forget about some of the pretty papers that are in the regular catalog, when we are in the thralls of looking at new stuff to come!  That's the case for these pretty ginghams, which will be retiring soon!  I chose to use some of the Blueberry Bushel ones and the sketch from Inspire.Create:

So many fun elements and layers!  So here we go:

I used the Timeless Arrangements bundle, which sadly, is also retiring, for my floral image, diecuts and sentiment.  The background was embossed with the Leaf Fall embossing folder and the horizontal diecut was from Everyday Details dies:

I did a wee bit of stamping on the inside as well:

This is such a pretty blue...I must use it more!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy and be blessed!

AHSC572 Moody Mauve Birthday

Happy Monday, all! Hope you had a good weekend!  Will you be watching the eclipse?  Not me! I am sure I'll see plenty of news coverage, and it isn't really in my area anyway!

It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch and I had fun making this one!  Here's the sketch:

I haven't used Moody Mauve in a while, so I pulled out some Poetic Expressions DSP along with some Moody Mauve cardstock and here's what I came up with:

I diecut an oval from the DSP and matted it with a scallop, then adhered it to a piece of Moody Mauve embossed with the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder. My "greenery" is composed of diecuts from the Stippled Roses dies, and this time I added some of the floral diecuts (they're little sleepers in this set, easy to miss!) in Basic White and retired Merry Merlot. I had a hard time adding a bow, so I added a wee bit of crinkled white seam binding beneath each flower:

On the outside, I added a sentiment from Charming Sentiments:

and another one on the inside, along with some more diecut flowers:

This is such a fun sketch, and the design team has some fun creations too!  You can see all of them on the AHSC blog on Wednesday! Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP684 Count Your Rainbows

Happy Sunday, all!  Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun theme challenge:

I also love using these Impression Obsession rain boot die cuts, and as I was going through my older stamps, I came across this Inkadinkado Kid Quotes stamp set and it seemed perfect for my little notecard:

My inspiration came from Inspired By for this week:

If you look closely, the center umbrella is actually colored like a watermelon! I couldn't make that work on my boots, but I did use sequins in the same colors to accent my little sentiment!

I added a layer of embossing, created by the Falling Hearts embossing folder.  I didn't put a sentiment on the inside...I'll save this for a "rainy day" occasion and add one then!  And I am also going to enter this at the Simply Clean & Simple challenge where they're looking for weather-related cards!

The theme is such an open-wide one---check out what all the design team players did at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!  Can't wait to see it!  Thanks for popping in and enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS630 Hello Friend

Happy Friday, everyone! I've been lacking my stamping mojo and today's card certainly shows it! I had an image in my mind, but it just didn't quite translate to my card.  However, you know how it goes...you invest time and materials and you just feel like you need to see it through! It uses the FMS sketch as well as the yummy color inspiration from Just Add Ink:

My idea was to use watercolor swatches for the three panels, then stamp a flower on top, but my colors turned a bit muddy, but here goes anyway:

The top panel is SU's watercolor paper and the inks I used for the panels were Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  The flowers were stamped in Versafine Black, then inked with Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive.  I blended them a little bit with an aquapainter to fill them in.

I mounted the panel on a card of Soft Sea Foam, and I added some diecut leaves from the Stippled Roses dies to create a bit of an interest in the background.

My final touch was some sequins from my stash! I might try this again with different colors for the flowers!  Not the most attractive card ever, but I have it in mind for a friend who's a little bit down!  Thanks for popping in today!

I heard that our area had an earthquake earlier this morning, in fact it was centered only a few miles from where we used to live in New Jersey!  I didn't feel a thing, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC571 Thanks for Everything

Happy Wednesday, all!  Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge and here it is:

I needed a special thank you card for one of my stampers who is always so generous and kind!  I am trying to use up some of the beautiful designer papers that will be retiring soon, so I pulled out some Inked Botanicals along with the Color and Contour stamps and dies and went to work:

I am using some colors from the Color Dare challenge choosing yellow and light teal as my colors:

The florals are stamped in Lost Lagoon, and I stamped off the "filler" part of the flower, then added some Lemon Lolly speckles as well as some yellow mat dots for fun. I used some retired yellow and white baker's twine to added a little more interest:

My sentiment was also stamped in Lost Lagoon, and I layered different patterns of DSP on a base of Lost Lagoon that was embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder.  I did sponge some white ink on the embossing for a lighter look:

I like this fresh color combo!  And I love the sketch too!  I hope you'll play along with us...there are endless variations to it, and it may be a great way to use up some of those little scraps we all have!  Be sure to share your creation with us at Atlantic Hearts!

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

GDP439 Ice Cream Birthday

Happy (rainy) Monday, peeps, happy April! Hope you had a nice weekend! I spent some time with family, John stayed home with a bad cold!  Anyway, since I already had all these fun papers on my desk from my card for yesterday, I decided to make another card for our pastor's daughter, whose birthday is also coming up soon!  So here we go:

I used the same papers, but chose the retired Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and matching builder punch to build a fun sweet treat for her card, and it is on a wobbler mechanism, so when she gets her card, the ice cream will wobble!

Just stamped a simple sentiment from the same set on the inside:

I am entering this at the Global Design Project challenge this week, as they are looking for sweet treats!

And we had a chance to see this little sweet treat Coby yesterday too!

Cassidy sprained her ankle on Friday so she was on crutches, but it didn't stop her from cuddling her little cousin, even if he did look a wee bit grumpy!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!
