PP544 Signs of Summer

Hi stampers!  It's Sunday and time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Ann is our hostess and here's her theme for us this week:

I was enamored by that cute little watermelon up in the corner, and the In Colors of Positively Pink and Just Jade seemed to fit perfectly!  So here we go with my CAS creation:

I simply cut the "watermelon" slice with dies from the Layering Circles dies, and stamped the "seeds" with the ice cream drip stamp from Sweet Ice Cream!  I layered it on a Basic White panel that I embossed with the Stitched With Whimsy dies.  I added a sentiment from Welcoming Window, then punched out the corners with the Detailed Trio punch and mounted it on a 4 1/4" square card base of Positively Pink:

I used the sketch from Fab Friday as my layout:
There are so many possibilities with Ann's challenge....summer will soon be upon us in the US and I am sure you can find some inspiration for your stamping!  Be sure to check the Paper Players blog to see what the DT created, and share yours with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just two dogs checkin' out the neighborhood!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Thanks, Friend

Here's another CAS card using some fun DSP banners and the Biggest Wish set!  Check it out:

I used Bumblebee for the "thanks" and stamped the friend directly over it....the DSP strips were snipped into banners and I added some black & white baker's twine:

And just for fun, I added a little blackbird from Banner Year!

For my inspiration, I used the "Bee Inspired" Inspiration Board from Double D Challenges:

Since I didn't have any current SU bee stamps, I chose to use the strips as my inspiration!  Thanks for visiting today!

My niece recently got her third little Scottie dog...a white one this time!  I call them the "oreo pups"!!

CAS Christmas Silhouette

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! I have a clean-and-simple Christmas card for you today; it uses the Freshly Made Sketches sketch and the Christmas Kickstart theme challenge of stockings!

I pulled out an old Cornish Heritage Farms silhouette of three little boys sneaking down the stairway, stockings in hand, and another CHF set supplied the sentiment:

I used some plaid background paper; stamped the little boys in Memento Black, and added a couple of pale gray banners and some enamel dots!

Simple and easy! Thanks for popping in today!

TTT116 Anniversary Bird

Hello again, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge....here is our grid for this week from team X!

John's piano teacher is celebrating her 20th anniversary, and if I had really put some thought into this card, I would have used some musical images in here somewhere!  But instead I used the bottom row of heart, bird and ribbon:

Can you tell I love this You're A Peach DSP?  I realize I have used it several times in my last few posts!!  The little striped piece was left over from this card, and I couldn't let it go to waste!  I stamped the bird from Free as a Bird in Stazon, watercolored it in and added it to a diecut heart.  The sentiment is from Hand Penned Petals and diecut with a Tailor Made Tag die and embellished with some Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the retired Number of Years set and some "greenery" from the Free as a Bird set!  And it's in the mail!

We hope you'll play along with our grid this week at Tic Tac Toe!!!  Be sure to share your creation with us at our blog!  Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

IB177 Shred the Cake

Hi there, everyone!  Thursday's here and with it comes a new Inspired By challenge...I love that it's a masculine one:

I must be really out of the loop because I have no idea what "shred the cake" means....must be a skateboarding term!  Here is our optional sketch, too, which I sort of used:

I have this "retro" SU skateboarder image, so I used my Stamparatus to stamp it on some Smoky Slate cardstock, and here's what I ended up with:

I cut the stamped panel into three panels, mounted it on a Basic White base, then added some enamel dots to pull in some color reflected in the skateboard on the wall:

I found some retired Taken with Teal cardstock and created a card base, then used a die from Stitched Leaves to create some interest at the bottom, and added a Real Red Stitched Nested Label as a background to this cool "celebrate" image that I got from a sweet friend!

I used the bold sentiments from Biggest Wish to stamp the inside:

I like how this turned out ! It's always a challenge to create masculine cards, but this one came together quickly!  I hope you can find some inspiration from our fun photo....can't wait to see what you create with it!  Check out what the DT created as well at the Inspired By blog!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Just Some Stamping Fun

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I did some "just for fun" stamping yesterday, playing with some old and new products!  The first one is for the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge as well as the Just Us Girls polka dots challenge:

I pulled out some dotty paper from You're A Peach, and Forever Fern and Best You stamp sets:

I used the new Basic Borders dies to create a mat for the DSP, then stamped the berry images in Calpyso Coral and mounted them on diecut circles from Tasteful Labels:

I used a Tailor Made Tag for the sentiment, adding a little circular "reinforcement" and some perle cotton thread.  I did add some sequins too!

I had this unused digital image lying on my desk from a project from last month and finally finished coloring it in, so I thought I'd make a second card as well.  It uses the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments:

And here we go:

The image was just printed out on some computer paper and colored in with Blends.  I used a Crumb cake base, embossed with the Dots EF.  I then added some layers of DSP in Evening Evergreen and Pear Pizzazz along with a Stitched So Sweetly scallop mat.  The sentiment is from Forever Fern too:

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Sorry, I have no photos...it was a rainy weekend!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP294 All Things Fabulous

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Feels like Monday, doesn't it?  And happy June!!! I got in a little stamping time yesterday and made a card that was totally inspired by this card from Jaimie Barbarczy!  You might know that I don't gravitate towards purple shades, so Fresh Freesia was on the bottom of the In Color totem pole for me.  But her card was so pretty, I decided to give it a go with my own All Things Fabulous, and I used the Global Design Project sketch to get me started:

And here we go:

I stamped my florals in Fresh Freesia and my leaves in Soft Succulent instead of Crumb Cake like Jaimie did.  I used some Fresh Freesia DSP for my panels, and mounted everything on a diecut piece of Basic White that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile EF:

I think this is such a sweet sentiment....it's stamped in Soft Succulent as well:

And I added a sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells on the inside along with a few more little sprigs from the All Things Fabulous set:

I will need to step out of my comfort zone and use this color a little more, it's actually very pretty!  Thanks for popping in today!

John and I took a little walk around our church's cemetery yesterday...there are soldiers from many wars buried there, including the Revolutionary, Civil, Korean and Vietnam.  I didn't see any Gulf War stones, but lots of WWI and WWII as well. When we did cemetery clean-up day, we put American flags on lots of the plots; here's my dad's:

It was quite a sight to see all the flags waving!  I need to plant some flowers soon, too, so his stone doesn't look so bare!   Enjoy your day and be blessed!
