RRCB108 Rainbow Bright

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another Retro Rubber Challenge...this theme seems to be quite popular lately!  So here we go:

Image may contain: text

For my card, I chose to use a set I got around 2016 from Right at Home called Color In Sentiments, along with some MFT flower dies:

I used the same die for each color of flower; I colored the words with SU blends, then mounted it all on a card base embossing with a large polka dot embossing folder.  The last thing I did was to add a little glimmer paper center to each flower for fun!

I love the final effect!  I am also entering it at Festive Friday's challenge this week as well:

#festivefridaychallenge, #fF0031, Earth Day, Rainbow

Be sure to check out what the DT has done at the RRCB blog, and we hope you'll play along too.  Remember that your stamps have to be at least a year old, and tell us the age in your post!  Happy stamping!

Making pancakes is serious business!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TO132 Wedding Card

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday!  A young couple from our church got married over the weekend and I made them a wedding card using the Time Out Challenge for my inspiration:

I still had some of this DSP from last year (can't remember the name--Floral Boutique, thanks Karen!), and I thought it would look lovely with some Blushing Bride accents:

I used some old and new dies for my butterfly and the trim, and a sentiment from Best Birds:

and again, some old and new stamps for the inside:

They are off honeymooning in England, I can't wait to hear about that trip!!!

Saturday was church clean-up day; it started out a little cloudy but the sun came out and warmed everything up!  Cassidy was on wheelbarrow duty:

She probably took more breaks than wheeled the wheelbarrow, if I know her, LOL!

The pastor's kids got in on the action too!  Look at one-year-old Joshua with his little rake!

The team did an AMAZING job....there were lots and lots of leaves to be cleaned up...now we're ready for spring!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP436 Mad for Plaid

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I am the hostess today at the Paper Players, and since yesterday, April 6, was Tartan Day, I decided to make the theme challenge a "Plaid" one!  We'll take checks too...we're not fussy!

I have a few plaid stamps, but I have lots of plaid papers and since I have a busy week ahead, I went quick and easy with some plaid papers from a couple years ago, and a simple sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
So here we go:

This plaid looked so Scottish to me, I just had to use a little Scottie dog diecut, along with a collar from Happy Tails:

Isn't he cute?  I added a label stamp from Altenew; it's heat-embossed, but you can't tell it from the photo:

Finally, I added a little Paper Pumpkin sentiment and polka-dotted doodad on the inside:

I love how simple this is, but eye-catching!  I hope you'll play along with our plaid/check challenge!  Check out what the design team has done this week:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Sad Card Today

Hi everyone!  Today, I am sharing probably one of the saddest cards I have ever made; my cousin's 8-year-old grandson died yesterday after discovering he had an extremely aggressive case of a rare cancer.  Sadly, I have never even met my cousin or any of his family....he lives several states away and as siblings, my mother and his father were never close.  That does not mean the pain is any less....I just can't imagine their loss.  I know they are a very closely-knit family and they will rely on each other, friends and the Lord to get them through.  I recently got these cute vintage-style stamps from 100 Proof Press, and since Owen had just gotten a little puppy, I thought they were ideal for a sympathy card for the family:

I used the black & white challenge from Inspire.Create, and the sketch challenge from Case This Sketch:

I used some plaid papers from My Mind's Eye's Winterberry line and stamped my images and sentiment in Stazon:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Papertrey along with another little puppy image:

Hug your family members today....you never know what the day will bring!  Be blessed, my friends.

IB66 Speckled Eggs

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Hope your week is going well....I haven't felt very crafty lately, my craft room has been a disaster so hopefully in cleaning it up I might find my mojo!  Today is Inspired By day, and I have to admit that this is one of my favorite challenge photos ever.  I nudged my mojo along enough to make this:

And here is Laurel's prompt:

Aren't they pretty?  And when I saw this photo, I knew just what I wanted to use!  I had this SU stamp Soft as a Feather many years ago and sold it....and then regretted it!  I found it again on ebay a while back and this is the first time I have "re-used" it!  I began by painting a page from an old book with some white craft paint, then stamping the nest on it with Early Espresso ink.  I stamped the eggs from the same set, along with some others from Nature's Walk and colored them with Pool Party Blends, then cut them out and popped them up:

I diecut the book paper with a Spellbinder's die (thanks, Claire) and mounted it on a Pool Party card that I ran through the Woodgrain embossing folder, then sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  (Since this folder really weakens the fibers of the paper, I adhered a piece of cardstock to the inside left side of the card to stabilize it.)  Finally, I added a linen thread bow, some tiny punched hearts, and stamped a sentiment and some "stitch" lines, both from Close to My Heart sets:

I left the inside blank; it might be an encouragement card, a sympathy card or an Easter card....I haven't decided yet!  I hope you'll play along with our pretty challenge this week at Inspired By too!

I saw directions to make a little Easter basket in the latest BH&G, so I thought I would try it out with Cassidy....and it was a bust!  It was a little too fussy for her, although she really gave it a good try!

She was relieved when I told her she didn't have to finish it, LOL! (Grammy even thought it was a challenge, LOL!)

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

LRW490 Hop To It

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Another quick little card today; I recently won a prize from my friend and PP teammate Claire, who makes the most wonderful cards and is the epitome of a Southern belle!  She is such a sweetheart!  Anyway, one of the prizes was a cute Easter stamp set, so I thought I would just play around with one of my favorite images from the set, a little row of bunnies.  The Little Red Wagon challenge this week is to use something that hops, so I couldn't wait to try these little bun-buns out!

I had some Naturals White cardstock and stamped my bunnies with Stazon ink, and loosely watercolored them. I was really just playing around (that cardstock is not really a good choice with watercolors....just to let you know), but they turned out pretty cute, so I decided to make it into a simple card:

I used Crumb Cake and Flirty Flamingo for their bodies, ears and noses, so after die-cutting the panel, I mounted it on a Flirty Flamingo card base I already had in my stash.  I found some matching polka dot paper and made a banner and sentiment, and it was done  After mounting it, I decided to add some Soft Sky "sky", which I wish I hadn't done, because, as I said, this particular paper just absorbs the water and it was hard to get the effect I was looking for:

But they're still cute!  Shimmery White or Watercolor paper would have been a better bet, but as I said, I was just experimenting!  Happy (or should I say "hoppy"!) you stopped by today!

No Cassidy pix today, but John found this little female downy woodpecker on our patio; she must have hit the window and was a wee bit stunned; I actually touched her a little bit (those feathers are so soft) which I am sure I shouldn't have done, but in a few minutes, she composed herself and flew off:

And my sister in SC recently sent me this photo of an albino squirrel she saw on a bike ride:

and I can assure you that she did not get close enough to pet this little guy!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

We Three Stars

Happy Monday, peeps!  And happy April!  I have another quick and easy card today!  I need to bulk up my Christmas card stash, and the Jingle Belles challenge this week is "We Three Kings"...and I can never pass up things in threes!  So here we go:

I chose a trio of Christmas prints from Authentique's Nostalgia collection, and stamped three country stars in Crumb Cake, then embellished them with some enamel dots:

A sentiment from the same set (Market Street Stamps' Country Christmas, sadly retired) was stamped in Real Red and diecut with a Rectangle Stitched die:

It was all mounted on a Real Red card base....easy and cute!  Thanks for popping in today!

Another shot from last weekend:

Eden couldn't wait to jump in the stream.....

but it was a wee bit colder than she expected....she made a quick retreat!  Brrrr!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
