PP404 Good Friends

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a great challenge--I don't think we've ever had one with this theme:

I have had this Cornish Heritage Farms set called Weighty Matters for a long, long time and maybe have used this image only once or twice; if you've ever struggled with your weight, you can identify with this gal's shock and distress:

I stamped her and her "helpful" friend on a piece of Confetti Cream and lightly colored everything in with some Blends, then added a sentiment from the same set:

The background papers are from my generous friend Teri, so I don't know the maker, but I thought the numbers might suggest the numbers on the scale, LOL!  I used the leftover piece for the inside, adding a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet

I hope this brings a chuckle to you, and that you'll share your humorous creation with us at the Players!  We all need to laugh, right?!  Meanwhile, check out what the DT came up with:

Cassidy and Lee decided to play in the creek behind our house, where they discovered a big bed of clay!  They brought up big chunks of it and made quite a mess of each other!

And then they ran under the hose to clean off!  The joys of living in the country!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Joyful Trees

Ah, Saturday and the weekend!  So happy to see it!  Can you handle another Christmas card?  I found several challenges that I could combine, starting with the Fab Friday sketch:

as well as the Jingle Belles Blog Banner Inspired Challenge:

and the City Crafter Challenge is Christmas CAS:

I stamped the tree images from Rooted in Nature in Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz, diecut them out and mounted them on a panel embossed with the Softly Falling EF:

I added a strip of gold glimmer paper and some retired Pear Pizzazz ribbon and finally, a little fussy-cut sentiment.  A little Dazzling Diamond glitter was used to "frost" the trees:

I mounted everything on a Coastal Cabana card!  Another one to add to the stash!

And a few more birthday cards!  This pretty one is from Robyn:

This clever one is from Doris:

and Sandy always sends me fun ones!

Thanks, ladies!

Cassidy made a birthday card for my great-niece using the same thumbprint set, In Print, as I used on Thursday.  This time, she used the fish image and we stamped the "Best Fishes" from Jar of Love:

It's only a wee little thing, 2 1/2" x 4", and she added her own bubbles, water and seaweed with glimmer pens:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS348 and CCT Sticker Christmas

Hey peeps!  I am squeezing in another card today; after I saw Sandy's cute little Christmas card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge of stickers, I knew I wanted to make one too!  I incorporated the FMS sketch into it as well:

So here we go.....an unusual Christmas card in that it is Early Espresso, embossed with a Darice snowflake EF as well!  The stickers are from the Winter Wonderland line by Simple Stories; I adhered them to a piece of Rustic White cardstock and popped them up on dimensionals:

Aren't these images the cutest?  Easy peasy too!

The plaid piece is also a sticker, and I adhered some Tim Holtz Ideology Seasonal stickers on for my sentiment:

Thanks for popping in again today!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Crushing on Curry

Happy Friday, peeps!  I had a bit of a rough day yesterday so I hunkered down in my craft room last night for a bit of stamping therapy!  Neither is stellar but at least I got inky!  They both use Crushed Curry ink, too!  The first is for CAS(E) this Sketch:

I pulled out some stamps that hadn't seen ink for a long time!  A plaid background from Unity (Gurnsey Gingham) and a little thumbprint set from Clearly  Besotted (In Print) seemed like a fun match:

This little kitty is stamped in Crushed Curry and Soft Suede on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used a MFT die and some retired SU burlap ribbon:

He just makes me smile!   My second one is for the Happy Little Stampers challenge of Diecuts as well as the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge for August, which is sunflowers:

I diecut two flowers from some watercolor paper, using a MFT Stitched Flowers die, then watercolored them with Crushed Curry and Soft Suede inks, since I already had them on my desk!  I layered them together, then I added some Old Olive leaves and stem, and mounted them on a Whisper White card that had been embossed with a Lil'Inker Stitched Rectangle die:

The sentiment is from SU's Beautiful Bouquet!  This card was partly inspired by Bonnie's birthday card to me; this picture doesn't do it justice, it is even prettier IRL!

And here's another floral beauty from my friend Linda H:

And this beauty is from my Paper Players teammate Jaydee:

Thank you ladies, for my beautiful cards!  More coming in the next few days!

Cassidy has been saving her money to buy a skateboard, and I thought it might be a good idea to get her one at a yard sale to try out  first!  We hit a fabulous yardsale right around the corner from our house and managed to score a Penny skateboard, two helmets, a boogie board and a plastic toboggan, all for $1 each!!  Look at the look on her face:

So far this is the only way she's been able to ride on it, LOL!

Give her time!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB31 Back to School

Howdy, folks!  Hope your week is going okay!  Laurel has a sweet little Inspired By challenge for us today, but I really am not ready to think about going back to school!!!  But here we go:

We have a sponsor today, A Flair for Buttons!  So be sure to check out the IB blog to find out the details!  This is wee bit busier than I usually do, but it was SO much fun!  I used some Bo Bunny  and older SUpapers; the pencil is from an old Cornish Heritage Farms set called Make the Grade; it was stamped in Memento Black and colored with SU Blends.  The "A Note for You" is from Wood Words, and the alphabet letters are from Papertrey.  And finally, aren't those little buttons COOL!?

And here's our prompt:

No automatic alt text available.

And here are a couple close-ups, just for fun:

The buttons don't have holes in them, they're solid, so I used some Tear 'n Tape to adhere them to the card!  My card was inspired by one I got for my birthday, made by the uber-talented Shawn:

I just love this sketch...I guarantee you will be seeing more of it in the future!  And I'll be sharing more birthday cards from my uber-talented friends in the days to come!  Thanks for popping in today---be sure to share your creation with us at Inspired By....we can't wait to see it!

Cassidy wanted me to make a little pillow for one of the dolls from her doll house; I've been WAITING for a moment like this, to encourage her to learn to sew!  She's still a little young but once she figured out how to use the pedal (training for driver's ed maybe?) she had a little better control!  First we practiced on some scrap fabric:

And then we tackled the little pillow...it's tiny for sure!  She stitched the side seams, turned it inside out, put a couple of cotton balls inside and sewed it shut!  And she picked out the fabric herself!  Hopefully I planted the seed for more sewing projects in the future!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Wood Words Tag

Happy Wednesday, all!  I have a sweet little CAS card today for two challenges!  The first one is CAS on Sunday, which is "Tag It", and the TGIF Challenges is "Repeat After Me"; they are looking for using your stamps repeatedly:

I was totally inspired by Jeanna's card here; I knew I wanted to use Wood Words and I loved that little polka-dotted ribbon!  I went in a bit of a different direction; I created a tag with the floral image, stamping it several times in Lovely Lipstick ink and punching it with the Tag Topper punch:

I added another tag, also from Wood Words; a stamped heart, a DSP heart and a stitched heart from Stitched Labels:

Oh, and it's hard to see, but I tucked a wee little piece of the polka-dotted ribbon behind it all, as well as embossing the mat with the Subtle EF!  Thanks for popping in today!

Mad Libs always brings a chuckle!!
