Mojo Monday 318

DSCF8956

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Wow, what a beautiful day we had here yesterday---made up for that cold beginning of the week!  Cassidy & I were able to play outside a little bit!  Today’s card uses the Mojo Monday sketch 318:

I needed an extra-special birthday card, so I pulled out all the stops:  big honkin’ bow, a faceted button, some rhinestones and even a glimmer brad and some glimmer hearts:

DSCF8955

I had this piece of Daffodil Delight DP sitting on my desk, along with the ribbon, which came on a gift, so I decided to use ‘em up!  I stuck pretty close to the sketch, using the Chalk Talk stamp set and die for my tag, and another piece of Polka Dot Parade DP for my banner.  I added a row of bling to the top of the banner, and glue-dotted a glimmer brad to the center of my button:

I just love the blackboard-effect of this stamp set!

Cassidy discovered a box under my desk that had some styrofoam peanuts in it….oh, what a mess:

It was like staticky snow!  And you can see I was trying to encourage her to clean it up with a dustpan & broom…..which she did, eventually.  And then…..

Out like a light!  Enjoy your day!

Season of Thanks

DSCF8971

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  The Kraft Journal’s Make It Monday challenge this week is “Harvest”.  I recently got this retired SU set called Harvest Home and I was inspired by this card from my friend Tracey, and I thought I would try stamping and coloring on Crumb Cake:

DSCF8969

I dusted off my Copics for this one; I haven’t done anything with them for a while! I used some retired SU papers as well as a scrap from my pile:

DSCF8972

Since we will be spending Thanksgiving with DH’s family this year, I am going to be sending out several cards to my own family members this year, so this will be going to one of my relatives!

One of Cassidy’s favorite things to play with is tape….any kind!  Here, she has decorated her sippy cup with scotch tape, and was further embellishing it with masking tape:

Hmmmm….this tape seems to be sticking to itself……

And when I finally told her “No more tape,”  she insisted she NEEDED it!!!

ColourQ214

DSCF8943

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Brrr, it really felt like November yesterday….I guess we have to face that winter is on its way!  I love these earthy colors that Arielle chose for us this week for the ColourQ challenge:

Just Something I Made just offered a nice Thanksgiving postcard last week and it had most of the challenge colors, so I printed it out and made a vintage-style card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ214 Truly Grateful Vintage Thanksgiving Card

(Thanks to Julie for correcting me on the source of my postcard!!!)  I stamped my background with the wheat sheaf from Truly Grateful and used the woodgrain and woodcut images as well to stamp my panels:

DSCF8945

I also used my trusty 1970 Smith Corona Corsair typewriter to make this little tag which is anchored by a pretty houndstooth brad in Bashful Blue!  The Bible verse from this week’s Word Art Wednesday seemed appropriate for my inside sentiment:

DSCF8947

This also qualifies for Sugar Creek Hollow’s challenge, which is vintage; and Frilly and Funky’s challenge this month is Thanksgiving.

I hope you will find some inspiration from this lovely set of linens, and that you translate it into something crafty!  Share it with us at the ColourQ so we can all enjoy it, and be sure to check out what the designers made as well!

If you’re squeamish about dead animals, don’t look at the next picture!!!!

Yep……life in the country means you might see a dead mouse on your driveway!  Nuff said! Enjoy your day!

Merry Monday 82

DSCF8923

Happy Monday again, peeps!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend!  It was a great one for me….got some cleaning & organizing done in my craft room, just so I can mess it up again, LOL!  Lesley has a lovely inspiration challenge for us today – check this out:

So here we go:

].\, lo

I love aqua and red together….especially since SU had some pretty papers from a couple of years ago, of which I got a wee bit extra!  I paired it with the plaid circular image from Kind & Cozy, adding a scallop of Coastal Cabana. My Merry Monday teammate, Loll, is an incredibly talented stamper and a great enabler as well!  I saw some cute sentiment stamps on her blog and my checkbook took a hit because I just had to have some!  I stamped the words in Real Red, then added another scalloped mat and a sparkly snowflake to finish off my simple card.

The Shabby Tea Room 191

DSCF8900-001

Happy Monday, peeps!  I was honored for this card again at the Shabby Tea Room, and so today, I am pleased as punch to be the guest designer for this challenge:

Photo Inspiration #191

‘Shabby Fall Party’ – create a card/project inspired by the photo and include a banner, cupcake, orange and yellow.

I searched my stash and came up with some papers that complemented each other and fit the challenge, along with my Circle Card Thinlits to make this card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings The Shabby Tea Room 191

I find sometimes these flip cards do not stay closed, so I made a belly band to fit on my card, embellishing it with some orange ribbon and a Vintage Faceted Designer button.  My cupcake is paper pieced and glittered up with some Dazzling Diamonds and accented with a little banner from Pennant Parade and an orange toothpick!   Here is the card partially open:

DSCF8901

I extended the right side panel of the card and gave it another fold so that there would be more room to write a sentiment.  It shows on the front of the card as the polka-dotted one.

And here is the inside:

DSCF8902

I love the fun colors from the inspiration photo, and I hope you’ll play along this week as well at the Shabby Tea Room!  Be sure to check out all the designers’ awesome creations! And I'll be along later with my Merry Monday challenge as well!

The rallying cry in our household these days is “I’ll do it myself”!  Here, she moved my wreath and holder, got her stool from the bathroom and was jumping on it, trying to insert a DVD into our flat screen TV (the DVD player is part of the TV)!!!!!  Needless to say, she couldn’t jump quite that high, but she gave it a good try!

Paper Players 170

DSCF8907

Happy Sunday (again), peeps!  It’s time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee has a great one for us today:

What a super idea…you could go in lots of different directions with this one!  I don’t have many wildlife stamps, but I do have Zoo Babies, and those little images just make me smile, so I thought I’d put this little alligator to work:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 170 Zoo Babies

I went CAS with this; I simply embellished the alligator with a little glimmer paper heart and added some zig-zaggy embellishments:  a border of Pear Pizzazz from the Finishing Touches edgelits and the Chevron-embossed background.  My final touch was a heart-shaped clip decorated with a Gumball Green ribbon!  And I had to laugh…I alphabetize my stamps, so I used the first and last set of my current stash!!!

Hope you can play along with us this week with your wildlife-inspired creation!  Share it with us at the Paper Players so we can all enjoy it as well!  Here are links to the other designers if you’d like to check them out:

You may remember last year’s Halloween fiasco:

DSCF0554

This year was MUCH better….we were even able to use the same costume and the hat (plus a sweatshirt this time):

DSCF8928

We practiced saying “trick or treat” at the screen door:

DSCF8932

In she comes with her treat bag….once we gave her some treats, she understood the trick or treat concept and was quite happy!!!

Washi Tags

DSCF8908-001
Happy Saturday, peeps!  Wow, it has only been a few days that I haven’t posted, but it feels like forever!  My sweet friend Linda at The Catered Crop chose this card to highlight earlier this week and asked me to participate in this week’s challenge, which is to use Washi Tape!   So I searched my stash and realized I had more than I thought!!!   I wanted to do something other than a card, so I looked through my “alterable” box and found these tags I bought a looooooong time ago at my local office supply store.  Once I got started, I couldn’t’ stop!!!
DSCF8912
I don’t usually make tags for my Christmas gifts because we all know where they end up, but I felt that using up some of my stash of alterables was a good sign that I am working on not hoarding stuff, LOL!  Here are some closeups:
DSCF8908
DSCF8909
DSCF8910
DSCF8911
All the tags use the washi tape along the bottom edge; they are from various sources, including Stampin Up, Martha Stewart and another company that I can’t remember (because I threw out the packaging!).  The images are from various sources; if you want to know a specific image, send me an email (NOT a comment) and I’ll do my best to let you know the manufacturer.  As I said, I had a blast making these and will gladly embellish my gifts this year with them!  Be sure to pop over to The Catered Crop to see what else those clever stampers have come up with!
I know Halloween is over, but I wanted to share with you some cookie-making we did earlier in the week:
We rolled out the dough and cut it with Halloween cookie cutters:
DSCF8879
After decorating them with sprinkles and baking them, we put them on a plate:
DSCF8891
DSCF8894
But the best part was giving Grampy a green bat-shaped cookie!  (He doesn’t look too sure of this, but he ate it!!!)

Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!
