CAS44 Times Two

DSCF6059

I did two cards for today's CAS Color Challenge at SCS:  to use red and brown. I am hooked on these vintage holiday images!!  I just want to eat them up!  Anyway, here's my first attempt.....I really wanted to keep adding stuff which would have "unqualified" it as Clean & Simple!:

Not real sure about the "red" sled.....a little too bright for my vintage tastes.  But I love that Santa!  And on to the next one....a little different hues of red and brown:

I love this one!  The inside reads....."from our house to yours"....makes me feel all nice & cozy!  Not much time today, if you need details on stamps or paper, let me know!  Hugs & blessings to all!

JUGS Challenge #10

Wow, the JUGS girls are on their 10th week!  I love the varied challenges they give us, and this week Pam has given us a sketch:

JUGS10

I could just keep making Christmas cards forever, but my brother's birthday is coming up, so I thought I could use this sketch for his card:

Since he is a real Mr-Fixit kind of guy, I thought these images from SU's Totally Tools would be fun!  It uses several different Cosmo Cricket papers from Nutmeg and Early Bird as well as some "hardware" and a piece of cord from a spool my DH bought at a yard sale for a quarter:

And here's an inside view....I should have used my trusty SAMJ to line up the saw image a little better:

DSCF6040 I think he'll still appreciate it!

And this is the view from our window today:

I know a lot of you have had snow already, but in SE PA, we don't usually get any this early!  It's just lovely!  Enjoy your day!

White Christmas

DSCF6033-2

Isn't this little image precious?  Today's SCS challenge is to make a white holiday card, no DP, one color of ink.  What a fun challenge!  Here's my CAS card using Crafty Secrets' Vintage Christmas set:

DSCF6032-1

Since it's all white, there's not much to explain!  I did use Going Gray ink and there is a little bit of glitter and one little rhinestone, but mostly just embossing and Nestie-ing!  Sentiment is from Flourishes.   Thanks for visiting today!!

Merry Mojo

DSCF6028

I haven't done a Mojo sketch for a long time but I was able to make a quick card today, between losing our electricity THREE times! Here's the sketch:

And here's the card:

I used the Sewing Box Christmas set from Waltzingmouse with some really cute papers from a scrapbook kit by My Mind's Eye.....don't you love this homespun look? Although I still need some practice lining up those clear stamps! My "Christmas" is going uphill! And here are a couple more RAKs I received from Doris at The Stamping Tower; one for Thanksgiving and a Christmas one, too:

Both are just beautiful!

Color Throwdown #71

swatch71

Today is Danielle's turn to be our hostess, and I know that all the CTD artists will be coming up with some cute cards for you to peruse!  Make sure you check out the CTD blog and see who the sponsor is and what they're giving away!  You won't want to miss it!

DSCF6018-1

I am on the fence about my card today.  We always tell our CTD participants to use colors that are close--and I really stretched that with this card!  I wanted to use my Copics, but I don't have a lot of colors, so I had to make do with what I had.  Consequently,  my little "tan Tilda" from Magnolia-licious has quite a summer glow on her face!  I stamped her on Sahara Sand to complement the Basic Grey Wassail DP I used for my background, and now it looks like she got quite a sunburn from the sun reflecting on all that snow! LOL!  Anyway, I did have fun coloring her in, even though I am still on a big learning curve with my Copics.

DSCF6019

Since the card is large and the image is pretty busy, I didn't have room for a lot of embellishments.  A scalloped border peeks out from behind my image, and I also added a little CB tag on which I stamped a sentiment from Anna Wight's Winter Schminter set, along with some snowflakes, then mounted it with a glittery snowflake & button.  I did use SU's Shimmery Paint to color her fuzzy accessories and the snow she is standing on; too bad it's not visible, it looks really cute IRL!  Here's the inside, with another sentiment from the same set:

So let's see what you can come up with this week!  Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery using the keyword CTD71, then link it back to Mr Linky on the CTD blog.  Use the exact link address, and submit it by Sunday evening at midnight to qualify!!!  And check out what the other designers have come up with, including our guest designer, Carol from Our Little Inspirations!  Now go stamp something!!!

Diva Coffee Break Designs Challenge #156

DCBD156

Today the Divas have a color challenge for you...and it WAS a challenge!  That Basic Gray really threw me off, but I pulled out a set I had not used for a while and here's what I came up with:

DSCF6006

This is a quick, easy one-layer card.....I think sometimes we forget that we can make simple cards, they don't ALL have to be complicated!  My little gray elephant from Animal Stories has just lost one of his balloons, but he still has a big bunch with which to wish someone a Happy Birthday!  The sentiment is from Happy Everything, and the balloon is from Sock Monkey.  I paper pieced the balloons with DP from Thoroughly Modern and Razzleberry Lemonade.

So be sure to check out what the other Divas have created with this color combo on the DIVA blog, and play along too!  There is a Mr Linky there for you to post your creation, and you might just be chosen as our Featured Stamper!  Give it a whirl!

JUGS Challenge #9

DSCF5957-1

The JUGS team has challenged everyone to make a holiday gift container for their 3D challenge this week.  You can see the details here.  I had great plans (and still do) to do a neat treat box, but time is slipping away, so I am cheating and using a quick, simple little box I made for my dad's birthday, which happened to fall on Thanksgiving!  We don't usually exchange big gifts, but DH found a cool little flashlight at the local hardware store, so we got him that.  It fit PERFECTLY in SU's Box #2, and I had some already cut from a previous party, so I went to work decorating it with some neat Cosmo Cricket paper and some various birthday stamps:

DSCF5958

DSCF5959 Nothing high-tech or fancy, but he was quite enamored with both the gift and the box....in fact, I told him he could LEAVE the box at my house (I could easily reuse it) but he insisted on taking it home...maybe he'll give it back to me next year, filled with something! :D

Thanks for visiting today!  If you have any questions regarding this, just shoot me an email!
