Paper Players 347 Birthday!

Hello, stampers!  It's Sunday, and that means Paper Players time!  Jaydee has our theme today, one we can ALL relate to:

I am sure the gallery will be jumping with all kinds of creations this week!  I chose to use the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for my card:

and I pulled out my Window Box thinlets and played with the largest opening diecut:

I first cut a circle with the largest Nestability die I had, then layered the die on top and cut it out.  It was a little too small to go all the way across my card, so I sliced it and separated it, hiding the opening under my floral banner.  You can't even tell, can you?!  I stamped a few little leaves from Foxy Friends at the top, a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and added a cotton yarn bow and a little yellow flower for fun!

I had used my Misti to line up my sentiment but had gotten some ink on the inside cover, so a wee little bit got on the edge of the inside of my card, so I just stamped some more greenery to cover it up and added a Paper Pumpkin birthday greeting:

My card is just full of secrets today, isn't it?!  I hope you'll create a fun birthday greeting for someone and share it with us at the Paper Players blog!  Be sure to check out what the DT did as well!  Can't wait to see you in the gallery!

So our kitchen is now in John's big 3-car garage:

He has a carpet cleaning business, so you can see all the supplies behind us.  We have everything except the dishwasher...which we DO miss, but it's like camping!  And of course, life continues, so Cassidy eats her breakfast there before school, and on Thursday morning, we found a funny little fruit there that Wayne brought home from work; it's called a rambutan, and I had never heard of it!  Cassidy was not impressed and told us that it looked like a strawberry that outgrew its hair:

But we're always game for something new, so Dana cut it open and we each tried a piece.  It was good...sort of a cross between a pear and a grape.

The skin pops off easily and there is a seed inside which you don't eat.  It certainly was an interesting little tidbit!

Anyway, have a blessed day and thanks for popping by!

Love it when we can cover our smudges with more ink. That happens to me more often than not. What an expression on Cassidy's face...love it! I had never heard of that fruit. Very interesting. Your kitchen is functional at least. Imagine how expensive it would be to eat out all the time. That would steal funds for your much needed stamping supplies :-)

You made such a great job of this sketch - I must confess I played with it for over an hour yesterday then gave up in frustration!! I love your creative semi-circle and floral banner - and that you shared your fixes! As for the look on Cassidy's face - that is priceless!!!

I love the way you used that Window Box Die! The DSP is cute too. Love the little flower on the banner. Your kitchen set up looks workable anyway! And that fruit looks very interesting….

LeAnne, ah... the joys of renovating. It's amazing the creative places we all find to have a little normality in our life. OK... never eaten one of THOSE fruit.... think I'll give it a miss :-)
I love your take on the challenge and once again you have mixed DSPs beautifully. Fabulous card, my friend

Great sketch you have chosen to make a great card. I must follow your lead and work with the imperfections - so often my mistakes end up in the bin, but you have shown that by thinking outside the box you can rescue a project.
